Scala is a quiet resort and very much family orientated.

Skala beach is expansive most of it flat and sandy, with caves and rocky outcrops to the south. The beeches were really quiet but the rows of parasols suggested that this may not be the case in high summer. Water sports were available and boat trips to the neighbouring islands of Zante and Ithaka.

It retains a very Greek feel with lots of good restaurants to dine in the evenings.

Just returned from a week staying near to Scala. We went into Scala most nights during our holiday and a couple of times during the day.
There is a good choice of restaraunts and bars. There are also a good choice of shops. A lot of the bars offer happy hour which we visited before our meal at night. Captain's Bar was one of our favourite as they had a large selection of cocktails and a nice atmosphere. We found it difficult at night to choose a restaraunt as there was so much choice! So we spent ages wandering around and looking at the menus.
We didn't spend much time on the beach at Scala as our hotel had a pool. However it looked nice and was very big. There are also a few beach bars.
We would visit Scala again and I would recomend it to family and friends.

Scala is a lovely resort very quiet and peaceful and just the place to chill out and relax, the beach is of a very high standard but the sea does get deep very quickly so be careful.
The transfer is about 1hr 30 from the airport but it's a nice trip which gives to a chance to see the island.
It's full of nice Taverna's and bars the only one we didn't like too much was the Chinese Restaurant because the Owner is the only miserable greek that you will meet in Scala, the rest are brilliant, our advise would be go without the chinese for the week and don't give him your money, he doesn't deserve it, if you do you have been warned.....
To sum up Scala is a great little resort and i'll definitely be going back.

Skala is a lovely place, there are plenty of resturants and bars but none of the usual Irish theme bars and other such trashy bars you would find in Faliraki and other places.

I would not recommend this resort for singles rather for families and couples.

There are a few nice restaurants in Scala but the town is very small, expect to travel elsewhere if you are looking for livelier nightlife but there is enough to keep you occupied otherwise.
Also don't get caught out by the one cash machine that from asking around, never works!

This was our second visit to Skala there is quite a bit of low key building work going on and feel that in a few years it will end up like a lot of other busy holiday resorts so go now. Watch out for the mosquitos as they will eat you alive. Take plenty of spray.

The resort is so lovely beacause of all the lovely restaurants that are there The pines was our favoutie the food is superb so is the wine list!!!
The puddings were to die for
Symposium was also very special the piano player was great and such a relaxing place to eat.
The supermarkets are great and really do cater for the British as its a british resort more upmarket British though no lager louts or rowdy people very classy
I think the resort caters for older people like the hotel which makes it a lovely peaceful relaxing holiday.
The beach is very long but is quite shingly we stayed by the hotel pool it was so nice.
A must is the glass bottom boat there are many trips going to Zante. Fiskardo etc the guy who owns it is great and gives you a little commentry on your way to your destination.
Perfect holiday perfect place. Cant fault the islanders they are so friendly everyone has a smile for you.
