Mr & Mrs Masters stayed at Kuramathi Village Hotel, Male in May 2007
We have just returned from Kuramathi Village and found this a great island.
You are in a true island situation with outdoor showers, and feel in the jungle when you sit on the verandah. We had one rain storm for 24hrs but stopped us doing nothing. Not too bad for the rainy season as it was very hot all day.
The harage restuarant and its staff where great, food very good. We where all inclusive, but didn\'t spend much time in the Fung bar, too tired at night, so didn\'t use the limited entertainment on offer.
Sunset cruise was great, shopping trip to Rashdoo ok but I hate shopping anyway.
This was our second Maldive island holiday and in many ways the best, but all islands have their own character and plus points.

We stayed at Kuramathi village from March 21st to 28th 2007 all inclusive. First time to the Maldives,it was fantastic, beautiful, a hidden paradise. We stayed in a deluxe beach hut, queen size bed, out door shower, fridge, beach towels, and a room boy that comes in twice a day to clean,and he returns at night to turn your sheets down on your bed.
Food was excellent always a wide range to choose from. From a buffet or a three course meal lunch and dinner, served by your own waiter which you meet at the start of your holiday and stays with you until the end. They can not please you enough.

3 course and my husband had 2 with 4 glasses of wine which came to around 86 dollars. Also the Thai restaurant does a buffet menu on a Sunday for 30 dollars each without drinks.
I would would definitely go to this particular island again, and it would be very surprising to find one better.

We went all-inclusive which we found the food & the service good.
We had the standard room which was clean but a little dated, the bathroom needed modernising, but didn\'t spoil our stay.
The walk to reception, Fung bar & main restuarant was a 10 minute stroll, which was nice as we always saw the islands wildlife, fruit bats etc so sometimes the stroll took longer, but there is a minibus to ferry the less energentic.
Staff throughout the island are friendly & polite. We had a great waiter who we had for the whole fortnight & also you keep the same table so no trying to find somewhere to sit. Food was nice, something for everyone's palette.
Entertainment was ok wasn\'t expecting live bands or weekly discos so it was good entertainment while drinking cocktails sitting on the beautiful beach

Everything perfect, great place for holiday, but be warned, there are no sun loungers allowed on the beaches on the island.
There are plenty of white plastic chairs (not at all comfortable after an hour or so) or you can lay on your towel on the sand or you can do as we felt we had to, and that was to buy expensive airbeds from the local shop $25 each.
The dive centre will blow them up for you. Had we been aware of this we would have chosen a different island.

Maggie had a holiday at Kuramathi Village, Male, Maldives in May 2006
This is a wonderful place to stay. From the minute you arrive you start to unwind and I was still unwound for at least 2 weeks after I got back and we only went for a week.
The food is good, lots of choice. All inclusive really is - very few restrictions on what was and wasnt included. The bungalows are not the newest but I went for the sun, the reef, the beach, the beauty not the room. But the rooms are cleaned 2 a day, the staff are friendly - nothing is too much trouble.
There is little entertainment but thats not what you go to the Maldives for. We would go again.

Absolutely beautiful, excellent friendly staff, excellent food, beach huts were superb, clean, spacious, air con, fridge.
1 min to beach 2 mins to entertainment and restaurant.
Has doctor surgery, which is such a bonus, not many islands have doctors.
