What a beautiful resort this is, you cannot stop taking photos!Just sit at the hotel bar in the morning and watch all the coaches head down to the harbour or the monastry, then take your towel, head out of the hotel turn left, cross the road and go down to the pebbly beach. There a few sunbeds and bars there but beware there is an elderly lady who is in charge of some of the beds, she will take your money and come back an hour later and demand more money! Either prepare yourself for an argument or better still do what we did and take a photo of the cash transaction as proof! This is the only rude person we came across in the resort, within days you will feel part of an extended family as shopkeepers and restauranters wave to you as you walk down to main part of paleo.

Seashore in Paleokastritsa is very pebbly, and sea is very cold! But you can see right to the bottom of the sea,it is overwhelming! It is well worth going on a motor boat trip, the most beautiful pics can be taken that time!We were showed a place,"Blue Eye",where it was a sort of underwater tunnel with light radiating from under the water! It looked like a huge blue eye indeed!

Paleokastritsa was very picturesque, with lovely pebble/sandy beaches. The restaurants were slightly more expensive than the rest of corfu but the service and food was excellant , with some restaurants holding Greek nights etc. on certain nights. There are boats to hire and car hire available if needed. The resort gets very busy during the day with day trippers coming to see the monestary etc. but, the evenings are quietish. Belverdere, Limini are a couple of eateries we frequented.

If you are looking for a quiet holiday with nice restaurants then this is the place for you!

We have fallen in love with Paleo.

Spent most of our time chilling out at the Phivos pool and bar. The hosts were fantastic, as well at the tavernas and bars down the road. It was a perfect holiday and we are looking to go back in August.

If you want a holiday to chill out and get a suntan, look no further than Paleo. The locals are very friendly indeed and so welcoming.

The area around the resort of Paleokastritsa consists of very beautiful wooded hillside and the only drawback is if you do walk to the main beach from your accommodation you have to risk the traffic by walking on the road as there are no pavements. This is a bit daunting especially at night, the roadside is uneven and there are some unfenced drops so it is essential to be careful, wouldn't like to attempt it after a few glasses of ouzo! The resort is not suitable for anyone with a disiability or walking difficulties unless of course you hire a car. There are a lot of hills and steps around. Also watch out for the mopeds, they can be a pain! However the views over the bays are breathtaking and it has to be one of the most beautiful resorts on Corfu. The main beach in Paleokastritsa gets busy but there are other quieter beaches which can be reached by boat and a couple of shingle ones, just look out for the signposts. The monastery is worth a visit and the views from up there are lovely, also the Bella Vista restaurant on top of the mountain has breathtaking views of the whole of Paleokastritsa. There are lots of tavernas and restaurants in Paleokastritsa and two courses with a couple of drinks each for two people seemed to cost between 18 and 30 Euros in total. I can recommend the family run Militiadis Corner taverna which is near the Aphroditi appartments at the edge of town. It's easy to take the bus into Corfu town from Paleo but the buses do get crowded and the last one back to Paleo leaves at 6 PM, very expensive to take a taxi back, 30 to 40 Euros I believe! You may find yourself standing which is not ideal on a 30 minute journey, no point in arriving at the bus station early for your return journey either as when those doors open it's every man for himself, no such thing as an orderly queue! I would recommend Paleokastritsa to anyone seeking sunshine, great views and a relaxing time. It's not for someone looking for shops or lively nightlife and there is no town to walk round as such, everything is just situated off the one main road and up into the hills. If you are looking for some peace and quite try it and you will not be disappointed.

This resort was beautiful. When I rang to book the lady I spoke to advised this was not Blackpool in the heat ( i.e Benidorm) It was everything we wanted for a holiday and more. The scenery and views are breathtaking and when the lady told me most postcard pics are taken here I could understand why.
Not a lager lout in sight.....bliss!!!

We were here a week, and I loved it. Adequate places to eat and drink although I think it would become boring if there for 2 weeks.....This is not a bustling resort, but for a week its sheer heaven... I certainly recharged my 32 year old batteries!!!!!

The people were so friendly and never let you go without speaking to you. We ate most nights at Oasis which is owned by Spiros and his family, they and the staff were so welcoming.

We took an excursion on a boat round the island and saw deserted beaches, went into a cave and had a BBQ luch on one of the beaches, it was amazing.

The photographs I have look like postcards, the sea is turqouise, the sand pure white, I wish I could thank the lady that I rang on teletext to thank her, as everything she said about Paleo is completely true.

Its lush, unspoilt, beautiful, hot, friendly and a little bit of paradise.....it is in my opinion Corfu's jewel in the crown.

And as Arnie says...........I'll be back!!!!!!

Beautifully, romantic scenery. The local beach you could not fault.

I took bread with me every morning and as I bathed, I fed the fish from my hand. Wonderful. We had the reception up overlooking the island in Lakones.

Absolutely outstanding.

The resort of Paleo is lovely. After so many bad experiences at the hotel we spent most of our time in and around Paleo and found brilliant tavernas with greek dancing and food. The beach is lovely and once you get used to the cool sea water the swimming is wonderful.

Paleo is not for Clubbers nor is it for Union jack short wearing lager louts although they would all get a warm welcome. Tavernas and places to while away the warm evenings are not in short supply, there are even a few late nighth spots like the Mistral and The moody Blue.
Paleo is comfortable with itself and perhaps I can give you an idea of what I mean if I say The folk are friendly, the resort is beautiful, the beaches are clean and not too difficult to get to, the views are stunning and all in all I would say its the best resort in Corfu, but the locals know this so they dont sell it to you hard they just let you become as comfortable with the place as they are. 11 out of 10 every time
