We stayed in the Mayfair hotel in Paphos. The area the hotel was in was not as bad as we were led to believe and it was a pleasant 15 minute walk to the sea front.

The hotel was excellent, the staff were very friendly and helpful, especially the reception where English was spoken, it also helped that some of the reception staff were English.

The food in the hotel restaurant was of a very high standard with plenty of choose from, there was something for every single taste. The chef was there every night to deal with any complaints (there were no complaints the two weeks we were there).

The cleaners in the hotel did an excellent job and were a credit to the hotel, they were also very friendly.

The entertainment was basic but as we did not stop in the hotel very much in the evening it would be unfair to pass comment in any detail.

We will definitely go back to this resort and would not hesitate to stay at the Mayfair again.

The Mayfair was in an excellent location, not right in the centre but close enough to walk to.

Apart from the odd cockroach we found in our room (which is normal for a hot country) the rooms and hotel were very clean and our room was cleaned every day.

The staff were friendly, especially the receptionists who spoke English well.

Although we ate tea at the hotel, we rarely stayed to watch any of the entertainment as we went in to the centre. But from what we saw it seemed enough to keep children occupied.

The second pool was lovely but there were not enough beds and umbrellas.

The food was ok, quite a lot of choice.

I would definitely stay at the Mayfair again!!

We went the Mayfair in June 2006 and after reading all the reviews were a bit worried at what to expected. We arrived at about 11.30 at night and were told to follow the receptionist out of the front of our hotel back on to the road,we started to get a bit worried. He told us to go down a small dark road down the side of the hotel, now we were getting worried. We went down to the block that we were told and let ourselves in to our 2 bedroom apartment. It was huge the biggest apartment we have ever stayed in and as we had asked for a ground floor apartment it was right by the second pool and a nice bit of grass where the kids could play bat and ball.(Room 383.)

The room itself was bit shabby, eg. the fridge was a bit rusty on the outside, the plug where the air conditioning when in was a bit dodgy, and the fan in the second bedroom really swung around when you put on. but these were minor things, the room itself was clean and done the job.

The pools were very clean and tidy BUT the only thing I had to complain about was that there was not enough sunbeds and umbrellas to go around, and if you did not get there early enough you did not get one. People were putting towels on them really early and even though the rep had told us not to do this, it was a case of if you can't beat then join them. it was the only way. I did speak to the manager about this and he said that he had ordered 50 more beds.

The kids really enjoyed the kids club(age 4,6,10). The evening entertainment was ok typical 3* entertainment ie Mr Mair fair, Bingo, Quiz night, Robbie Williams act.

It's a 5-10 min walk to the bars and restaurants all pavements are now fine. A bit to far for the kids to walk to the harbour so it was a good job we had a car for 3 days.

All in all it's not a bad hotel and we would probably go again if we went back to Paphos.

The Mayfair Apartment, Paphos is a very good option for a stay in Paphos.

Just ten minutes walk from the nightlife and 2 minutes by taxis (which are 10seconds from the hotel) The pools are beautiful (especially the one with the watrerfall).

The weather is unbelievable but do put tan lotion on and plenty of sun-block!!!!

The World Cup was on and was available for viewing everywhere.

The location is okay but the sandy roads can be quite awkward at times and watch out for the fast cars which can zoom past at any times!

I would also state that the cars park anywhere (even on pavements so beware).

That saying, the majority of locals are pleasant, especially at the local Full Moon bar across from the apartments.

The staff are pleasant at the apartments and the actual room we had was clean, with no bugs at all.

Entertainment is typically Butlins Holiday Camp stuff but good fun.

We would definitely reccommend the apartments to anyone.

There was 9 adults and 1 child in our party, we found the hotel to be clean the staff very helpful, we did have ants in our room but once reported the problem was dealt with they sprayed our rooms and moved my friend and her baby to a new larger room.

The hotel was not too far from nightlife and there is a good bus service to take you to beach, market etc.

The pools were excellent. I would definitley stay at the Mayfair again .

First room offered smelt stale, bedding on sofa bed appeared old/not cleaned recently. The balcony was miniscule and our view was the back of an apartment block, mop buckets, old fridges etc. Second room (offered reluctantly) was cleaner but kitchen area old, fridge + cooker rusty. Bed settee kept collapsing and view was of a waste-land area/tyres - very noisy at times.

Pool areas were best aspect of the accomodation.

Longer than expected walk into Paphos + not very scenic.

I visited this hotel with my partner and his parents and on arrival we were given 2 rooms which were to the rear side of the hotel and the view was poor.

These rooms were 5238 and 5240 .we asked to be moved and this was done 3 days later. The rooms we were given were 124 & 126. These rooms were lovely and had a lovely pool view.

The cleaners were marvelous and are a credit to the hotel. The waiters and waitresses were also very pleasant and spoke very good English.

The food was very good most nights and the nights that we did not enjoy were because we did not like octopuss etc. Sunday night was a carvery and the meat was just perfect.

The dining room was spotlessly clean and there were plenty tables to choose from. On the few occasions that we ate out we went to the black eagle just down the road from the hotel where we were given the best food , service and a warm welcome, try the t-bone steak , it is just to die for.

The other restaurant we went to was fat mama's where we got mexican , american , italian food and was the best.

The roads in paphos leave a lot to be desired and you need to be very careful when walking. We went on the cruise to egypt and also the trip to the holy land which is well worth the money and we booked through socretes travel agent at the end of the street where the hotel is and we bartered with them to get a good deal.

The Mayfair hotel more than lived up to expectations.

The location was a bit of a worry when we first arrived on the Tuesday evening, but after waking up the next morning and being told we were only 10 mins walk from the town and the harbour we were more than happy.

Could not fault the staff in any of the hotel areas, Bar staff in particular were really helpful and friendly.

The rooms were basic but clean and housekeeping came in nearly every day to keep them tidy.

The entertainment team were excellant, (well done Laura, peter and Russell).

We would definately go back to this hotel in the future.
