I am always wary of booking 3 star in other countries as they don't always match up to our standards, but this was booked on a last minute "lets just hope its ok" basis. What a pleasant surprise I had - the hotel was of a very good standard, rooms were spacious and although we only made it to breakfast once it was very nice. Only a 10 minute walk from the beach, although the hotel does have a good sized pool I'm more of a beach fan. There are so many places to eat nearby that I was glad to have not booked for my meals to be included. The hotel staff were excellent - I injured my foot and they could not have been more helpful. The rooms were cleaned 5 times in a week and although the beds are only changed once a week - who do you know who changes them more often at home!! the only downside was that the lift had a habit of not working (we were on 7th floor!!) good exercise I suppose!! Would definately use this hotel again - proper value for money. Top tip - make sure you book a room overlooking the sea - fabulous view!!

Just returned home from a week in Jardin del Mar, Santa Ponsa. Got a lovely surprise when we arrived at the hotel, very nice! We were self catering but mainly paid for our breakfast in the hotel restaurant and ate out every night. Hotel was in ideal location. It was away from the centre of Santa Ponsa (about 20mins walk) but really close to the 'square' were there was entertainment every night (mainly triute bands). Lots of shops, bars and restaurants close by. Hotel is about a 10-15 min walk to the sandy beach although there a lots of lovely rocky areas to sunbathe on along the way. Lots of families in the hotel and the 2 girls who was providing entertainment for the kids throughout the day were excellent. Although there wasn't a 'kids club' there was a shaded little tikes play area and supervised activities twice a day. Hotel staff were ok but didn't need to deal with them much. The only downfall was the swimming pool. Little pool for toddlers/young children and deep pool for swimmers, but nothing in between - ok if you can swim but not so good if you can't!

i stayed at this hotel on the last week in august when we arrived there was no room for us and were put up in the sister hotel for the first night but got everything sorted the next day we also heard the same thing happend to another family .we were in a sea view room which is worth paying the extra for the rooms are not very big and the kitchen is tiny only two rings but you would not want to cook in it anyway as it was too small .the rooms were clean and the maids came 5 out of the seven days. the location of the hotel is brilliant two mins from the square and about ten mins from the town.never seen the entertainment as we spent every night in the square which is brill especially for the children. i would go back to this hotel because it was close enough to go out at night and when we got back it was quiet enough to have a good nights sleep

Just returned back from a week at this hotel. We won't be going back!

It was supposed to be self-catering but there were only 2 electric rings to cook on, no oven, microwave, electric kettle or even toaster! We ended up spending most of our money eating out. Even the supermarket over the road is expensive.

We were a Family of 6 so we had 2 apartments next door to each other. The rooms are small and very basic. The maid only came in once in the first week and there were sweets in the corners of both apartments which were still there when we left!! Our sheets were not changed at all in the first week, but 4 times in the second.

If you want a sunbed then set the alarm for 7.30 otherwise forget it.

The location was just out of the main bit of Santa Ponsa, don't be fooled by the picture of the beach beside the hotel, its just a piece of rock..

We had a sea view which was great, the biggest problem was the noise from people sitting and shouting on the balconies at night. This sometimes went on until 4 in the morning.

The 2 Entertainers were good but were fighting a losing battle as not many people stayed in the hotel in the evening, they did the best they could and i found them good fun.

We were unable to book a late check out room and had to fight to be able to use the showers in the gym. The staff are not very helpful at all.

If you have young children be careful in the pool. There really is very little shallow water its 8 foot deep in the biggest part of the pool and many of the tiles are coming off. We have several cut feet.

Just returned from Jardin Del Mar today, we had an excellent holiday and thought the apartments were great, the apartments were very clean

The pool area opens at 8.00am, and you need to queue from around 7:45 to ensure that you get a sunbed, we have had to do this at previous hotels and thus didn't mind too much.

The only complaint that we have is that the Kids pool is too small and thus gets very crowded, (the main pool is too deep for young children).

There was a section of the main pool which had the tiles missing, however this was in the middle of the deepest part of pool (peter crouch couldn't even touch the bottom).

The apartments are in a great location for familes, close to "the square" where there is nightly entertainment.

The mini club was good for kids, however the hotel entertainment was poor, with "the square" so close not many people bothered with the hotel bar on a night.

I would definitley go back to these apartments again.

PS . A good guide for anyone going to Santa Ponsa is Santa Ponsa Scene which is available free in many of the bars, it is also availabe online http://www.santaponsascene.com

A wonderfully clean hotel. I would recommend you upgrade to a sea view room. This costs a supplement of 8euros per day - but believe me its worth it!! We were placed on the 5th floor - and getting up in the morning is a pleasure! The view is spectactular from the balcony!!!

The one gripe I would have about the hotel is that the air conditioning is very weak! Which is a shame, but luckily it didn't get too hot in the hotel room so that didn't matter too much.

Can't really comment on the in house entertainment as we went out and about in Santa Ponsa each night. But it sure sounded like other holiday makers enjoyed the evening entertainment.

This was my first visit to these apartments and I must say that I found them very clean and very spacious especially the room that I was in.

The location was ideal, there was plenty to see and do.

The only downer was the security guard who came to the room at 5 o'clock on the first morning we had arrived and told me that I was getting kicked out for playing music too loud, (there was no music on). Apart from that the rest of the staff were very helpful and accommodating.

Would deffo recommend this town and these apartments to anyone so much so I have booked again for 2006.

When we arrived the first impression of the reception was a welcoming one and very clean and the reception staff were very pleasant.

Our room was at the side and on level one and yet again spotless.

The hotel looks out to sea but if you are on the side you only get a side view, so always request a sea view and pay the extra it would be well worth it.

The towels are changed daily and the rooms cleaned.

We ate in the pool side bar at lunch time and the food was very good. We did eat in the hotel restaurant one evening which only cost us 30 euros for the 3 of us but it did lack heat.

Overall this hotel is great. It is about 15min walk to the beach but there is a little cove just below the hotel and the sea is beautiful, the supermarket is 5min walk and the Square which has tribute bands playing every night is only 5 min walk away.

The pool area is great for the kids and us adults who are kids at heart the staff are very polite and we would definitely visit again.
