I stayed in the Martinque in June 2005 for my hen party, there was 17 of us there for 5 days.

Based on the price we were quite worried and were expecting a bit of a dump. This was not a package holiday and therefore did not have the safety net of rep. Nevertheless from the minute we got there these original thoughts didn't matter.

It was great, room quite spacious compared to previous holidays. big balcony and living room area. Perfect for a girlie holiday/hen party. The general cleaniness of the hotel was fine, with no complaints, however I do not re call our room being cleaned ( but that might of been me not remembering!!)

Pool area was great nice big pool and pool bar. not many sunbeds though, we had to buy lilos to lay on round the pool. would definatly come here again no doubt about it. ( not with my 2 and 1/2 year old daughter though, not for children at all)

I recently travelled to the Martinique apartment on a hen party in which 16 of us went. We were very impressed by the apartments and we would all return to these again. The pool area and bar were lovely.

I would not recommend these apartments to young families or older couples as the majority of guest were on hen / stag weekend and it could get quite rowdy at times. The rooms were really nice and were very spacious.

If your going I would request a pool view otherwise the views are not that nice overlooking waste ground.

Martinique is the best hotel to go, if your young and up for the clubbing. I stayed there with 3 friends.
The only thing is they say the rooms sleep 4 people, they dont. They have a double bed and a corner sofa that is classed as a sofa for two. If you are going as a four do what i say and get two rooms. The rooms however are spacious, clean. Maids clean your room 3 times a week! Kitchen is a tad basic. No microwave or frying pan!! It didnt make a difference to us as we ate out.

Pool is massive! loads of sun loungers.

I would not advise this hotel for older couples or those with children as when we went it was full of youngsters- not that we were complaining! Noise is loud, but the atmosphere there is spot on. People are genuinely there to party drink and get a tan.

Nightlife: Martinique is about a 15 minute walk to the main strip. Places to go are BCM, tokyo joes, benny hills, ikon, boomerang.

Im going back this year thats how much i loved it.

You wouldnt regret it

We had a fantastic time at this hotel and would definitely recommend it to other people. Think it is more suited to younger people than those with kids.

The weekend we were there it was full of hen and stag parties, which is what we were and it was a brilliant atmosphere with everyone mixing and having a laugh.

We never actually had a meal at the hotel but a couple of people did have a snack which seemed ok.

The hotel was clean and tidy but we don't think a cleaner did our room whilst we were there. Maybe this was because we only stayed for the weekend. It wasn't a problem though.

The location of the hotel was fine, close enough to get to the bars etc but far enough away from the noise. There were a couple of bars close by along with supermarkets and phone boxes etc. There was also a kiddies playground near to the entrance of the hotel which provided more fun for adults returning home drunk at night than the kiddies.

The outdoor pool was lovely, although very cold at first, it was really big with loads of sunbeds around it and a bar alongside it.

The staff were very friendly on the reception and in the bars and Mark and Sarah provided us with some good laughs during the daytime whilst sat round the pool. We never stayed in the hotel past 9.30pm at night so can't comment on the evening entertainment but I know Mark did have some good ideas for when the main season gets going.

Would definitely go back to this hotel again, considering it was so cheap it was brilliant.

Well done to all the staff who keep it going!

Have just returned from the Martinique apartments and would definitely not recomend these apartments for older couples and families.

In an apartment block of 200+ rooms, which we were told by reception was totally full, we were one of only a couple of families. The rest of the rooms comprised of stag/hen parties and all male/female groups.

The rooms themselves were not that bad with adequate facilities and cleanliness. Security however was obviously a problems as all the locks on the doors of our two apartments had been damaged or were completely broken, but to the credit of the staff once reported the locks were repaired within 30 minutes.

As we had our 6 year old son with us, the pool area during the day was a bit of a no-go zone because of the associated excessive shouting, swearing and general rowdiness. The only time we could enjoy the pool was late evening, which was a shame as the pool and facilities were not that bad.

Noise levels late at night (approx 3am to 7am) became intolerable to such an extent that my wife and mother had to use ear plugs to drowned out the shouting and door slamming and one night in particular an adjoining room to ours was trashed by the occupants which unnerved us. Also on one particular occassion my elderly parents were subjected to verbal swearing and abuse by a group of girls, which while on holiday is uncalled for.

Simple conclusion:- If you are organising a stag/hen party or all male/female holiday then the Martinique apartments will probably suit you. If however you are a familiy or couple who want a relaxing pool side holiday then stay well away.

The Martinique is an ideal base for Magaluf, you are a 2 minute walk away from the main drag.

The hotel staff were very friendly and the pool was excellent for adults and kids along with the indoor pool.

There are a couple of pubs next door if you don't fancy going down the town at night.

When we head back to Magaluf I would have no hesitation in booking in the Martinique again.

Have been to Magaluf 27 times. The Martinique was a very nice place to stay.

Spacious rooms and very clean.

I have booked to go back in May 2005 with 3 other ladies.

The pool was great, plenty of sun beds.

Did not eat there but will give it a try next time

We arrived early afternoon to a room that looked tidy but later found food that was not cleaned from under the sofa-bed. We found that we had to phone to reception after a couple of days to get clean towels ,the cleaning ladies just walked into our room first thing in the morning with no hesitation to clean around us at eight o`oclock.

The noise in the hotel was bad especially early hours in the morning but it was to be expected it was Magaluf..but to be woke by maids, and the security people are something to be aware of.

The location is perfect not to far from the pubs and clubs but far enough to be out of the way of the noise.

This hotel is ideal for partiers but not for children or the elderly. I would never vist this hotel again, but I've been back to Magaluf every year now and all the hotels I've stayed at so far are great so dont let one put you off the resort it's excellent.

On the whole the apartments were good.

Cannot comment on the entertainment as did not see much of it however they did throw a pretty good pool party.

Very much a young groups/singles accommodation. Not ideal for families. It got very noisy at night time.

Rooms big and roomy but no air conditioning did make it hard to sleep at nights.

The staff were generally helpful and rooms were cleaned regularly. Although we did have an incident on our floor with broken glass in the corridor. Would probably not go back to these apartments.
