A very poor, run down basic hotel with terrible sea views of dirty swimming pool area, broken umbrellas and sun loungers, peeling paint, piles of junk, corrugated roof tops which were stained and dirty.

No ventilation or fan in bathroom, filthy room conditions. Have been to Barbados before and had a great stay, this stay has made me never want to return. Cheap and not cheerful.

The old saying of "buy cheap buy twice"! How true! It cost me another week’s accommodation to get moved to another hotel. The manager, who also owns Mango Bay, refused to meet me to discuss a refund. He charged 100% cancellation and refused to visit Sunswept Beach to "view" my complaint ! Hmmmm wonder why?

This was our second stay at Sunswept.
Glad to report that the beach is back. This hotel is a basic one but very well run. The room is large with plenty storage space, a well equipped kitchen area, which even has a micro and toaster, safe, tv, a/c, a table and chairs and a furnished balcony. The pool area has loads of sunloungers and a stack of them where you could take and use on the beach. There is a pool bar but it is actually part of the restaurant next door. That restaurant used to be Cocomos but is now Zachios and just as good.
Nearby is a lively beach bar popular with expats( Surfside). It also does good food and has a happy hour which is very busy. Holetown has some fab restaurants and seems to have a few more bars than the last time. However, it is still not really a busy place.
I would def stay at Sunswept again.

Stayed at Sunswept for 2 weeks at the beginning of September. The place itself is a little tired and could do with some work, especially the bathrooms and the furniture. The kichenette is pretty good and has all the facilities you would really want. The rooms are quite specious and all electrical appliances worked. There is air con and a ceiling fan in all rooms and the staff are fantastic, really friendly. The pool, although small was always clean and there was always a security guard patrolling the grounds.

The biggest problem (not the hotels fault) the beach outside the hotel has totally disappeared. You can find one a little further up the coast, around 5-10min walk, but then you do not have any sun beds or anywhere to get a drink from etc.

I would suggest hiring a car to find the better beaches around the island, the locals think the beach will return, and in some trip reports they say is has. Believe me...there is no beach so be warned!

Cocomos is a beach bar right next to the hotel. It is good here for food and a drink, but again, there is no beach so don't let the photo's you find in the tourist books deceive you!

We have just come back from Barbados.

Have been 4 times before and normally rent a private apartment.

We found this hotel on one of our trips and booked it for its fantastic location in Holetown.

The rooms were very large and were equipped with everything you could need. The staff were fantastic and the rooms were kept very clean with clean towels and linen most days. Not many places provide such a service.

The pool is quite small but adequate for cooling off. It was also kept very clean with people checking and testing it frequently.

All of the rooms look out to sea so have fantastic views. Best of all you are right on the doorstep of Cocomos a great bar and restaurant.

We are going back in December.
