I love the things that ‘Charles Rennie Macintosh’ has done, especially in Glasgow, unfortunately the ‘Mackintosh Building’ at The Glasgow School of Art was damaged by fire earlier this year, meaning tours of the building have been put on hold.
There is, however, lots more Macintosh thing to view, just google ‘glasgow macintosh’, and enjoy :tup

There are several museums operated by Glasgow City Council and are all free.

The Riverside Museum as it now like to be called or as all from the Glasgow area will always call it - The Transport Museum.
The Tall Ship 'The Glenlee' is also located at the Transport Museum, again with free entry http://thetallship.com/index.aspx

Also located at Riverside you can go for a speedboat ride on the Clyde, having my RYA Powerboat Certificate and having done these tours I can personally vouch for this one -

One of my favourites is The Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, free once again.

There is always something going on in 'Glesga' and you can find loads of information in the council website http://www.glasgowlife.org.uk/Pages/default.aspx

For the adults you might like a tour of a brewery -

Again outside Glasgow a wee bit but with easy train access, is the Scottish Fire Service Museum (check opening times first)

In Glasgow the Police have a museum, did you know that Glasgow had the very first police force in the UK?

A real visual treat, take off / land on the Clyde in the city centre and see Glasgow skyline or go further and fly up to Loch Lomond (wave to me as you come in to land and pass over my house :) ) or even go as far as Oban and see the magnificent scenery of Scotland's West Coast.

Finally for something a little different, visit Ashton Lane in the West End just off Byres Rd (Hillhead Underground station) here you will find a vibrant little street located just behind Byres Rd full of little bars and some shops and a small cinema, also home to 'The Chip' a well know restaurant -The Ubiquitous Chip
