Hi,in august 2005 my friend ended up in hospital in majorca when her back went. The rep for direct holidays delt with it all for her because she was flat on her back. She was in hospital for a bout 3-4 days and got home safe and sound.Never heard any thing from insurance company and being a novice to claiming didn't think anything of it.Move forward now to january 2006 she receives a bill from the hospital, telephones the insurance company and was told the bill had been paid in full and ignore it,so she did !!!!!!!!!
Yesterday morning she received a bill from a solicitor in Holland asking for payment by june 4th of over 2000 euros and details of an account to pay into. She tried to get through all day yesterday to the insurance but was put on hold for ages .
Today she has managed to get through only to be told that claim forms had been sent out in November 2005 and never returned. They are resending them in the post and they will be with her in a couple of days(can't remember which insurance company, but was bought through direct with holiday)
Does any one else think that firstly the insurance company are very lax in not following up the initial claim and also that no other correspondance came from the hospital to my friend.
Has any one else had an experience like this ?
:?
