£458 London to Vegas on Continental and flying back on Air Canada. Sorely tempted, but Wife thinks we will do better. I am not so sure. Good flight times also.

Vegas planning is back!

I dont mind a stop on the way there but its a long drag on the way back .I booked direct both ways Virgin have better flight times than TC for my options from Manchester.
Elton starts his run the day after I depart Missed again

Happy Planning

Lots of discussion about hotels at the moment for our trip in March but once again the same old argument comes up about how long are we going to spend in the room. My Wife is keen on Planet Hollywood but I'm not bothered and it isn't particularly cheap on our dates. Pool isn't a big issue in March so it's not even the pool at PH which bothers me, just generally, although I did re-read my trippie from 2008 and I really wanted to consider PH next time.

At the moment I'm really struggling to look beyond a Widescreen Room at the Excalibur. $112 Sat, then $60 for S-T and $108 on Friday. The likes of PH are double that especially on the Saturday. Most people say if you are happy with a standard Excalibur room (I was, nothing special but perfectly adequte) then the Widescreen will be a noticeable step up. I'm also excited about American Burger Works and Lynyrd Synyrd BBQ & Beer, both new restaurants coming to Excalibur in the next few months.

Of course, get the room booked and I can keep looking right up to our travel dates. The beauty of Vegas and only payment for one night deposit needed. The Excalibur rate is good (not great) but seems to be the best value out there at the moment.

Anybody got any thoughts on the Widescreen Room?

Early days but looking like it could be another trip to the Castle, last visit was in 2006 so a lot has happened since then!

Hi jwhiting, we stayed at PH on our last visit in 2009 and enjoyed our weeks stay. We had a room which shared a private hallway with a suite on the 20th floor if I remember correctly and was themed with Laurel and hardy memorabilia :rofl . Enjoyed quite a few wins in the casino which always helps :tup Overall a very good hotel and if we got a decent deal would consider it again.
I think the only negative was the sloooowwwww check-in over 2 hours :que

We have also been looking at the Wide-screen room at the Excalibur even in June for a week I have found it for £370, which seems reasonable.
Anyway enjoy the planning.
regards,
Mark.

Widescreen room booked at Excalibur for 7 nights from 24th March!! Deposit paid only for the Saturday night.

Still plenty of time to look around for better rates (and a better hotel) but very happy to go with Excalibur if nothing better comes up.

Waiting on New Year flight sales......

Now we are looking at the Desert Rose Resort just off the strip :think . One bed suite with balcony which I like the sound of.

Still plenty of time to change our minds again :tup

Stayed at the rose two years ago it was nice breakfast included wine on an evening the balcony was not a view for us facing inwards it had a kitchen that we did not use ....but the main thing for us we did not feel that we were in Vegas even though we had our room key from the previous year to get in the pool at MGM and it has gone up in price recently.
Your Holiday your choice.

Having stayed at both the Luxor and PH in recent years I thought the Rose might be a welcome change.
Like you say Wazzer-your holiday your choice :tup
Who knows we will probably change our minds again and end up back at the Luxor :duh

Already cancelled our first Widescreen room at Excalibur booking for the same room on a different deal. Saving $50 in the process.

I love Las Vegas :tup

Nice one. Where are you getting offers this year?

I haven't seen many good offers for ages and room rates have jumped again from what they were 2 years ago. Visitations are up which probably accounts for it.

Las Vegas Advisor or Smarter Vegas. Rates for our dates are nothing special but it is a popular time of the year. Will continue to monitor but I will be more than happy with that rate for a Widescreen at Excal.

Hi - I'm going to Vegas send of Sept (27th-4th oct) to be precise for a wedding. Flights direct from Manchester are £711 at the min - does anyone think that flighs for Sept will be in the Virgin Sale Dec/Jan time. We are just debtating weather to book now or wait till Sale.

We have had a quote for £1,075 per person staying at the Palazzo Hotel.

Hi Nicky,
I went on the 22nd Sept this year for two weeks and I booked my flights in the January sale. It's worth hanging on a few weeks I reckon.
