The best rooms to stay are typically the ones that are located nearer the strip. Like Nefeli for example. It was 2 minutes from the night life but when you wanted to recover it was also out of the way, sharing a personal swimming pool with neighbouring ho

Make sure you buy or have air conditioning when you go.
A lot of great places and bars to visit within 15mins walking distance. Gets very hot alot of people tend to hire quad bikes to get around.

clean and tidy, rooms were cleaned everyday except sunday!
when it said in the brochure sea front i expected a nice beach, but it wasnt much of a beach, we sunbathed at the pool which was nice, the nearest beach is only a little walk anyway!
i would deffinately visit pyrgos again its away from the loud bars but close enough to walk to the main town and bars if thats what u want!!!!!

we never seen any rubbish in the streets no matter what time of the day and there were no smelly drains like you usually smell in places like this. we never went to the beach this year but it is quite small and stoney, sunbeds were about 10euros for the day.
we would deffinately come back to malia, we had the times of our lives!!

enjoyed haggling on the strip, u can barter most places down to 3 drinks, a shot and a fish bowl for 5 euros each, don't accept any less!
Additionally, try PETRINO's restaurant (turn left after the cemetary on ur way to the strip and pass the go-kart track) the food, service and setting are excellent!

resort was good, not very clean but u dont really care once u have had a few drinks. beach was mingin and the sea was rocky just stay round the pool.
we had an amazing week thou we didnt let our hotel ruin our week!

The resort was basic but clean and in the perfect location. Considering we only booked it on the Wed and flew on the Friday it was excellent. the beach is only 5 minutes walk away and the start of the pubs and clubs is right on your door step but not to loud.

Screw what all the newspapers are saying about Malia. It's amazing! Yeah you get the odd idiots that are so drunk they haven't got a clue about what they're doing but it really is the minority and most people are there just to have a good time. Make sure you go to Zig Zag, Zoo, Cloud 9 and Candy they're probably the best clubs. Apollo might look good on the outside but it's rubbish inside.
A little word of advice though, don't go on the Thomas Cook excursions, especially the Booze Cruise. It's possibly the biggest waste of €50 I've ever spent. Some idiot threw beer up onto the DJ set so it broke and we were forced to go back before we were supposed to and then made to wait on buses until these people paid the damages!

The beach in Malia is fantastic, and there is lots to do around the area. The restuarants we visited were are lovely, and there were plenty of bars and clubs open very late for partying.

If you do go to the beach walk along the sea front and find the nicest one as they are all split into different beaches owned by various beach pubs. My advice is to walk further away from Malia beach and you'll find the nicer spots. However you are charged a small price to go the beach.
There are some great restaurants on the Malia strip specifically a steak house which is amazing.
Lots of places to buy gifts, cigarettes, alcohols etc.
But most importantly the nightlife is wicked! And thats the main reason to go to Malia!
