Excellent Site, Really clean and well maintained.
Our kids loved the miniclub ( kids activities, bouncy castle, discos etc ) and nagged to go every day.
Shower / toilet blocks were spotlessly clean with cleaners in attendance for most of the day.
Security staff do regular patrols of the whole site all day and night ( we saw them at least every 30mins )
Pools are very clean, water tested regularly. the kids loved the splash pool.
There was entertainment in the bar most nights until midnight ( strictly no noise after midnight ). The bar also has several big screens inside and outside for live sport and the food / drinks in the bar are reasonably priced. The food is good quality but the menu has a distinctivly "Dutch" flavour probably due to the number of dutch campers and there is no childrens menu.
There is a large on site supermarket which is reasonably priced ( 50c for a can of San Miguel ) or a large carrefour and lidl in nearby calonge.
The beach is sharp grit rather than sand so id recommend taking crocs or similar to walk on the beach as it is very painful underfoot.
The sea slopes away gently and is lovely and clear, I had lots of fish swimming round me but there is a row of rocks about 10m out which you cant really see on any of the pictures.
Siestas vans in "a" were in an excellent location. Close to the pool / amenities / kids club and not too hilly.
The vans in siesta "b" were miles from anything. a good 20min walk to the pool and up a very steep hill. Only really suitable if you are taking a car.
All of the deluxe 8's were in Siesta "b"
Siesta "a" was on the perimiter of the park and at times there was quiet a lot of noise from dogs in neighbouring properties at one point it was so bad we were sat up at 4am recording 5 dogs having a barking / howling contest.
There are a lot of ants on the park and these do get into the vans although the reps do try to keep on top of them.
Siestas reps Lynette and Andy were excellent. Always on hand to help even on their days off. They even took people to the large Carrefour / Lidl for shopping and have arranged an excursion program to Barcelona , Medeival Night etc that pick up from the site gates at a reasonable cost.
The Lodges were a little tired. They had been moved from another site and seen better days. The verandas and outside furniture were well worn. The matresses were lumpy and in need of replacement. didnt get a good nights sleep. the lodges were also a little on the small side but the larger ones were too far from everything.
Playa D'Aro is not really worth a visit. The boutiques are overpriced. you can buy the same things from boutiques in england for half the price. The funfair doesnt open til the evening. The cafes are distinctly "german" in flavour and the "exotic ice creams" mentioned in the siesta brochure are just scoops of italian stuff in paper pots. Much better is Palamos. We got a taxi there on market day which only cost us 10 Euros. The Market was huge, the cafes and bars were brilliant, there was a much better choice of shops and the prices were better. Palamos looks like its had a fair bit of money spent on it lately and its been done up nicely. Playa D'Aro seem to have spent all their money on water features.
That said you dont really need to leave the site. Everything you could want is on site and the kids loved it.
We will definatley be booking for next year.
If you are making your own way to the site its worth noting that Eurocamp have bigger, better and cheaper vans including some right on the beach that sleep upto 10 and thompson al fresco also have nicer vans in a better location ( though a bit more expensive )

Should also mention that there is a cashpoint at reception if anyones taking a travel money card as opposed to travellers cheques and we had no problems using our thomas cook card anywhere on the site
