On arrival, the hotel and lobby is fantastic.staff carried the bags to the room and would not take a tip!
the grounds are amazing at the laguna vista and the pools are excellent.

The staff could not be faulted for their freindlyness
we went to the beach only once.it was very clean, the entertainment staff work hard to involve you in activites and were really freindly even if,like us,you have no intention of moving from the sunbed.

We found the trek to the reef was further than we had expected, there was a jetty made of planks of wood and big oil drums to take you deep enough to find the coral and the fish-didn`t feel too safe on that but it cant have been too bad,we lived to tell the tale!reef shoes are vital in the sea.

We liked the pool area as it was so beautiful and everything was then to hand. There were brilliant bedlike sun loungers-the size of a queen size bed.It was invaluable as the temperature the week we went topped 50 degrees in the sun-too hot for children i think.
even though it is a german thing and we would not normally entertain the idea of "saving"a sunbed-needs must and Paying the pool boy a small sum to save the bed was the best thing we did-the kids could not have been out in the heat of the sun all day.

The rooms were lovely, had two double beds in each ,spacious and very well air conditioned. There is a fridge and safe in the room and the rooms were cleaned superbly every day-we were impressed by the shapes our towels were made into -hearts and swans-and then left neatly on our beds.

There was a sewagey smell at times in the bathrooms but the quality of the rooms made up for that. The food was not really what we like but they had fresh pasta made while you waited and bbq food at night so we didn`t starve but we did eat alot of bread which was lovely.

Unfortunately, one of our party picked up a nasty tummy bug which has never happened before on holiday-we normally have cast iron stomachs!will never know what caused it but the chemist just outside the front door of the laguna vista has some magic medicine that cleared the problem up within 48 hours.

We would not go again because it was too hot for us and would advise a very high factor sunscreen if you are thinking of going to Egypt.

This is the second time in two years we have visited the hotel. Our 5 year old daughter loves it and in 2005 was old enough to join the Kids club.

Whilst all the staff were Italian (70% of the guests are Italian), she was made very welcome and loved it. The staff are friendly and the food is of good quality, although two weeks of "international food" does become a bit repetitive. Given the fact that you also have to queue for food, at times this becomes a bit of a scrum.

We had a duplex room, whereby my daughter had a room above us, which she loved and we had some privacy - unlike most "family rooms" elsewhere.

The hotel was absolutely brilliant and couldn't have asked for a better resort to have spent our honeymoon!

As for cleanliness, I can't knock it, the cleaners work day and night and do a fantastic job, especially Saba who works in the lobby bar and reception!

The food was great too, always a variety (red and white meat, pasta's, rice, breads, soups, deserts, you name it, they had it) and it wasn't a case of the same thing every day.

The location was ideal because we wanted a quiet holiday but the main resort of Naama bay was a scary 15min taxi drive away.

The hotel staff were absolutely brilliant, especially asst capt Ahmed who works in the pool bar and cave bar, and Osama who works in the beach bar and lobby bar (sink sink, polish polish)!

I can't really comment on the entertainment because i never went to see any of it but there was always something different on.

I'm definitely going to visit this hotel again and I'm already looking into going again in September or for our anniversary next March!

We have just returned from a week at the Laguna Vista and I have to say that I really could not find fault with anything. The weather was gorgeous, the food plentiful and tasty and the wine and beer nice also!! The only downfall was that we wish we had gone for two weeks instead of 1. Not alot of entertainment in the evening but I put this down to it being out of season.

Water in the pools very cold but once you were in you didn't want to get out due to the sun being so hot. Swimming in the sea was lovely, very warm, lots of fish to see.

The Hotel Was fab, all the staff were great and I have to say the same as Hughie, Asst. Captain Ahmed was brilliant, he was very friendly and couldnt do enough for all of us.

The weather was definitly on our side and was hot the whole of the holiday, the food was great and there was so much choice and the entertainment was also very good although we didnt see much of it. The animation team are great if you have families and keep the kids occupied throughout the day.

Just be warned that if you fancy going to the Pataya bar the drinks are not free and apart from Fridays you have to pay to get in. We will definitly go back for our anniversary and see Ahmed and the rest of our friends again.

We stayed in one of the bungalows overlooking the lazy river and kids play area. Ideal for our 4 year old. The accommodation was spotless, and all the staff were extremely friendly and courteous.

The food was of a reasonable standard, with lots of variety, (expect to have Italians and Russians push in front of you when using the buffet). Some of the chicken dishes looked a bit undercooked, but we stayed clear of it. The selection of cakes and desserts was excellent.

The staff seemed to like us Brits. The kids club was not well patronised even though we were there during school half term week, our son often had one to one attention from an Italian kids club leader who spoke very good English.

The beach was excellent; a tip to the staff at the start of the week secured us a nice sun bed area when we visited. The pools were all clean, (the lazy river showed signs of floor damage, but was still usable). The hotel is a 20 minute drive from the main resort areas, but provided most things you would need.

The glass bottom boat trip from Sharm was excellent, the trip to St Catherine

We stayed at the Laguna Vista Beach Resort on an all inclusive basis. The food was varied and very good. The hotel was exceptionally clean. The location was good, away from the hustle and bustle of Na'am Bay. The hotel staff were polite, efficient and attentive.

Entertainment in the evenings was almost non-existent but the little their was, was ok. We are visiting this hotel next year and already booked.

We had no trouble with the Italians or any other people then again there were lots of British there when we stayed. There were only Brits in the bars in the evening and on the nights we went to Na'am Bay, the bars were dominated by Brits. And one good thing, no football shirts to be seen.

My mother and I had no complaints about the accommodation, we were in a superior room in the main hotel building, which had private steps into the pool from our room terrace. Looked nice , but the sun never got round to that side of the building so the water was freezing.

Tea and coffee in the lobby bar was hit and miss- the Italians got real coffee- the English got instant out of a jar on occasions - so specify you want real coffee !

The only problem I encountered which has put me off from returning was the food. The variety of main meal choices was very poor and in my opinion should not be served up outside. The pastries/ cakes and bread selections were excellent, but the food was never hot enough and many British people on holiday there had stomach upsets.

I think in the whole week I was there I managed to get two hot meals - one in the Dua Dua Italian resteraunt and pasta in the main resteraunt - so be warned ! Service especially at breakfast was very hit and miss , cutlery and breakfast cups were at a premium !Forget getting a hot cup of tea too at breakfast. You are entitled with Thomas Cook to have one free meal in the Italian or the fish resteraunt - but it is a set menu for those on all inclusive basis and is not up to much. The staff were very helpful.
