This was our first time in Son Bou, which is a nice size holiday resort - not too big, with just enough shops, resuarents and bars to give you the amenities you need for a holiday. Car hire is available locally, there are two major bars with tribute bands playing nightly, and a local ten pin bowling club.

The Son Bou beach is lovely and clean and very long. The only downside is that just a metres into the sea, the sand turns to rough rock which can cause nasty cuts and scrapes if you were to fall or be knocked over by the surf. We also encountered a jellyfish whilst swimming in the shallows - probably quite normal but a little disconcerting!

This is quite a small resort built into the hill side which is beautiful. There are losts of "posh" villa's etc which overlook the sea. It is 13 years since we last visited this resort and it has growm a little since then. There is a mix of restaurants and bars and the usual souvenir shops but only on a small scale. This resort is excellent for families and everything finishes at about midnight. The resort is not for groups looking for lots of nightlife etc.
The beach is excellent, and you can walk out well into the sea and only be up to your knees - fab for children. Beware of expensive sunbed hire on beach - buy your own parasol!

Son Bou has quite a small resort centre. At first it looks disappointingly small but there is a good range of approx. 20 restuarants and many different types of bar.

Also a huge 10 Pin Bowling place with loads of game machines. There were lots of pool tables in the bars and other similar attracions. Favourite bar Copacabana. Spacious, decorated comfortably and having the best entertainment. Staff relaxed and friendly.

Had great entertainment every night. Saw brilliant Freddy Mercury tribute act backed by a George Michael and Anastacia soundalikes.A nice Irish Tavern was also popular with everyone.

Most restaurants had similar menus. There was a really good one in the shopping centre but its owner was very sniffy about whether a table was booked so I won't mention the name of the restaurant suffice it to say we were always shoved into a poky back room.

Beach lovely but some bits were rocky so look out!

Very shallow have to walk out quite a way for an adult swim.

Resort is clean and friend, lots of bars and chips.

Food is good depending on your taste.
Like everywhere, there are good and not-so-good restaurants but none of them rip you off.
We found the further you went from the hotel, the better the restaurants were, but on the whole you cannot go wrong.

Plenty of bars and resterants to choose from only one english bar (the Kit Kat bar) owner very nice and pleasant. There is an irish bar too and the food there is really nice.

The beach is the best beach I have been to abroad nice and clean and the water is so clear. Do watch out for the nudist at the east end of the beach there are lots of them. But the whole place is so nice and laid back really great place for a nice relaxing holiday.

Very clean, the local people obviously take a pride in their little island, we visited in the last week on the season so alot of places were closed or in the process of closing, the local supermarkets offered a small range of goods and you wouldnt starve. We had a hire car so went to the main town to stock up with the locals. The beach was miles of golden sands with a nature reserve between the shoreline and the resort, it was great feeding ducks on a pond in the middle of a beach in menorca. We loved it and intend to go again.

Son Bou is a pleasant resort with a decent beach but you may find yourself going stir-crazy if you like to do more than just sunbathe and swim. There is a small shopping centre behind the Sol Milanos Pinguinos hotel and really not much else. I would definitely recommend hiring a car for at least a few days of your holiday to be able to explore the rest of this lovely island.

The resort of Son Bou was about a 10 minute walk away from Torre Soli Nou but we had the hire car so used that most days. There are 2/3 supermarkets close by so you can stock up on essentials. There is also a supermarket in nearby Aloir which is alot cheaper so I would suggest going there to do your main shop and shop in Son Bou for essentials. There are a few nice restaurants, especially Restaurant Boni, exceptional service and they are really good with kids. Not much in the way of shops but a great place to relax and unwind. There is a fair for the younger kids and a bowling alley for the older kids, so keeps them entertained. Beach is glorious but watch out for the jellyfish, they do sting. I think it was the time of year that we went but watch out!

The resort is only very small, with a few shops and bars.

I would say if you are looking for a very relaxing holiday with not much to do then it might be worth you taking a look at this resort.

The resort entertainment has the same acts as what you get in the hotels but different nights obviously.
