Hello all, and welcome to hell.

Ok, hell maybe a bit strong. But the staff make you feel that way. Very rude, abrupt, pulling faces when you ask for a top up in a drink (a pub shot is the size you get, but don't expect Smirnoff will you). In short! Don't expect to get drunk or even merry in this hotel.

The food!!! Don't get me started, I'll be hear all week. Cold, cold, cold mushy stuff. Anyone for fried asparagus??. Ok. Enough said.

At this point it gets better.

The location is spot on. 2 mins to the beach, 2 mins in one direction to the Britannia pub, 2 mins the other way to all the other bars. Very central.

The entertainment lads do there best, but it is the same old, same old that you get. 30 min kids disco, 20 mins of some Spanish music, then the longest most boring game of bingo (bongo) ever. Then the guests get dragged up on stage, and make the entertainment (drinking games etc.)

The pool area was fantastic for us all, and especially for the kids. Pool was warm so had many a good day in there.

Would I visit again?? I only paid

Myself my daughter & 2 grandchildren arrived at the Gran Playa about 1 am on 16th Aug. The first thing that shocked me was the attitude of the night receptionist, He threw the all inclusive bands on the desk with a scissors and told us to put them on, The next shock was having to pay

The previous review is totally correct in our experience.
The worst 3 star (supposedly) all inclusive we have ever experienced in Majorca. if this was our first visit to Majorca we would most definitley have been put off going again.
The staff were rude. Although the pools were clean the surrounding terraces were cleaned once in a fortnight. We had to clear tables ourselves in the restaurant to be able to sit but then there was insufficient amount of food for all the guests would it have been edible.
We arrived to find no room at the hotel, we were put into 'overspill' rooms in a two star establishment across the road. This was in need of refurbishment and even after approaching unhelpful reception staff we had no pillows for our first night!
We ended up eating out for the fortnight.Not to be reccommended at all.

arrived at five in the morning and was greeted by unfriendly reception staff, we were told that we had to pay 20 euros deposit for our all inclusive bands, complaints about how i have never had to do this before fell on deaf ears, you are given copy of receipt do not loose it, you also have to hand the band back at noon on day of departure so after that you are not allowed to eat or drink at hotel, we had paid for extra night so we could keep our room until we left at 11.45pm do this before you leave as they will not let you once you are there.
The food was not great, staff slow clearing tables but not their fault could do with more staff, they may seem miserable but they appreciate a thank you.
The pool area was clean but the steps down into the pool came away as my friend climbed down them, we removed them so that nobody would get hurt and imformed staff, they could not care less and they were still broken when we left days later so be careful!
we were in room 109 which has the noise of the pool on one side and the stairs on the other, we were woken early each morning by the sound of people on the stairs as it echoes, so not much sleep to be had.
The entertainment was a joke, we laughed more at the guy in pig tails than with him! one of staff had to plead with reception for the money to buy a ping pong ball so guests could play!
The drinks are watered down you can drink all day and not be in the least merry, even the coke out of the machines is watered down too, and the afternoon snacks consist of bits of cake and curled up sandwiches, not pizza and chips like other hotels.
i would go here again and if you can change hotel before you go then do so because i didn't meet one happy customer. good pubs near by are the kings head and the britannia bar, good fun and proper drinks.

Everyone Who Is Complaining I Think They Expect 5 Start Treatment!!
it was exellent for the money and am going back next year the staff were very friendly and always waved and smiled when they saw us! the food wasnt 100% but it is a 3 star and good for the money and eatable!!
the entertainment mostly for children but when we got involved we also had a great time the entertainment staff were very funny! very clean, wouldnt say a bad word about it, good size room good bar opposite .. we went there with the entertainment staff when they finished all inncent and they are very respectful! and hillarious! the enteraintment finished at 12 so we stayed for the free drinks and then went out after there was only 1 good bar open until 3am but 5 minuites down the road is cala millor where there are clubs and bars open until 6am only 6 euros in a taxi..a very safe place to be though no drunk people vialating the streets.at 11.45 people who were sat by the pool in the hotel having a drink were asked to come in but they didnt shut everything only outside for safety reason and checked the pool at night with torches to make sure no1 was out there passed out or anything!!
overall amazing for the price and definately going back i wouldnt listen to these people who complain its all there on here for.. and im always honest!!

Arrived early in the morning 5am told no room until 12 midday, eventually got in room only to pay 20 euros for all inclusive wrist band.

Food was no good same thing every day, nothing for any kids, lovely if you like salad lettuce, and onion.

Staff not very helpful. Spent more money eating out because of the poor food.

Drinks very limited small plastic cups, entertainment no existence, day or night.

No air con very warm on nights difficult to sleep. There was a private session service hotel joined onto this one say no more, be aware would not go back to this hotel again not suitable for the English.

When we arrived at the hotel it was late at night..in the morning we went too the pool..area was clean wouldn't say spotless...to get to the point the down falls to the hotel was that it was over run with Germans..The hotel was more suited for them especially the entertainment at night..food was OK we ended up eating out at night on 3 occasions

Travelled to hotel on the 11th July 2006. On arrival we found the hotel clean and friendly. Food was OK but after two weeks got repetitive. Not enough choice for kids, but plenty of chips! Location of hotel is good, only 10 minute walk to beach.

Hotel staff could have been more friendly, they were to frightened to smile! Day entertainment was OK, but night entertainment was rubbish we had to go out of the hotel to find good night entertainment which defeated the object of being all inclusive.

We would not go back to this hotel in the future!
