Especially suited to families who like beach based holidays in peaceful surroundings. This very spacious, well set- out complex with pretty Minorcan-style apartments and set in well-tended grounds is especially suited to families who like beach-based holiday.

Just got back from 2 lovely weeks in Son Bou. The accommodation is perfect apart from a couple of things like uncomfy beds and the sofa was worn plus crickets all night. We were in Zone 5 with a seaview but the reserve brought lots of flies but we managed ok without too many bites.

Receptionists, Staff and Reps (chris, c.j & sue) were perfect and worked really hard for everyone.

Son Bou itself was nice although for the size of the beach there wasn't an awful lot, beach was good as was the sea.

Eating out ? try Las Dunas, friendly service, great food, and good prices, highly recommended

We stayed in Zone 4 in the Son Bou Gardens part of the San Jaime Complex (2.8.02). We were pleased with the apartment and the second bedroom was a godsend (no put you up beds!). The apartments were sufficiently furnished and clean. The only problem were the ants!!!

We used the pool by the main bar. You have to pay 3.5 Euros per sunbed, but you can turn up at almost anytime and get a bed. No 8 'O' clock start for the beds! My eldest loved the water slide - 4.5 Euros for 10 goes. The food on the complex is more expensive and the menu is limited. The entertainment is first class, beatles, beach boys and four tops tribute bands. They brought the house down. The entertainment starts about 10.30 pm and lasts for about 1 hour. The waiters were friendly and always managed to find us a table, especially Antonio.

Son Bou itself is fairly small and very family orientated. There is a good selection of restaurants - Boni's is wonderful, Arthurs and the Hong Kong Chinese were also very good and the new Compostela restaurant is very good with lovely views of the sunset. At most of the restaurants a meal for 2 adults and 2 children cost on average about 50 Euros.

We will be returning!!!! Our best holiday yet!!!!

Have stayed at the Son Bou Gargen Apartments with my family for the last 4 years. In my opinion this is one of the best locations on the island. Accomodation has no frills, but is clean and comes with everything you will need. Surrounding gardens are very pretty and well maintained. If you are not an early riser, then visit the biggest of the three pools if you require a sunbed, however there is a daily charge per bed of 3.5 euros. Food at the San Jaime Complex is good but the menu is a little limited. Children will be happy if the like chips, otherwise you may have a problem. The evening entertainment is varied and OK but starts a little late at 10.00pm, especially if you have young children. There are several bars and restaurants in the nearby commercial area. I recommend Boni's as a really nice place to eat. This is a family run business with excellent food and friendly service. It's worth visiting one of the beach bars in the evening. Their food is a little more expensive but the appeal of sitting at the bar watching the sun go down, while sipping a glass of Sangria is unbeatable. Once you visit Son Bou, you will want to return.

We Stayed there in June 2002 and were delighted with the activities for our 4 year old child. our teenager however found it boring at times with very little to do. during the day there was a maze and two water slides in which we had great enjoyment the entertainment lacked at times but there were nights when the entertainment was excellent esspecially the nights with a knifethrower or magician at least with them the children were satisfied a great resort for families and a great beach within a 10 minute walking distance.

We travelled in June 2002 (during the coach strike). When we arrived we thought oh no holiday from hell. Far from it, in fact all the reps were really helpful and collected us all from the airport in their own cars and took us to our acocmodation.

The accomodation itself was spacious, but was in need of slight attention, but was clean. The facilities on the complex were very good, with nightly entertainment, kids clubs, poolside bars etc and very close to the beach. The kids maze was excellent.

The beach is fantastically clean and a very large one at that. We did however, find that with young children it was too hot to go the beach until 3pm.

The local bars and restaurants were excellent with a good selection of menus and plenty for kids and was in very close walking distance from the complex. (Joe's bar is a must)

This complex was recomended by a neighbour who goes every year and we would certainly go again. A great holiday was had by all. Great for kids.
