when its busy,by how you talk it must have been.....the only way to get on the rides you want to go on in a day is to get to the parks early even then its very tough to do,then stay there all day.i know its suppose to be a holiday but if you want to see orlando and its parks its very tiring, but i agree with you i wouldnt wait for any ride there more than 40mins because in the end its not worth it,use of fastpass does come in handy but you need to get there early, saying that i do agree in some ways i like universal studios very much, but i love soarin at epcot but its a shame the line times are so long....love that ride.

We went in early May this year and the crowds were practically non-existent, longest wait was about 20mins, but we went early and got there for rope drop.
Statistically I think May is one of the quieter months.

We always go in May as its warm, dry and quiet.

Re wait times. Disney give out FREE FastPass so you don't have to wait in line, Universal charge for this. In my 20+ Annual vists to Walt Disney World I have never met a rude member of staff. Met the odd grumpy one, but never rude. Don't rule it out based on that one experience junger.

I can't deal with the commercialism of Universal. Big brands shoved in your face at every turn, each to his own I suppose.

We were in Florida for the schools' holidays in April 2010 which is a very busy time but we hardly queued at all in either Disney or Universal. Hubby had done a lot of research on-line, checking out when each of the parks' quietest days were likely to be and he was able to download plans of what order to do the rides in. We were at the parks for rope drop and we made full use of the Disney Fastpass.

Can I first of all deal with the fast-pass, if you get a fast pass at say 1.00pm for a ride, then that fast pass is valid for about 3.30pm or later, you cannot get another fast-pass until that one has expired. So I see no advantage to the fast-pass system, As far as 1 visit is concearned, 6 months earlier I went to DL Paris, not quite as bad but still awful, thats why I quicky booked for Florida, I thought it was the French, I was wrong it was definatley Disney.
And I declare that prior to those visits I have no pre concepts of any theme parks, nor do I work for anyone based or loosly based with either company, in fact I am a self employed AV engineer and detest leisure who charge premium money for poor service, thats my point with Disney

I maintain you went on an off day. I have not had a bad visit in 21 years.
