Ixia is a small bustling little place. There are plenty of bars and restaurants + shopping to suit almost everyone. Rhodes town is only ten minutes away by taxi too.
Only down-side is the road. A few speed cameras wouldn't go amiss.

The resort itself is very clean. Ixia is only a small area but as such does offer some entertainment and bars more for families and couplies rather than for younger people. One of the Bars which is great is the FBI. They offer a good range of drinks plus bar meals if you want lunch or evening snack. This bar also offers big screen coverage of the usual sporting events. The owners are very friendly and always make you welcome.
The only thing I am critical of in the resort is the usual problem of stray dogs which you always seem to get in Greece and Spain. With the amount of funding from tourism it seems a pity the local authorities do not address the problem and try to set up centres for these poor animals

we stayed in ixia, on arrival was a bit disapointed as the resort was just a busy road with a limited number of bars & restaurants but the resort grew on us after a couple of days . best places we found to eat were poseidonia, coconut & dimitrios restaurants .the f.b.i. bar is very popular & white corner bar where billy made us very welcome which had every thing from the latest films to every sporting event you may want to watch .entertainment in the resort is limited although the poseidonia restaurant has greek dancing most nights .the beach is shingle & we only visited it twice as its not one of the best & you need to cross a very busy road to get to it.we visited rhodes town 3 times, as its only a 10 minute bus ride away, during our stay & is well worth seeing especially the old town but its is more expensive to eat & drink out.we also took a boat trip to lindos which is very pretty although the acropolis is undergoing work at the moment ......look out for the donkey p...!! all in all although we enjoyed our holiday we probably wouldnt visit ixia again

The resort is situated between Ixia and Trianda, both of which have numerous bars, restaurants and shops. Long stretches of beach, which are pebble and sand.

In brief:

Rhodes Old Town is absolutely outstanding.

Ixia itself is quite nice, with a reasonable to good variety of restaurants and bars. It is not very large, however, so there is not an unlimited choice of places to eat without going to Rhodes Old Town.

Rhodes town: was beautiful and only 11€ from the hotel. The old town is a huge maze of small restaurants (and I mean loads), shops and cafes. The harbour is also nice. There is too much to see in one visit with the old town and all the big shops in the new part. 2 days would do. One word of caution, we had 4 juice drinks in a tourist bar in the main square of the old town which cost almost 30€. 7/10

Beach: is nearby but rubbish. Not enough happening, no amazing scenery and with no sand and only dusty pebbles we only spent about an hour there. 2/10

The resort is very clean compared to other Greek islands. The walkways and pavements are nicely finished with no open grids!
The entertainment available is vast, with something for everyone. There are many bars, clubs and restaurants nearby every hotel in the area, so I will doubt anyone will get bored!
The beach where I stayed is pebbled - I stayed in Ixia, but in Lindos, the beach is sandy. I have to say, even though the beach was quite crowded, it was very clean, and there are lots of facilities.

Ixia is just a road really. It is a line of hotels on a very busy road. The road runs from Rhodes town right along the coast and is the only main road so it does get very busy. Entertainment is limited. It is a good access point for Rhodes town but has nothing much else to offer.

Ixia is not the nicest of resorts in the world and in some areas is very much a building site - although some of this is for expensive homes. The taverna's are mostly down the main drag so easy to find with some of the better places in the side streets. Phillips Bar (behind the big modern supermarker) is the oldest and Phillip is a real character! His Stifado is excellant. A new taverna opened in 2006 that is opposite the Angy Hairdressers is worth a visit for the Gyros and Souviaki. You will find that most of the other people there are local as well.
The beach is narrow, stoney and windy but the water is lovely and is sandy once out in the water.
