We visited this hotel in July 2007. Although a 3 star hotel officially, the standard was very good and it was clean. Not enough staff to cope with high season clearing of tables and drinks service at meal times. They all worked hard though and were very pleasant. Our room was cleaned by midday every day and the hard working cleaning lady was very helpful if you needed extra pillows etc. Nothing particulary special about the room. It was not a large room but the air conditioning coped well with the July heat. Double bed seemed quite small.Curtains and bedding had seen better days but the room was comfortable. Worst point was the long narrow, hard and uncomfortable pillows with nylon inner covers. It was a quiet room overlooking a side street. The balcony never saw the sun but there was a side sea view from it. Balcony metal fences needed some upgrading and were corroding badly.

Bar prices were expensive we thought. We didn't bother much with the entertainment which others seemed to enjoy. Long trousers were insisted upon in the dining room. Some special dinner nights with a cocktail handed out on the way to dinner were organised and there was a cruise ship sort of feel (but on dry land) on occasion.

The food was not out of the ordinary but there was good choice in some areas eg always fruit baskets of every kind of fruit though often this fruit was hard rather than ripe and repetative trays of melon and pineapple were served at every evening meal and at breakfast. All fruit juice was served at room temperature and never cooled. We prefer cold fruit juice.Sweets were quite varied. Main courses were run of the mill. Full English breakfast available daily but the customary streaky bacon tended to be hard and overdone. Slow to replace finished trays but really they could have done with more staff. Sometimes meals got cold because you had to wait for fresh trays to come out of kitchen.

Tables in the dining room were placed regimentally in long rows of tables for two.Tables too small for putting used plates to the side. As I said before, more staff were needed to keep these small tables clear. There was very little space between tables. Difficult to move between them. However if you were lucky enough to get an outdoor table this was a much more spacious setting and more relaxed away from the bustle of food queues. This was a very limited area though of about a dozen tables. Pool sunbeds were also crushed together with no space in between.

The hotel is set beside the harbour and handy for boat trips to Santa Eulalia where you had to change boat for anywhere else on the island. The little land train which took you into the country was also stationed outside the hotel. The square where you can catch buses to other resorts is near to the hotel also. Good location. Strong sewage smell at bootom of road leading up to hotel though.

When we were leaving we were told that we were entitled to have our evening meal but my husband wore 3/4 length trousers for the journey home which atttracted a very managerial lady who came to enquire why he had worn these into the dining room? When he explained that we were about to go home, she didn't even smile or ask if we had enjoyed our holiday. She was rather like a head teacher scolding a pupil and that is how my husband felt. I think she must have been the manager. Very stern.

I think we'd still go back though. Child-free is great when you have brought up your family and earned the right to some peace and quiet.

Just returned from 10 days at this hotel and it has 2 major faults.

1) Food, which was very poor and not up to a Gold hotel standard.

2) The Sea View Rooms which we booked offer a good view of the main street and all the bars around, so a good nights sleep, is very hard.

Be warned so of the other rooms offer side street views and are just as bad.

The staff are first class and entertainment is good.

We have visited this Hotel on many previous occassions, but were very disappointed this time. Standards have slipped drastically, especially in the restaurant.

The staff (few that they were)were still very friendly and helpful but were hopelessly outnumbered by the visitors and just could not cope.

Most of the top management (with the exception of the Manager) have now gone to another resort Hotel and boy has this made a difference.

Thompson reps were trying very hard to please - but did not want to hear complaints and tried to make excuses rather than solve problems. Final icing on the cake was 1.5 hours return journey to airport!

Sorry but based on this last visit - we wont be visiting again.

Just got back from this hotel and what a fab hol we had.

We got there 5 days after opening so not too busy. The staff service was excellent one of the best we'd known, but as we were due to come home the hotel was very full and staff were still being recruited for the dining room.

The waiter service by the pool and evening were first class service the hotel was spotless and food of very good standard. The hotel location was fabulous for our needs and resort not too busy,

Having been to gold hotels 35 times I would definitely recommend this one for an early May and perhaps Sept/Oct holiday.

Well done to the Panorma Marina!

If you thinking of booking a sea view at this hotel then you should be made aware that there is a bar, Charlies Bar very close to the hotel which caters mainly for the Brits, i.e. bingo, quiz nights and karioke , it is open late, 4am, the main problem seems to be that Brits on holiday can't say goodnight quietly, they have to SHOUT over and over again, the sea view is stunning but the lack of sleep many guests mentioned is not worth it. Book a pool view room, at least then you that the " entertainment " knocks it on the heat about 12.15 am.

The hotel is fab, one of the best Gold hotels we have stayed in, many people return year after year and I can see why. The food is superb, piping hot, there must be gas jets under the trays, you can see the food bubbling away. Plenty of choice, salads , hot meats etc.

The entertainment is a bit hit and miss, we went out most nights, getting back to catch the end but most people seemed to enjoy it. The drinks are a bit pricey but not over the top considering that its a Gold hotel.

This is a 3* Thomson Gold hotel and pretty much offers what the brochure tells you. Most areas were kept clean and the maid had our room clean before mid-day all through our holiday.

In the restaurant there was a wide choice of food available, unfortunately the main buffet was never very hot, but the food from the show cooking area was always piping hot and very good. The hotel was full whilst we were there and the restaurant staff had a job to re-set the tables and to clear the plates between courses.

The receiption staff were really friendly and most of the staff we had contact with were nice. One or two of the bar waiters would hang around for a tip when they served you, which I found a little uncomfortable, but most of them were very happy whether you tip them or not.

The Thomson Gold team, were not a good a those we have encountered in the past. The entertainment team who arranged the daily activities did not seem to work well together, and some of the evening entertainment left a lot to be desired. The Thomson Gold team who came in to do two shows whilst we were there, were very good as were a couple of the singer/comedians who came in.

The Thomson reps, were not very friendly, often looking away if you looked in their direction at the reps desk (their customer service skills definately need improvement). The only way to get their interest was if you wanted to book a Thomson Trip.

We found the Reception staff more helpful with enquiries about getting about on your own.

The food was excellent with plenty of variety. The restaurant areas are spacious and relaxing. It would be nice to have a table allocated to you rather than trying to find a 'free' table when you enter the restaurant. We enjoyed sitting outside the main restaurant on the patio area.

Our room was cleaned every day and the maid was very efficient. It is quite a large hotel and all the bars/lounges/reception/pool/toilet areas are very clean and tidy. The pool did seem to have a lot of insects/dirt in it by the end of the day but this was cleaned up ready for the next day.

The hotel location couldn't be better, overlooking the small bay. As I mentioned earlier the patio spot just outside the main restaurant is lovely to sit and people watch.

We found all the staff at the hotel to be friendly and happy and actually enjoying their work. How refreshing! The reps were excellent and we found them to be very approachable and happy to help us with any queries we had. They worked very hard with their entertainment show, which was good fun to watch. Every effort was made by all involved in the running of this hotel to ensure you had a fabulous holiday.

We would return if we needed a quiet week in the sun to relax and recharge our batteries with all the comforts of home. Many of the guests return year after year and we can understand why. Well done Hotel Panorama Marina.

We had asked for a quiet room when we booked this holiday. We did not get one even though we paid for (and got) a superior room.

The nightly entertainment is loud and intrusive and doesn't finish until midnight. The standard is very poor. The only quiet rooms are with sea or side view rooms.Having said that, the hotel itself is excellent with beautiful superior rooms, very friendly and helpful staff.

The freeform pool is a delight and being a Thomson Gold hotel completely child free. The only downside being towels on sunbeds by 06.00 in the morning. This need to be addressed.

The food was good and the waiters were brilliant. The Al a Carte option being a lovely touch.

We will definitely be going back but making sure we have that quiet room.

On arrival our first impressions were surprised as the hotel is only open for 6 months of the year and we arrived the 3rd day of the season.

The hotel was spotless and the pool area (although not used because it was too cold) was spectacular. Huge number of umbrellas and loungers. There were only about 40 couples which made it very friendly and sociable.

The entertainment team really looked after us well and the nightly shows were of a very high standard. Unfortunatly it let itself down on the catering front. The buffet-style restaurant seating is from 6-9pm but if you go from 8pm onwards the food was not as hot as it should have been, and some dishes appeared to have been sat there a while.

A nice touch was the A la carte evenings which you do not pay extra for but is limited to once a week.

The hotel is well situated but the area outside is comparatively small with a walk either left or right 10 mins maximum. Other than that you have to take a bus/taxi.

The only reason I would not return is because we like to go somewhere different each time.

After careful research and checking previous reviews we chose the Marina Panorama as our first Thomson Gold holiday.

We had a sea view and were pleased with the size of the room and a nice touch was the bottle of water on arrival.

The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, and yes we still try to beat the Germans with the towels, but we were all British, so we are no better, this is a culture which is difficult to explain why this happens.

There was a nice sun terrace and plenty of sun loungers at any time of the day. The pool was regularly cleaned and a life guard on duty right through the day. The entertainment was generally good. Some noise was heard when Charlies was chucking out at 4.00am but this never lasted very long, just people making there way home after a good night out.

There was a good choice for dinner and breakfast. We ate alfresco all through the 2 weeks, but do try the a la carte, we thoroughly enjoyed this all washed down with a bottle of cava.

Another nice touch was at the end of each day a waiter would come around the pool and sun terrace and offer a piece of pineapple or melon or both if you wanted it. We did the Gold Island tour and felt this was over priced at 55 euro each, should be about 35 euro. The Thomson reps Heather and Georgia worked their socks off to keep the entertainment coming right throughout the day and night.

This was a chill out holiday which was achieved because there were no children. We would recommend this hotel to our friends and family but next year will try another Gold hotel.
