We had three nights in Nerja, first time there, we enjoyed it.

We flew Ryanair, Liverpool to Malaga and Collected a hire car from Record car hire at the airport that I'd prebooked direct with them online, transfer coach would have been 80+ pounds, car hire was 20+ pounds, add additional driver and max insurance it came to about 60 pounds, add a tank of fuel it came to 121 euros.

We landed at Malaga about 2pm and drove to Nerja in the rain, the weather was worse than we'd left behind in the UK :( Arriving at our hotel the rain had stopped but there was still a lightning storm out at sea which looked quite dramatic. We went for a walk around the town and found the Balcon de Europa, the moment we got to the point it started bouncing it down again, nothing to do but run to a tapas bar :cheers It poured down on and off for the whole evening but we eventually made it back to the hotel for dinner via several bars and looking like drowned rats, after dinner the rain had eased so we went out for the night and got caught out in the rain again :cry

The following morning the sun was shining and it was pleasantly warm, we left our rain soaked jackets in the hotel and headed for Granada and visited La Alahambra where it rained some more and some more and it was chilly. We returned to Nerja where, by this time it was dark but warm. We had dinner in the hotel and then went out for the night, jumpers were needed but jackets not. We got back to the hotel before sunrise, slept and missed breakfast, it was a beautiful sunny warm day and we weren't fit to drive so it was down to the beach :sun2 The sea temperature was certainly pleasant enough to go in up to the knees and the air temp was warm enough to sunbathe. The day was spent between beach and tapas bars.

On our last day our flight wasn't until 9pm so we had another whole day of sunshine and warmth to enjoy the area, we did the beach :sun2 and went for a drive in the hills were we got a bite to eat in a local bread shop/cafe before returning to the airport.
