We are visiting Gran Canaria for the first time in July this year staying at Club Puerto Calma in Puerto Rico.
Has anyone stayed in this complex?
If so how far is it away from the bars and restuarants.
Also where are the best places to eat and drink in the evening and enjoy a bit of cabaret?
The kids love chips with everything, especially steak!!

I have not stayed at Puerto Calma but I have stayed opposite so know its location.
It is not in the main valley of Puerto Rico but there is a small commercial centre across the road that has a few bars and restaurants and a small Netto supermarket.
One of my favourite restaurants is here, El Gaitero, on the upper floor.
The main commercial centre, where the majority of bars, restaurants and clubs are, is within walking distance and will probably take you about 15- 20 mins although there are also some other bars and restaurants along the beach front if the legs give out.
Taxis are also readily available.
