We are on a cruise, end of May. One of our ports has been changed to Crete.
We are looking at visiting the Palace of Knossos. Is this an easy DIY from the city. Looking at prices, taxi, entrance fee etc. Or can anyone recommend a very good tour operator at the port we can go to when we get off the ship.

Kossos is easily do-able in a day, but the town is well worth a visit. There is also an excellent market down on the harbour where you can pick up all sorts of souvenirs.
The Museum in the town centre is excellent and a lot cooler than Knossos itself.
