In Sept 2002 the hotel Arco was in dire need of refurbishment. There was also some building going on on some wasteland next to the hotel. The swimming pool was quite nice but had dance music blaring out from the pool bar at high volume all day. The area around the pool was quite slippy and dangerous when wet. We had 9 days of torrential rain out of 14 and a leak in the roof of our room. I was 6 months pregnant at the time and afraid of slipping and falling. Requests to move room were ignored by staff. The hotel owner and his staff were generally aloof and unhelpful although the cleaners were efficient and friendly. Food abysmal, drinks very highly priced. On the positive side the hotel was located on a lovely beach.
