Myself and my family stayed at the Paspalis in May, we had two days of terrible rain, but hired a car and saw a lot of the island, our room was fine, as I am in a wheelchair Nico gave us a large room, but my son and his wife and son had a tiny room, with an even smaller bathroom, with a small window which made the room very dark. The food at the hotel was excellent, opinion the best wadie for. All in all I would visit again, but accommodation for families is far to small.

The hotel is in an excellent position overlooking the beach. You can get a good view of it on Google Earth. It is a 5 or 10 minute walk into the village, passing a few hotel/tavernas on the way. The beach opposite the hotel is a mixture of sand and shingle and shelves pretty steeply into the sea.

We had a first floor room facing the gardens and pool and we could see the sea. The furnishings were modern and new. There was plenty of storage space, a tv and fridge. The safety deposit box was

This was a great hotel. The rooms although basic were cleaned every day and fresh towels and bed linen changed three times in the two weeks we were there. Nikos the owner and all his staff were very helpful and friendly particularly the restaurant staff all of whom worked very long hours but nothing was too much trouble for them. The hotel is located just across the road from the beach which is comprised of shingle and pebbles so footwear is needed to get in and out of the sea. The hotel is very handy for the centre of Skala which has a large number of resaurants, bars and shops withour being over the top with noise. The restaurant in the hotel was excellent and not expensive like some hotels we have stayed at, in fact it got very busy some evenings because a large number of people staying in other resorts chose to eat there. On Thursday evenings there is entertainment from a guy who set up his keyboard and sang traditional greek songs with some of the locals and the staff entertaining us with traditional greek dancing but anyone could join in if they wanted too, a great night all in all. Kefalonia is a beautiful island with some stunning countryside to see if you hire a car. I would definately recommend the Paspalis to anyone.

The Hotel is in a very good location just yards from the beach and the town is within a ten minute walk away. The rooms are very basic and quite dark inside as we only had one window!
The staff were always very helpful though the owner didn't seem that friendly.
We ate there a couple of times and the food was ok, we had worse on this holiday and we had better!
We would have to recommend the Status Cafe in Scala
which is on a crossroads in the High Street. It is very basically furnished but don't let this put you off as the food was wonderful and they were the most friendly people we met!! I mentioned to Tess the owner that I would like to try a proper Mousaka so she said come back tomorrow and I will make you one, it was delicious! She prepares everything freshly not like some of the larger restaurants we tried where food is taken out of the freezer and microwaved.
Also if you fancy a drink try Sally's bar the prices were some of the cheapest we found.

Fantastic location just over the road from the beach! The hotel has small, basically furnished but modern and clean rooms. The restaurant was excellent and the staff were friendly and very helpful. Pool area ws great too. I'd definately go back-the hotel was a real find and Skala a great resort for a relaxing holiday.
