Grenoble is quite easy, there is a regular coach service - see http://www.faurevercors.fr/LR_SATOBUS_en.html but note it's compulsory reservation.

Alpe D'Huez more of a problem. The seasonal coach service doesn't seem to start until a couple of weeks later. http://satobus-alpes.altibus.com/index.aspx the area bus services are at http://www.altibus.com/index.aspx and don't seem to offer a connection from Grenoble although there is a huge mistake in the enquiry page that alters the format of the date so be careful.

I was thinking the same thing for a winter skiing trip I am going on in Tignes. I have booked all my accommodation, lessons and what not online, but teh nearest airport seems to be miles away from my cabin with no shuttle service offered.
