Turned up on this hotels doorstep desperate for a room. As per usual we hadn't booked before we headed off to Devon.
The Torland is a small family run hotel in an excellent location just adjacent to the promenade area on the seafront in Paignton.
There is parking on site for guests, the rooms are clean & comfortable with tea/coffee, kettle provided, hairdryer & small colour tv. Rooms made up daily. We went bed & breakfast and the breakfasts were excellent.
There is a small bar in the basement of the hotel that the owners will open for you in the evening for as long as you want.
The best thing about this hotel is Bill and Sue who run the hotel - a lovely, friendly, fantastic couple who treat all guests as friends. Nothing was too much trouble and we really enjoyed the couple of evenings we spent in the bar chatting to them.
There is no actual entertainment at this hotel but I have rated Bill & Sues company as a 5.
We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and hope to return to it soon. One of the best small family run hotels I have ever stayed in and excellent value for money.
