I was burgled on day three of my stay at the Central Hotel, Santa Maria. I left my keys at reception in the morning and when I returned around 17.15hrs my safe had been unlocked and my money stolen. The manager of the hotel Peter did not want to know and just disregarded the situation. I went straight to the police station to report it.
I asked the manager several times during my stay if he had done an investigation, he hadn't.
The hotel is in the back streets and quite unnerving at night. It is open 24 hours a day and is part of the red light district. There were a lot of comings and goings in the hotel and surrounding area.
My room was not cleaned or the bed changed for the whole fortnight.
TERRIBLE PLACE
