The area around the volcano has now been evacuated

According to the volcanologist they spoke to on Radio 2 yesterday, there are only tourist and backpackers there which is who they have evacuated out. Let's not worry too soon

It's not any residents or tourists / backpackers that need to worry, it is the impact it could have on flights as was experienced in the last eruption with mass worldwide delays and cancellations along with the massive personal and financial impact it had in both the leisure and commerce sector along with individuals.

When do you suggest we should start worrying especially in light of today's update from the Icelandic Civil Protection dept?

23.08.2014 The seismic activity at Bárðarbunga area in Northern Vatnajökull increased significantly after 10:00 hrs this morning. Scientists believe that the dyke is propagating to the north. Last night the National Crisis Coordination Centre was fully activated.
The National Crisis Coordination Center monitor the situation closely and will update information regularly.
