The hotel is located on the northern edge of Cala Bona, about a 10 - 15 min walk from the harbour. However, if you don't like walking, the "tourist train" and a number of local buses both stop right outside the hotel, as does the courtesy bus for the Safari-Zoo in Sa Coma. So location wise, not great if you like to be in the centre of things, but it suited us fine.

Budget Travel appear to have the bulk of the business at this hotel so it is predominantly, though not exclusively, an Irish clientelle

The apartment itself we found to be clean and tidy and pretty much what you would expect from a hotel with this rating (3 key). It is also air conditioned which is a big big bonus. The layout of the apartment is a bit odd -Its sort of corridor style - from the living area, you have to walk through the bedroom to get to the bathroom. Not a problem really (just a bit odd!).

The kitchenette is small but you've got a fridge, 2 rings, a toaster and kettle + sufficient pans, etc, so if you do want to eat in on occasions (as we do), with a little ingenuity, you can get by.

Maid service - 6 days a week, including clean towels. Sheets changed twice during the fortnight we were there.

Our apartment (B201) was at the end of a block so had the advantage of 2 extra windows in the side wall of the living area (none in the bedroom though)+ a small window in the bathroom. Others only had the patio doors onto the balcony and (I suspect) were a bit dark. From our apartment we also had a view of the pool and the stage area were the entertainment was held. Possible not everyone preference but we liked it because:

1 - Our kids at 10 & 8 felt the Kids Club was full of very young kids and preferred to go to the pool. We could keep an eye on them from the balcony without having to be poolside all the time. (NB there is also a lifeguard on duty - another bonus)

2 - The entertainment team worked very hard, to be fair. But lots of miming to sound tracks and audience participation games if you like that kind of thing. It improved a bit after a good few drinks!! This links in to what is probably the only significant negative thing I can really say about the Isabel - we found the bar rather overpriced compared to other places in town & the entertainment usally not enough to intice us down to pay those kind of prices (Noteable exception - once a week when they bring in a "live" act). So we could sit on the balcony, drink cheaply, & watch if we wanted to.

Could be a bit noisy in the bar area at night, but, having air conditioning means you can close the windows, which helps. If you like to go to bed early or are a light sleeper you will want an apartment away from the pool area

Other comments about entertainment - they organise activities for all ages, including teens & adults - eg football, archery, water polo, market visits, boat trips. Although we preferred to do our own thing, it's there if you want it.

We only ate in the hotel restaurant once. It was alright, but much better choice and value to be had in the town.

The shop on site is dear. Use the one in the hotel across the road or, if you don't mind walking, the BIP near the harbour.

If I was coming back to Cala Bona I would happily book the Ola Isabel again, All in all a very enjoyable stay.

I stayed here in August 2004 and it was the best holiday i've ever been on!I enjoyed every single moment of it and if you go i'm positive you will too!

The hotel was very clean with everything you need in it including an indoor pool which was really clean and heated, laundry service which was quite handy and lifts in every block etc.

The food there was beautiful with a large selection on the menu!It is in a great location with plenty of excursions to keep you entertained! It has a little shop in the hotel and a huge supermarket right accross the road!

The hotel staff were very pleasant in every part of the hotel and very good at their jobs. The entertainment was faboulous with karaokes etc. every evening.

I would definitely return to this hotel and probably will some day for even longer!

I would also recommend it to anyone thinking of going to Majorca!
