Hi Parcelona ... not sure if it's what you are looking for, but I can only find 3 previous topics where L'hospitalet has been mentioned. All are from 2007 and unfortunately the member concerned does not appear to have visited us since then:

Thanks for the links David,

The info supplied by Allan 5819 was as I remembered.

We are getting on a bit and to avoid the hassle of change at Sants, I am prepared to pay the taxi to L'hospitalet but was hoping to get some assurance regarding the ease of using that station, I understand the minimum fare from airport is now €20, being retired from BR I receive 50% discount on renfe fares.

If any person has experience of this transfer or station facilities I would still be glad to here from them.

Have you considered getting a shuttle transfer?

I don't know how far Blanes is from L'hospitalet, but we got a shuttle with A2B Transfers from the airport to a hotel near Bogatell metro and it was around £34 return for 2 of us.

parcelona,
it is better to get the airport train and change at el clot rather than sants.
it is a smaller station and you would normally not have to change platform.
that may save you a taxi fare ;)

Hi again,

Thanks Lucy we are actually going onto Tossa de Mar for our 21st time and although the fare is much the same it is the varying times of duration and route of journey that put us off especially for our early flight home.

Thanks Jimd-f I have passed through El Cot many times but I did not connect the Airport - Franca Station service with a stop at El Clot , good thinking.
This might just be the answer, it used to be good going to Mataro until the change of route.

Hi Parcelona,

Back in around 2000 we stayed in Santa Susanna and I remember we were able to get a train from Barcelona Airport to I think Mataro and change there for the next northern train to Santa Susanna and onwards to Blanes.

I've just gone through it on the net and it seems that trian service doesn't exist now.

What I did find is that the Bareclona Regional Services offers the following opportunity -

Take the R1 Nord to Macanet - Massanes (1 train every 20 mins), and from there take the R1 Service to Blanes.

All the best,

Tomgilboy,

Thanks for this info. I have had a look at the link it looks a good option, I will need to check Macanet to Blanes.

My journey is not until September so there is plenty time.

Thanks again.
