Stayed all inclusive at Sol Balmoral. Got a cheap deal and got what we paid for.

Room was clean with fresh towels daily (even when I hung them out to dry!) althhough balcony was never swept leading to ant colony moving in.

Food was repeatative but satisfactory standard.

Walking distance to local town and shop next door.

Kids club was fantastic but adult evening entertainment had its low lights!

Last few days there was no chocolate milkshake or icecream at bar, gradually all still dranks ran dry. I know they were closing on 31st Oct but there were still holiday makers there that paid full price.

Overall apart from last few days it was fine.

Four staff at busy times on bars hardly any waiting. Hotel clean.

Food excellent. Mussels, prawns, sirloin steak, good salad bar, warm french bread at all meal times.

Out of way but bus stop outside hotel takes you anywhere on island. Staff brilliant.

Not my type of entertainment but what suits one doesn't suit another. Would visit again only for a week. Parts of hotel need updating but all in good value for money. We went aoa and paid 225.

Booked very last minute- (day before) when we arrived at the hotel- they had no booking for us, then said they didn't have a room for us and the rep just left us at the hotel to fend for ourselves(thanks JMC).

We eventually got put into a room in the back of beyond which was really grotty, (you might want to take the strongest toilet cleaner around, disinfectant and a feather duster. only plus was that this was an apartment so we had a fridge.

We were only there for three nights so we just kind of put up with the grime cos there was nothing else.

Lots of choice for food- usual buffet style but something for everyone, (possibly think the all inclusive drinks were watered down in the bottles cos drinking all day and still not fresh!).

Some of the hotel staff seemed quite grumpy, entertainment was aimed at younger end but funny to watch.

Out of two main pools - better off with the one by the tennis courts as far less rowdy than the one near the main complex, but downside was they only served non-alcoholic drinks.

Only one bar in the hotel which had rather long ques sometimes - plus only serve lager in halves.

The hotel rooms in the main complex were a lot nicer than apartment - try to get one of those.

Food was ok but somestimes repetitive.

On arrival we were told the hotel was fully booked and were told to stay in an apartment for one night. The apartment was grotty, dirty, smelly and dropping to bits.

In fact the hotel itself neeeds a full refurb it is circa 1970. We refused to stay in the apartment and asked for another hotel, then the receptionist said they did have a room available!! We went to the room which was an improvement on the apartment, but it was not big enough for 4 and one bed was squashed against the patio door which did not lock - not safe when you have children.

The pool was grubby, my kids had rashes off the water, so we spent our whole holiday at the 2 sister hotels which were much nicer.

Some of the restaurant staff were rude.

Very pleased with the standards at the Balmoral. The room was a little small with 3 adults but was kept very clean by the maids as was the rest of the Hotel.

The bar staff were very pleasent and kept the tables around the patio area very clean. Nice to see people putting thier waste in the bins provided.

The food was of a good standard and choice and a chef was always doing some type of live cooking no matter what meal you were in for.

The resort shopping area was compact and had all you needed. Prices were very competative for items such as T Shirts, shorts and flip flops. The bar prices were a little high with a lot of bars being more expensive than in the U.K.

The enterainment team were as good as any I have seen at an A/I hotel. Most people staying at the hotel vere A/I, but the half board and self catering guests could upgrade to A/I if they wanted.(you must upgrade for at least 1 week) But I would suggest if you wanted A/I it would be cheaper to book this way when booking your holiday

We have just returned from the Balmoral having had the worst holiday we have ever been on.

The room they put us in first I would not let my dog sleep in. It the smell when we walked in was terrible when we complained at reception they knew about it but they still put us in there. The room was at the front of the hotel where there was a strong smell of effluent every night. Bins around the pool were never emptied our room was never swept properly hair was left on the bathroom floor for days. We picked it up ourselves in the end.

Kids running riot day and night messing about in the lifts perhaps that's why they kept breaking down.

The hotel is in need of full upgrading. The 2 sister hotels in the Sol group are 3* but the Balmoral is only 1-2*.

The food was very repetitive mostly pork and one morning there was dried out peas and carrots what is all that about no imagination at all. The fruit was left for days wrinkly old apples and bruised fruit everywhere. The dining room is also very small with crammed in tables get there early because the bainmaries do not keep the food hot for long.

Mostly the staff were very pleasant but a couple in the dining area could be very moody you will see which ones I mean.

The hotel bar is also expensive if you are not all inclusive.

The entertainment is all done by their own team we went into town every night for 2 for1 at the Flamingo from 7 till 11-30 and the Irish bar to watch sky because the telly in Balmoral only had one channel ITV.

I would never visit this hotel again or the resort itself.

Well when we got to the airport we were moved into the Balmoral from the 2 sister hotels and when we got there we were disappointed with the size of the room as it was a twin bedroom for a family of 4.

The entertainment was fantastic with the shows and live music all day. Loads of kids running around the hotel, but loads to do for kids and teenagers.

Staff were really friendly.

The food was quite good but was very repeating and not much apart from chips and pizza if you don't eat much variety of foods.

The hotel is in a really nice place right by the beach and a 5 minute walk to the main town with loads to do.

The 2 pools were nice apart from a bit boring and much to deep!! Both pools went up to about 12 feet!! and the kids pools were to shallow.

There are buses and coach tours to go on trips around the island which were also really good.

The beach was lovely and so was the sea.

The hotel is good for a family holiday just wanting to relax and have a good time.

We actually stayed in the Balmoral's sister hotels (Sol Chihaushaus/Mastines)

The hotel was brilliant, we had great sea views a lovely big room with balcony and there is a good entertainment team working through out the day.

The Hotels were very clean with maid service daily. The hotel has a buffet restaurant where you can choose from many different meals each day.
