We booked the hotel thinking it was on the beach as the review in a British brochure was very misleading, giving us reason to believe it was on the beach!! On arrival we were very shocked to find it was on the main road. Fortunatley to pool, although freezing cold, made up for this.

The 'all inclusive' deal was aslo a bit misleading as we ended up paying for quite a lot of drinks and due to the foodin the buffet being of poor standard, we ate in Chez Pascal on many occasions,

The staff were very friendly, although mainly to my husband, 90% of the time I was totally ignored. We had to move rooms 3 times due to noise, each time a complaint was made, only my husband would be addressed which I found infuriating.

This hoiday was our honeymoon, I would not reccommend it to others as a honeymoon hotel, it you're looking for peace and quiet you won't find it here. Every room we stayed in was noisier than the last, impossible to have a lie in!!!!

The entertainment was mostly run by the animation team, who although tried their hardest didn't provide enough variety.

The Hotel was over-whelming, arriving at night is the perfect time, it is set back with a huge lit up sign and water fountains, as soon as you step out of the coach you know that you've picked a good hotel. The hotel Reception was the pivot of the hotel, it had large glass windows that overlooked the pool and the reception staff were extremely helpful, your bags are taken to your room by a porter and if you're staying in the select club then you are escorted on a buggy which was a very good start to your stay.

There are two different type of rooms to the hotel, the hotel rooms which were basic rooms with beds and a bathroom and the Select Club, the Select Club are apartments are at the back of the complex, which isn't a problem because everywhere is accesable... our rooms were spotless, extremely clean with a living space, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom, the ground floor room had a patio and the first floor room had a balcony which we didn't actually use! The rooms are cleaned everyday and the towels are changed, we used the "Do not disturb" sign quite often to avoid being woken up at 9am, we chose to have our room was cleaned only a couple of times over our 2 week stay.

You experience the kind of heat at night but on your first morning you realise how hot it actually is, in the late 40'S from 9am until about 5pm the sun is constant throughout the days but BOTH swimming pools are equipped with large parasols which provide plenty of shade. We found it useful to go inside and watch a film at lunch and then come back out. The best time of the day is between 5pm and 7pm where the sun is setting and it cools down a whole 10 degrees to the average evening temperature of 38 degrees, sounds worse than it is. (The air conditioning in the room deals with it). The whole hotel is air conditioned, apart from Chez Pascol which is outside and eating there can be very uncomfortable, however, the food is better here than in the all inclusive buffet restaurant where the food was frequently cold or the same old.

The best meal in the restaurant is breakfast where there are pancakes and many other specialist breakfast foods, lunch is the same everyday and dinner alternates, however it is usually cold and the children weren't too keen on the food. The service in the Restaurant is ok, the waiters are rushed off their feet with a couple of managers directing people to tables and doing nothing else, this is the same in both bars and the Chez Pascol restaurant whcih during the day also served snacks, however, the menu had 5 snacks on it and didn't change. The pool bar can be a pain when certain abrmen can't serve alcohol because of their religion and others are managers who write receipts for the self catering guests that don't exist.

Back to the daytime.... there is one large swimming pool which was like a bath, however, for the first week sunbeds were like gold dust with the hotel full and all sunbeds being taken by 7am... however, on the second week new rules were inforced whereby any beds left un-occupied for longer than a hour were cleared and left available, this made life easier. Also, on the day before we left around 20 new beds were brought in and the situation was much better. The second pool is set back and is much calmer, it is away from the pool bar so we didn't use it and you find that it is even warmer than the main swimming pool. In the main swimming pool there are activites gonig on throughout the day by the animation team (more about them later). In the middle of the main pool there is a large water feature which was used by kids for diving off, a stupid idea and there's nothing that the pool attendants could do about it. There are several pool attendants who were always cleaning, the pool area was spotless, everynight they cleaned a different part of the lounging area and during one day they came round and scrubbed the dirt of the parasol base. The pool is cleaned everynight and chemicals are put in at night SO DON'T USE IT! One kid used it at night and it irritated his sunburn. Towels are found in the towel hut in the second hotel block which you can keep overnight or return, it is reccomended that you take your own towels for when using the beach so that you can reserve a bed at the hotel if you want to still go to the beach.

The beach was also excellent, an hourly shuttle bus takes guests to and from with some stopping at Naama bay. The beach is man made so it is all rocks and coral, however, if you go on to the jetty it is deep further out where you can snorkel and see the amazing corals, (do not touch!). The restaurant here is included in the all inclusive and served better lunches than the hotel, the bar is also all inclusive and you can get towels from here aswel, (saves you carrying them to and from the hotel).

The daytime activities took place at the beach and the hotel with an animation team of about 5, however, the activites at the beach were a waste of time as there was a maximum of 30 people there at a time who weren't interested. The hotel activies consisted of water polo, darts, water gym or table tennis, some of them going on at the same time and the water gym being extremely poor. They tried their hardest but didn't quite have it in them, the evening shows proved this whichw ere extremely poor. The animation shows took place downstairs in the dsico which was a flop, you had to pay for drinks so it was empty, however, you could sit upstairs and lsiten to the same singers everynight which was very tedious. The nightlife at the htoel is nothing but after a day by the pool you aren't that bothered as you are half asleep anyway.

In the evenings you can go to Naamma bay, it is best to go in the hotel taxi which is reliable, safe and cheap. about

Hotel is very nice and clean. Everyone is very helpful. Rooms are cleaned daily and towel sculptures are left on the bed with flower petals -lovely touch.

Soap, shower cap and flannels provided as was a sewing kit. Satellite tv had 2 channels in English which were movie channels. Fridge in room but not stocked as a mini bar as reported in the brochure. You are given a one litre bottle of water per room which you are expected to re-fill during your stay. Extra bottle has to be paid for.

Air conditioning excellent but could be a little noisy at night - so advise to turn it off as the room kept cool overnight.

The room safe is digital coded, which you need to set once in your room. It's easy to do but our safe was tempermental and and at times we couldn't open it - advise you give it a couple of mins and keep trying.
Security was good, had to surrender bags for searching every time you re entered the hotel, this gave you peace of mind.

Food was plentiful but was only warm and after a week of the same pasta, rice, meat, chicken and veg I was ready for a change. Other choices were salad bar, cakes and fruit. Waiter came and cleared your plates quickly and offered drinks of your choice.

Breakfast included breads and toast-which you make yourself. Pastries, cheeses, salad, fruit, plain yoghurt, cereal. Mashed potatoe, spicy sausages in onions. Chefs make fresh pancakes and waffles or fired egges & omlettes. The scrambled aggs are from powered eggs. Tea & coffee and juice- but no fresh juice.

There is another restaurant in the hotel where you can book a table at night - this is not included in the all inclusive but at least you get hot food. For those on the AI they deduct 30le per person off the bill, managed to get a lovely fillet steak and rack of lamb, but it's all served with 'french fries'and salad.

All the staff are very helpful. Pool and beach towels are available. Entertainment during the day is laid on and the staff come around announcing what is due to go on - such as pool actvities, darts, waterpolo. At night it is much to be desired. There's always extra to pay for, but I didn't.

The beach was lovely but the beach restaurant was poor-waited 45 mins for a drink having asked 4 times and one hour for food, which left me with undesired effects the day after.

The AI alcoholic drinks were limited and didn't seem to have much alcohol in them.

All in all a very relaxing holiday and a week was enough.
