Malta not as spick and span as some of the Spanish resorts but made up by lovely people and it\'s history, some really good places and trips to do, try car trip on the ferry to Gozo, blue grotto, Valleta city, Grand Harbour boat trip, churches are stunning, don\'t miss the local Festa\'s and fireworks.Beaches good but can get crowded at weekends, sea is great for snorkling and swimming.

we read the horror stories about buggiba but they simple are not true the sea front is lovely with and a promenade stretching to st pauls in one direction and qwara in the other, there is sufficient restuarants and bars, we found buggiba to be an exellent base for seeing malta and would definately go back. if you want a beach holiday malta is not for you, and it would be a waste there are so many places to visit, if you miss it you miss out.

Not bad, lots of places to go out, however not that much as
in other places on Malta. Not too far from a great Golden Bay beach (on the other coast) - easy to get there by bus and
believe me it\'s worth it...:)

We stayed in St pauls Bay/Bugibba area, which is full of resterants, bars etc, and some beautiful bays etc. There is a great bus service which takes you to Sliema( no 70) only 20 mins drive where there are plenty of shops and boat trips. Its not as mad as St Julians or Sliema so if you are looking to go with family and just dine out in the evenings then this place is for you.

Bugibba has no beach at the moment so unable to rate acurately on this. A man made beach is being constructed. The resort is generally fairly clean, the biggest problem is that dog owners do not clear up after their dogs! Resort entertainment is limited but we visited in low season - this may be better in high season. All in all a very lovely resort which we visit regularly for a relaxing holiday.

We like Bugibba, we now quite a lot of people there, both ex pats and maltese, if you want rowdy try st Julians/paceville, not nice. Bugibba is easy, quietish and relaxing, you can always travel to other spots.

The cleanliness can be a bit lacking due to the amount of doggy doo! It seems that the streets are full of litter but this is because the Maltese put their bags of rubbish out each night for early morning collection
The entertainment in St Pauls and Buggiba is for all tastes if you look for it
The BEACH!!! yes buggiba now has a new man made beach.

Horrible, Horrible, Horrible. Never again, constantly harassed by time share sellers, who turn nasty and rude when you decline.

The resort is disgusting, bags of rubbish everywhere, dog dirt, litter, there is no entertainment as such just a few restaurants all serving the same old food, although if you have already booked, definitely try Malta bread, delicious.

And look for the Irish bar on a Friday night generally a good turn. would never go back.

St Pauls itself was lovely, nice small shops at main road, we used to in the evenings take a walk along the front and see locals swimming in the sea, very friendly people and would speak to you as English is their second language.

Would continue on to Bugibba, again nice shops, mostly tourist shops, then go to large square where there is lots of nice restaurants/bars where you can sit there and watch world go by, kids can play around. There was trampolines for kids to play on which they enjoyed in the evening (just beside McDonalds in Bugibba).

My husband hired boat and went fishing, he didnt catch anything but he went tour round St ...
Pauls Bay and went through caves, got off at other islands and saw St Paul\'s statue up close, it was LM20 for 5 hours and they provide you with all fishing equipment & life jackets. He went out again and took our children and their 2 friends (I don\'t do boats!!).

Valetta was fantastic, beautiful city, just 50c on bus, market on Sunday but rest of Valetta mostly closed apart from cafes, I went back myself on Saturday and the place was alive with musicians, etc.. didn\'t want to leave.

If you want beach go on approx 15 bus ride to Melihlia Bay(sorry can\'t remember spelling of it) which is to the north of the island, good sandy beach which has large inflatable island in the sea (trampolines etc) and water doesn\'t get deep for approx 50 metres which makes it safe.

The Resort was clean and tidy and walking the street in day and night were fine, the main bars and resurtants were very very good and a wide range to choose from which was nice.

The beach area is nice and tidy but a pitty not a sandy beach but the Huggy Bear cafe on the front with the day rate sun beds was very good and nice food.

I would come back to this resort again.

Bugibba is a rocky cove not a beach so if you want a beach holiday - don\'t go there. There are a few great beaches nearly (Mellieha, Golden Bay, Gneja) and these are easily accessible from Bugibba on the bus system.

The best restaurant we found was named Strawberry Grove which is located near to the BHC. It is operated by a very nice family who provided very good quality food, we used it 4 times. The resort lacks a beach but other features make up for that. Visit to dolphin, sea lion and parrot show is good for kids. Bus service is inexpensive at only 23 cents to Valleta. While at the airport I noticed there is a service from the terminal to Valleta and from there you can go anywhere on island. Did not use any taxis. Lambert and Bulter cheaper than Spain at approx 14ML but premier spirits are more expensive than UK. Will visit again.

My wife and I found as usual that it was clean and tidy as far as entertainment is concerned. There was a different artist to see every night and they were pretty good, we would not hesitate to return in the words of arnie! We shall return.

the promanade & the square where clean but as with many resorts the back streets not so,further down st pauls bay was beautiful with rock pools & fantastic views.
the square had lots of restaurants with good value wine & food, timeshare reps are a pain though be careful and try to avoid them,we saw a couple wearing badges saying we are not interested in timeshare (good idea)

The side streets are not very well made and negotiating the holes and bumps is a trial in it\'s self!Get down to the seafront and everything changes with a well made clean promenade which invites you to make the walk all tne way to Qawra or the other way to the tower. There are several refrehment stops along the way.

The resort has no beach, hence the low score, just sunbathing rocks which don\'t look very comfortable!
Early April and the resort was quiet with only a few places providing entertainment in the evening .

The resort is well situated for going out sightseeing and has good bus connections.

There was a lot of building work going on everywhere on the island but generally I would say it was clean. There is no beach at Buggiba but there is one a bit further away. The closest sea area is rocky. Out of season i didnt expect a lot but most of the tourist shops were open and most of the bars/restaurants were also open. There were also a few people about driving and walking trying to get you to look at the timeshare places but were ok once you told them you were not interested.

Terry + Tracey Francis visited here on February 2006
We found there was a lot of dog excrement on the streets and the beaches were quite littered with rubbish.

There were a few pubs and bars with entertainment if you hunted for them, but it was of mixed quality.

The thing that spoilt this resort for us was the continous harassment from timeshare reps. In a 2 hour period walking in the Bugibba, Qawra and St. Pauls area we were approached 15-20 times both on foot and in cars. Politely declining was to no avail, ignoring them resulted in us being called ignorant and rude, and more assertively declining resulted in us being told we had an attitude problem and being threatened with even more harassment.

This spoilt what was otherwise ...
an enjoyable holiday and made us reluctant to leave our hotel at times.

The resort of Bugibba dosen\'t have a beach but does have plenty of areas for swimming. We didn\'t go swimming because the weather was not suitable. There are plenty of bars and cafes.It\'s quite easy walking from one end of the resort to the other, that is from St Pauls Bay to Qwara. There where trips laid on via the rep and also the locals where running trips more or less the same as the reps. We went on the \'official\' trips and found them mainly benificial.Unfortunately the buses where on strike when we arrived so we were unable to test them out.
