We have just returned from Hotel Marina Luz and had a great holiday. As expected after staying in a Marina Hotel before, the standards were exceptionally high, in particular the cleanliness of the hotel, both reception area, public rooms, and guest rooms.
The staff are very helpful and nothing seems to be a problem to them, and they really do smile a lot. The only downside was the food which, although adequate, was rather uninteresting, however it was well cooked and nicely presented, but one felt the need to go out to eat just for an interesting meal.
This would not deter me from stayin at this hotel in the lovely little resort. We have had a great holiday and will be back for another visit in April 2006.

First impressions, walk into the reception - you know that this is a good place to be staying. Staff very pleasant on arrival and throughout the stay.
Rooms were cleaned daily to a very high standard (we were on the fifth floor (airport side) noise not at all bad).
Catering to a very good standard but some days found a slight let down, other days far to many choices that we liked - you can`t cater for all tastes all the time but they try very hard to do so.
Bar staff excellent and really do their best to please - especially during the evening shows when their services are stretched to the maximum.
Entertainment excellent every evening and Ben the entertainments guy (who unfortunatley is going back to France this week) was fantastic - He really knew how to get people involved without over pushing things. Had a great time playing French Boules ( his term ) most afternoons.
Made many friends - who go back each year - some have been going back the same weeks for up to 15 years - must say something about this Hotel - looks like we will be starting on our long run !!!!

Visited this hotel last two weeks in September 2004.
The staff are some of the friendliest people you could wish to meet. Everyone from the manager who always had time for a word, waiters, reception, bar staff all the girls in the restaurant and Maria who had just taken over in charge of games and entertainment, she was a breath of fresh air, hope she is back for next year.
Close to the airport but but was not put off, in fact lying on your sun bed found them quite interesting.
Would also like to point out the cycle track that follows the coast and will take you right into Palma, exellent.

The hotel was really clean and the staff were friendly. The food wasn't great but it was decent enough. They tried to mix their own (Spanish) food with English foods and i must say it worked very well. The rooms were really clean and the room we had was on the top floor and we had a sea view. On the day that we were going home, We didn't keep on our room and so they provided us with a courtesy room to take a shower/bath and to get dressed, etc. The bathrooms were decent and the towels were always spotless. The bar area was good and the entertainment was OK. They had a TV area with english channels and they has a chess set, several jigsaws and books. There was also a rest area where you could sitn the sofas or chairs and just relax or read. The pool was always clean and although it wasn't that big it was still enough to keep my children occupied. Also the entertainer (Ben) was very good ad he used to play games with all the children there. The First Choice rep (Alex) Was always there to help and advise you. This holiday was allocated on arrival and we were put in a great hotel, I really enjoyed my stay there and would definitely recommend it.

Agree with the comments made by Kim & Chris. Hotel was excellent - only a (very) short walk to shops, bars, beaches etc..
Excellent for couples, only saw a few children all week. The facilities were good and we've never met such friendly staff. A great range of food for both evenings and breakfast time and the restaurant was very clean. Bars prices were 3 euros for a local beer and 2 euros for a glass of wine.
On arrival we were concerned about the aeroplane noise (especially if your room isn't on the swimming pool side), but after the first day we didn't notice it. Saturday is by far the worst day for planes taking off. Don't let that put you off staying here - you won't be disappointed.

As soon as we arrived at the hotel i thought this was going to be a nice place to stay. The reception was spotless and the man serving was very helpful. The room was also spotless and had a great bathroom with bath/shower, even the beds were comfortable and the air conditioning was a great bonus in the 30 degree heat. The only thing that was annoying was you had to have a German philosophy when trying to get a sun bed, when getting up early on morning for a trip out some people had there towels on the sunbeds at 07:50. The food in the restaurant was very good, for breakfast there was serial,rolls,fruit,cheeses and of course the full english with two different types of sausage and bacon,beans,hash browns,scambled eggs and fried eggs. The staff were very help full and friendly and couldnt do enough for you. All in all one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in.

This hotel does itself proud and we have stayed at 4 & 5 star hotels where the food does not compare.
The hotel is situated right by a rocky beach with only a short walk to the Arenal a 7km long beach resort with miles of soft sandy beach.
The airport is a very short distance away and if you enjoy planes you can see them very clearly taking off and coming in for landing. The noise level from the planes is not too bad and for us was an advantage as we enjoyed watching the planes.
The variation in food was wonderful with an abundance of freshly cooked food prepared right in front of you every evening.
The rooms were spotless and the views from all areas of the hotel fantastic.
This hotel has everything you could wish for in a hotel with a large pool that is immaculately kept with plenty of activities laid on for those who need things to do. However, the staff are well enough trained to leave you alone in peace if you just want to relax in the sun.
A lovely experience is the Luz Marina and I would recommend it to anyone.

This hotel has excellent food and is wonderful value for money.
The planes are noisy but we loved watching them land and depart.

We stayed at the Hotel Marina Luz. What a fantastic place for couples - not a child in sight the whole 2 weeks. Plenty of sunbathing space and plenty of room in the pool. Food was excellent - great choice and the restaurant was spotless clean. Staff were great - we laughed from morning till night competing in the hotel games etc! Not an ideal choice for the young and lively but if you enjoy good company and joining in the activities you'll love it. We found most people we met had been going to this hotel for years - we will definately go back to meet up with friends we made there.

My wife and I stayed her 4 times last year, (2002) that should say it all, but I can not fail to mention Pillar Torres the manager, and all the rest of the staff, not the top hotel by * rating, but personally we cant wait to get back. Such genuine staff and service should not go unmentioned.
