I stayed here a few years ago and it gave me my first taste of Morocco. I have been back again once, travelling independently to Marrakech and Essaouira. I really liked Agadir as it is a working town as well as a beach resort, the people were really genuine and friendly, and I didn\'t get too much hassle as a woman on my own.
Hotel Kamal was great as it was situated right in the centre of town. I had a good sized room with bath, shower and bidet. The supermarket diagonally across the road (Monoprix?) had lots of bargains + snacks and wine etc.
The staff were brilliant.
I used to watch the poolboy cleaning the pool from dawn to dusk. It was a nice area to sunbathe and swim as the ...
sea was often rough, and there was minor hassle from beach sellers (but not if you sat in the roped off areas belonging to the beach hotels). A lovely beach to walk along - watch the horses cantering throught the waves, look at the amazing sand sculpures, and watch the locals play football and do their keep fit. Camels too, of course.
There was a great little snack bar called Night and Day(I think) on the seafront which served light meals, which was all I wanted in the heat, and the waiters there were really lovely. All in all, a perfect little place for a perfect little budget holiday.
