This is the third time at this hotel, once with Direct and twice with Airtours. Must admit, Airtours seem to have the better rooms. The ones we have stayed in with Airtours had air conditioning, Directs didn't.

Lovely hotel, couldn't wish for a more cleaner, friendly hotel. Keep up good work.

Kids love it, which makes it all that easier. Did't join in the clubs, but the entertainment around the pool was enough to keep them occupied and out of my hair.

FANTASTIC!!

Booked again for Summer 2005. Can't wait.

We stayed here for 2 weeks at the beginning of May 2004.

The hotel itself is lovely, with a breathtaking view of the Cala Llonga cove.

Throughout the two weeks, the hotel was mainly spotless, although the main toilets downstairs were often rather fragrant, which meant you didn't want to sit near the doors in the bar area :o

The staff are first rate, and we could not fault them at all. They were extremely helpful and polite, and I can not post without saying how amazing all tbe Bar Staff are - for the entire duration of the stay, they were friendly and entertaining, always having a laugh with the kids and adults alike.

Our room was a twin room, which was very spacious, and spotlessly clean.
There was plenty of storage space, and extra blankets available if needed

The swimming pool area is excellent, although it is a bit small for the size of the hotel, and even at early season, it filled fast, and getting a sun lounger became difficult.
Despite signs up saying that towels should not be left on sunbeds to reserve them, this was not enforced, with many people leaving their towels over them for up to the full two weeks.

There's a Sauna & Jaccuzi you can pay to use, it cost us 10euro's for an hours use.
Unfortunately the sauna blew the fuses when we went in, and the hotels technician couldnt get the sauna back on. The jaccuzi was pretty large, although very chlorinated. The staff offered us our money back for the problems, which was a nice gesture.

For the first week, we enjoyed the food, although some days, the selection was very similar.
All the food was well cooked and self service, with plenty available.
However, the second week - although running a different menu, was almost identical to the first.
We soon got fed up of everything being covered in oil - from the potato to the vegetables. Often the evenings selection was repeated for the lunchtime menu, but with slight differences.
On two days, the only choices were seafood or fish, or vegetarian dishes.
By day 10 we ended up eating out, because we were fed up with the food being the same things day in, day out.
You can ask for a packed lunch if going out, but in all honesty, I wouldn't bother - you get some rolls, butter, tuna (ew :P ) and diet coke. Ours went into the first dustbin we saw as we headed to a cafe :)

Entertainment :
We chose the hotel because we were told it had a club for 11-16's.
When we arrived, we were told that it was not open for 2004 - something we were not told in advance.
There was supposed to be a "kids disco" each evening - again we were told it was aimed at older children aswell as younger ones.. It was not a kids disco at all, it consisted of the same childrens party songs from one limited CD with 3-8 year olds playing party games - there was nothing for older children included.

The shows were on alternate nights, and were generally very entertaining, with only one or two that were a bit of a letdown. On the nights without professional acts, the entertainment team ran things like Bingo, and game shows - these were very entertaining and fun.

During the day, there were a number of activities organised, such as Pool, Shooting, Football etc - but mainly aimed at the adults, rather than 11-16's

We have 2 boys, then 11 & 12, who got bored a lot, as they were looking forward to the club activities.

We complained to the rep about the lack of activities for them, and she promised to look into it, and promptly disappeared after about 3 days.
What we didn't know was she had been replaced with another rep, who never introduced herself, none of us knew she was our new rep until the last day.

When we found out - at the airport - that she had been there for the last 10 days, we complained to her about the lack of notice that there had been a rep change. She seemed suprised that the outgoing rep hadn't informed us, and, that no one at the hotel - or the previous rep - had told us that the reason the kids club was closed, was because the Sirenis Club Imperial, next door, was running the club for BOTH hotels until the high season.
So, for 2 weeks, our kids could have been taking part in the activities we had paid for as part of the premium option Airtours give.

Drinks :
As it is an all-inclusive, the choice on drinks is very limited.
The bar and restaurant use vending machines for tea, coffee etc. After one cup of coffee, I went to the mini-mart over the road for some sachet's of Nescafe - the coffee was about the worst I have ever tasted (think 49p a jar from Kwik Save).
There are no tea-making facilitied in the rooms, so from 11pm until 8am there's no wasy to get a drink.

Alcohol wise, the bar offers a basic range of cheap brand drinks.
The lager available is not the best - supermarket budget brand level.
Spirits on offer were whiskey, vodka, gin, "Bailey's" type liquer, tequila, a Malibu type and Tia Maria (funnily not a cheaper brand)

All drinks are served in disposable plastic cups, and
spirit measures were, to say the least, large - a Vodka and Cola was a half-pint sized cup, with about 80% vodka, 20% coke

For the kids, there's the vended "juice" (I use that word loosely), and draught Pepsi, Fanta and Lemonade from the bar.

The main bar also has a snack bar, offering chips, burgers, hotdogs and a small variety of sandwiches.

These were supposed to be on offer for a minimum of 12 hours a day, but after 5 or 6 days, they started opening later and closing earlier, by the end of 2 weeks, it was open 11am - 10pm

Unfortunately, the food and the total lack of activities for 11-16 year olds mean we would never visit again - which is a pity, as the resort is lovely (if small), and the hotel has so much potential.

We will certainly never book through a company such as MyTravel again, and will be DIY'ing it in future.

We first visited the Club Playa Hotel when my first son who is now 6 was 9 months old, we returned again when he was 4 and have now booked to go with our other two children and oldest son this year.

We have been to other All Inclusive Hotels and nothing beats this by far.

The staff are very very friendly and hopefully when we go again this year we will recognise some of them.

Everything about this hotel is brilliant very clean and a nice friendly warm atmosphere.

Can't wait to go again this year.
