Have never really been back anywhere twice ( with the exception of Florida when kids were smaller ) now returning to goa for our 3rd visit and still just as excited as our 1st .. :)

I went a fair few years ago and it was fantastic, it seems though there is a fair few comments that it is not what it was and has been commercialised in a big way. I would love to go back though.

I went in the earlier days, but I would love to know what is it that draws people back there again and again..

stream26- are you off to Goa soon?
We think we might return next year.
MC- I dont know what it is about Goa. I tend to go on holidays where we are out and about exploring( and we do usually have some relaxation time) When it comes to Goa though, I seem to go into a trance and can't get away from the beach and the shacks. Usually don't leave the beach till the sun has gone down. We have found a lovely little hotel- 2 mins from the beach. We love the food. We do meet up with people there. Its a real destressing holiday- even the time when my husband got stuck out in the north sea and we ended up only having 5 days in Goa, and to top it all- the suitcases didn't make the trip! Even that was a good holiday :)

Hi ...I have just booked for 1st march next year ..my third trip, the last being dec 2009!
Nowhere really stays completely the same as time does change things. However the things that draw me back are the kindness and smiles of the Goan people, the amazing food, weather, beaches and places to visit....these things will still be the same!! :-D

Hi Lisa I bet your looking forward to returning 👍

I've never been to Goa as never really fancied it although friends who have been have loved it.

I would image though the colours & aromas of the spice markets would appeal to me 👍

Where are you staying Lisa?

We haven't been for about 3 years, but went for the 16 before that.

Would like to return, but need to brace myself for the airport and the visa.

There are less flights now, and trying to get the dates to tie up with work have been a bit of a problem.

Ah the visa issue, I remember lots of threads about visas 😱

It does seem to be. We had a real carry on to get to Goa. My OH needs his passport all the time. So we had to drive 2 and a half hours to Glasgow to the visa centre. Good job we thought it was worth it!
I just can't get to Goa again next year. My holidays don't tie in with his rota. Would love to get back though.

Yes...it is a place that draws you back ...:-)
my previous 2 visits were with my Ex, and been with my partner 7 years now and taken me this long to persuade him to go...I just know he'll love it ...:-D

I didn't notice your post about where you are staying. Candolim will have changed but it is full of great restaurants and bars!

Changed how? Busier and more buildings etc? Hope it's still recognizable.....

I am sure you will recognise it!
