the hotel was very clean, the rooms were quite basic but i dont go on holiday to sit in the room. the pool and area were very clean, the attendant worked hard and took great pride in his job, as soon has he saw you appear near the pool off he went to get you a sunbed. the breakfast is continental but you could order extras at low prices. we ate at the hotel restraunt several times and the food was both very good and well priced. the location is a good 10-15 mins walk to the beech across a couple of busy roads but worth the walk, the promenade is great. the staff at the hotel are wonderful and nothing is to much trouble, the hotel does not lay on entertainment just a quiet bar area with t.v. but bars, shops, etc only a short walk. i would recommend this hotel as a good base to visit morocco, cheap, clean and friendly staff.

We booked this hotel after reading the reviews on this site. We have to admit they were all spot on. I have never stayed in a cleaner hotel and we have stayed in 5* hotels in many countries. Whilst the accomodation is basic it is more than adequate and is extremely comfortable, the breakfast included can be what you want it to be, with a full continental breakfast provided or a la carte items as you wish. The hotel boats a restaurant which would be the envy of any 4* hotel and the food is as good as most of the places we ate.

It would a waste of time to try and improve on the praise heaped on the staff in previous reviews.

In my opinion this hotel is the perfect hotel for a relaxed holiday.

Whilst all the above is true my one reservation would be taking my grandchildren here, the hotel layout is not child friendly and there is no entertainment at all, great for me but not for my six year old grand daughter.

What this hotel lacks in stars is more than made up for by its staff and its relaxing atmosphere.

The Hotel Kamal was only a 3 star yet I would rate it higher. The food was very basic, just bread rolls etc for breakfast, although you could buy more like boiled eggs, omlettes etc for a very cheap price.

The rooms were also basic yet roomy, and spotlessly clean, the maid cleaned twice a day. There was no entertainment as such yet there was a quiet bar near reception.

The pool was cold although in that heat myself and the kids appreciated it when we got used to it. There is also a small snack bar serving sandwiches etc which was nice.

They would also bring them over to your sunbeds, which there was plenty of. The staff were exceptional and also ready to help and the smallesst of tips were appriciated.

Although it is on a busy road this never really bothered us, we requested a pool view which was nice with a balcony. We had a television and could pay a small fee for sky which we did one night but we got few English channels.

The Hotel is in an excellent location, close to beach, shops and zoo and although there is not much entertainment for the kids they loved it and were treated like royalty.

I would highly reccomened this Hotel and will certainly be going back.

I stayed here a few years ago and it gave me my first taste of Morocco. I have been back again once, travelling independently to Marrakech and Essaouira. I really liked Agadir as it is a working town as well as a beach resort, the people were really genuine and friendly, and I didn't get too much hassle as a woman on my own.

Hotel Kamal was great as it was situated right in the centre of town. I had a good sized room with bath, shower and bidet. The supermarket diagonally across the road (Monoprix?) had lots of bargains + snacks and wine etc.

The staff were brilliant.

I used to watch the poolboy cleaning the pool from dawn to dusk. It was a nice area to sunbathe and swim as the sea was often rough, and there was minor hassle from beach sellers (but not if you sat in the roped off areas belonging to the beach hotels). A lovely beach to walk along - watch the horses cantering throught the waves, look at the amazing sand sculpures, and watch the locals play football and do their keep fit. Camels too, of course.

There was a great little snack bar called Night and Day(I think) on the seafront which served light meals, which was all I wanted in the heat, and the waiters there were really lovely. All in all, a perfect little place for a perfect little budget holiday.
