This was truly a last minute booking; I booked the day before we flew and we could not have picked a better hotel!
The staff were so helpful, nothing was too much trouble. They even phoned around to help us locate a lost camera. The Rep was also very helpful, she knew the area really well and didn't spend all her time selling us trips.
The rooms were comfortable and clean and although we had a back room with no view to speak of we did get the sun right through until late evening on to the balcony which was a real bonus. Large wardrobe & a secure safe plus enough power points to be of use.
Bathrooms were clean & the showers were good & hot too.
The only downsides were the walls in the bathrooms were a little thin so you could here next doors shower running (but no conversations luckily!) The hotel is very close to the airport so there is some noise and it is about a 10 minute stroll to the shops from the hotel but none of these points would stop me going back again.
We loved the resort, the hotel, the location and everything about our holiday.
The Luz Marina deserves its ***** stars!

Visited the hotel late June 2002. Found it first class in every respect. Set in a quiet residential location at Cala Estancia but within 250 yards of a sandy beach, bars, restaurants shops and the marina.
The hotel entertainment was as good as we've seen anywhere. Many varied acts during the 10 days we stayed. The animation leader, Harvey was exellent. The food was plentiful, varied and of good quality . The staff were friendly, caring and very efficient. the only small critisism we could find was that the spotless pool area was a bit cramped and at 8.00 a.m. you had to join the queue with the other Brits to get your place reserved (and yet not a German in sight). The outdoor patio area had plenty of tables and chairs. The hotel is close to the airport flight path so some noise is to be expected depending on direction of take off. We enjoyed watching the aircraft but some plane spotters actually request rooms on the airport side of the hotel and bring their short wave radios and binoculars. A bonus was the airport transfer time of about 4 minutes. We would recommend the Luz Marina if you want a friendly, high quality hotel in a quiet area and like to spend your holiday with other English speakers.
