Hotel clean and maid service very good. The pool area was good and the childs play area was very good although you had to entered via steps.
The location was excellent just a few mins from beach and all the bars. The hotel staff were friendly and very helpful if you needed anything. Entertainment in the hotel was not that good, bingo run by guest because an act had not turned up was about as good as it gets (bingo not for me).

We had a 2 bedroom apt at the Atlantic with views of the fantastic pool which had ample sunbeds. This hotel was spotless with lots of mod cons such as Microwave, toaster, kettle, flat screen tv, hairdryers(one in each bathroom)and you don't pay extra for air con. Maids were in everyday and did a good job. We had apt P1 which was on the same floor as reception so no need for stairs or lifts. We didn't stay in for evening entertainment as we like to venture out so I can't really comment. Michael did a good job keeping everyone entertained during the day, with killer pool and water basket ball etc. Not me though, I like my sunbed and book too much. All in all a great hotel and we would return

On arriving at this hotel we expected like it said in the brochure '4 star'. This is certainly not of four star quality. To begin with we had a one bedroomed apartment. The kitchen was in a cupboard that had to be opened in order to use. It was an almost impossible task to use the kitchen successfully because there was no space to stand once the doors were open, no work space, no where to put a kettle and no restaurant on site. The bathroom was of similar design. The shower shield couldn't be moved and so it was impossible to bath two children safely. The bath and tap water was brown- agreed by all who stayed there and the toilet was very smelly after each flush. The childrens pool is up a flight of steps and therefore difficult with a trolley and numerous blow up toys. The entertainment was good and so are the reception staff. However having stayed at other first choice properties which are four star and have been excellent this hotel needs regrading to a 2/3 star.

We were booked into a studio, but pleasantly surprised by the room, ample space. Kitchen area is small but adequate for basics. All mod cons. Plenty of hot water even though it was brown!
Maid cleaned everyday. No First Choice kids club in operation for 2007. Two on site German entertainers did well. Three evening entertainment acts were very good others passable.
Close to shops, bars, restraunts and beach.
Would definitely visit again.

My husband and I had a late deal through First Choice, and after seeing the previous reviews on the system, we were a bit concerned.

However, we were pleasantly surprised. The hotel was very clean and tidy, with staff clearing up very quickly when we had left the tables.

The food was very basic, but neither of us starved. It would have been a little more helpful if the food was labeled....there was competition each day to see if either of us know what the soup was at lunch and dinner!

There was loads of sunbeds, tables and chairs around the pool, so no problems there.....although there was still a few people who put their towels on the sunbeds before breakfast!

The entertainment......we only saw the Parrot Show and
this didn't inspire us to watch the entertainment on another evening. This was not a problem for us, as we walked to the small harbour and beach on an evening.

We never book the excursions at the welcome meeting...we like to have a good look round etc for a couple of days. However, we were unable to discuss any trips with the rep after the first few days, as it would appear that the poor man was very thinly spread between hotels, airport duties etc. I know we had a phone number to contact if we needed anything, but I feel that we shouldn't need to go to lots of trouble to spend our money.

Perhaps its just us...but I would much rather have the personal touch. As it happens, mid week we decided we would like to go on a few outings, but as there was no one at hand to discuss the options, we went out on the bus instead.....and saved ourselves some money!!

We booked this holiday through First Choice for a relaxing holiday! We really loved this hotel as I am really fussy with cleanliness, it was spotless.

The rooms are decorated very modern with flat screen tv, spotlights, marble worktops, enclosed kitchen, what can i say it was fab.. We had a kids den because we wanted a bigger room with a playstation for the late nights we had having a few wines on the large balcony. The other rooms are over looking the pool and still quite big as we used one of them as a late room on the day we left. They were cleaned daily plus the maids didnt come till after 11am so there was no rush in the morning if you had a late night.

The staff couldn't do enough for you at reception, the bar even the lifeguard.

It was only a few minutes from the beach but because whatever time of day you arrived by the pool you could have a pick of sunbeds wherever you wanted we relaxed there while the kids 14, 10, 6, had fun.

Even though it was self catering the hotel pool side bar offered food such as salads, rolls, toasties & burgers which were all lovely and prepared in view!

We stayed at this hotel 10 years ago and had a great holiday, so were worried about returning after reading reports on here but it turned out there was nothing to be concerned about.

I had rung the hotel a few days before to request a room on a high floor with a pool view and was told by the very nice english speaking woman that my room had already been allocated on the 3rd floor overlooking the road, and the hotel was full but if I checked with her a couple of days after checking in she would see what she could do.

On arrival (at 3.30am!) we were given a key to a room on the 5th floor (top floor) with a pool view so that was a very good start!

Nothing had changed much in 10 years, but that's not a bad thing. Rooms are cleaned every day by friendly chambermaids (not under the bed - lots of dust under there - and the sheets were only straightened on the beds, not re-made), and there were fresh towels every day so overall, perfectly acceptable. The maid left the patio door open every day after cleaning - not sure why but from a security point of view not too happy with that.

Pool and public areas very clean and well cared for.

Reception - mainly english speaking staff, always polite and helpful.

Entertainment - good for children although I enjoyed the magician and the puppet shows as much as the kids did! If the entertainment is held inside, there are a lot of pillars in the room that obstruct your view so get there early - cabaret never starts until 10pm anyway. There was always something on in the daytime, mostly water polo which was taken over by the men showing their competitive side but there was diving and aerobics too and the pool has a life guard.

Food - same view on the soup as a previous report but it always tasted nice! The usual cooked breakfast (if you wanted it) with english sausages!!! and cereals etc. Too many 'chip' nights for my liking - only because it's bad for the diet!, but how many variations to a potato are there?! You have to have some accompanient. Abundance of salads, no special kids meals - which, as we went without kids didn't matter to us but there was always pizza every night as a last resort - just time it when they first bring it out - those lights don't keep it hot for long. One dish cooked in front of you fresh every night. Surprised to have jelly as one of the desserts every night - and never the same flavour twice! Only downside was the evening meal didn't start until 7.30pm which was a bit late.

If you don't go all inclusive, there is a Spa shop behind the hotel - they do the cheapest bottled drinks and are very friendly and helpful.

If you like to watch a bit of TV of an evening after a hard day in the sun, or have kids who need an early night, channel 5 is english but will switch from ITV to BBC1 to CH4 from hour to hour. You can request certain channels for certain times with reception and they are pretty accomodating.

The Es Cana hippy market is not as good as it use to be - for a better variation on goods for sale, (lovely jewelery) go to the market at Las Dalias on a Saturday (I think). No buses go there but it's not far by taxi and the most it will cost you is 7 euro's. Ask for details at reception.

We would recommend this hotel to friends and family. Good location with the beach on your doorstep, and shops for supplies right across the road. Were told that a few years ago it was popular with other nationalities and the staff didn't seem to want english there but we saw no evidence of that this year - in fact, non english were in the minority. In our opinion, if you choose this hotel, you won't have a bad holiday.

The Hotel has been fully refurbished to 4 star self catering standards and stands 5 Min's walk from the resort centre and beach.

The rooms are spacious and very well appointed with modern furniture, flat screen TV's, small kitchenette, big beds, bathrooms with bath and shower hairdryer etc.

The staff can't do enough for you from reception through to the bar and cleaning staff, maids were in every day for towel changes and room cleaning.

We had an issue that our 3 year old could reach the handle to unlock and open the balcony door but after flagging our concern a maintenance man was sent straight up to fit a secondary high level lock to the door and that was typical of the attitude of looking after the guests superbly.
Pool area always had plenty of beds and a full time life guard, though the kids pool is fairly small.

We tend to go out on an evening but the hotel did have regular entertainment along the kids disco, singing act etc line.

After reading reports on here me and my boyfriend were a bit concerned what to expect. What a shock we had. It was the best holiday we've had.

The room was spotless, cleaned everyday. The food was better than we thought it would be, it wasn't 5* but we wasnt in a 5* hotel. We couldn't complain there was always something to eat.

The staff were really friendly they were pleasant some of them had a grumpy face sometimes but you would working long hours like they do.

The rep Joel was brilliant we had lots of fun joining in the hotels club song "sunshine for me" dancing on stage with the friends we made there, you all know who you are...There was plenty to do by the pool everyday, the night time was sometimes a bit boring but we all still managed to have a good laugh.

We would definitely look at going back in fact we are all looking at going back next year.

These apartments have been completely been refurbished for 2007 and are now 4 star. They are fantastic with all mod cons such as flat screen tvs, up to date microwaves, toasters etc.

They are spotlessly clean with maid service every day with towel change every 2nd day. All staff are really friendly. There are 2 on site entertainers who work hard providing entertainment for kids during day and shows at night.

The complex is in a very good location -5 mins walk to main area of Es Cana and beach. The only negative thing i wud say about them is that the kiddies pool is located away from the main pool so its difficult if a family have young children and older children because you could not supervise them as pools in different locations on the complex.

Although there is a full time lifegaurd at the main pool.
