We were very suprised with the level of self catering actually means!

The room was a squash, not airy. The shower such a squeeze, big people stay away from the studios. We had no offer of air con and the fans on the ceiling was on constantly. There were no nice views for us, we had the appartments at the back.

Food was under average. They have a bar that serves snacks - I wonder why they couldn't cater for more?
No entertainment, they have some slot games machines and a massive telly with constant Skiathos telly.

The pool...well...it was deep - really hard when they advertise as family friendly. They have the smallest and thinest pool for small children, good for rinsing our feet.

The studio we stayed in would not lock from the inside, this was crazy. Our 3 year old son opened it several time in the very early hours and escaped out to the shop to see their dog. We were soooo worried about the deep pool and also the apartments lead out to the main road with wide open entrance/exit.

The store was good, but really I wasn't up for being eyed by them.

Overall we absoulutely love Skaithos and the resort is nice.

Skiathos beaches are fab.

Horrible. We arrived to be shown to a filthy, dark studio facing onto a concreted area with a concrete flower bed full of dead sun flowers.

When we looked in the bathroom we couldn't initially see the shower or bath. Until we looked again and realised it was tucked right up against the loo ! The walls were filthy, the curtain next to the one tiny window which was next to the front door, was filty and I just couldn't have slept in the bed.

I was insulted to be shown to such a hovel, the whole place looked uncared for and dirty. Needless to say, we asked to be moved and were very quickly, thank goodness.

To the lovely Villa Maria at Troulos which was fantastic ! If you book the Roula DO NOT book a studio (maybe the appartments are better (???!)

Well we stayed at the Roula in June last year as well, see other report.

It was different this time,at the time of booking we asked for a high floor, I know its not always possible, when we arrived we were given a studio on the ground floor, we saw the rep who moved us to a 1 bedroom appt in the "old block", it was very dated and in need of a refurb, there was another couple who also was put in the "old block"they moved up to another First Choice appt called "Stefanos House".

That is where we went for our first week as well, the second week we moved back to the Roula, we had a second floor appt this time over looking the pool, these have had a refurb and are good for 2 people, we would stay at the Roula again, but we did prefer Stefanos House, hope the Roula gets it act together it is in a very good position.

Roula Apartments basic but clean, great for families with small children as no hills to climb 5 mins from beach which was very very good. 2 mins from bus stop great trip to Skiathos or any of the bus stop numbers.

Supermarket on site stock everything you needed, staff in here great.

Pool and bar area clean and tidy.

Staff brilliant with us and they adore children.

All the tavernas had lovely food and lovey people could not do enough for you if you have young children.

We went at begining of season May very quite things just opening but very good.

Room overlooked the swimming pool & bar, always very clean & tidy. The room was very clean I believe they had a recent refurb, although we overlooked the pool & bar area (which we asked for)it was not to noisy.

We have booked again for June this year. On site supermarket was very good, as were the owners who ran it.

This was a lovely apartment. Very clean and a lovely pool and bar area. Bar staff very helpful and friendly. No entertainment as such. Shop on site a bit more pricey than some of the others down the road. Although it was the busy season it was just right. Very relaxing indeed.
