we stayed at this hotel it was excellent, the building along with staff, we found the food to be really good with themed night and freshly cooked foods loads for everyone confused by people saying meals repetative as you can have salad and meats.fish or hot meals with vegs no need to ever have the same thing twice, the pool area was great and there was easy access through the security door to the beach area and the commerical centre was just being to be occupied whilst we were there it was really cheap to get to bigger resort area s and taxi s were readily available, we loved it here and we are going back again.
you go and enjoy !!!!!!!!

On arriving at the hotel i have to admit that i didnt much think it was like a palace as the name states it was more in the shape of a dome but that didnt bother us much. When we got inside it was very spacious and clean which pleased us very much. Our room was cleaned to perfection every day and the pool areas were exceptionally clean. The food was also very good there was a themed night 3 nights a week and there was plenty of it. The location was excellent it was about 15min walk to the town of playa del ingles or you could get a taxi for about 2-3euros, but it was such a nice walk. The staff were also very friendly and accomodating and the entertainment was very good.
I would definately stay in this hotel again.

This is NOT a 5 star hotel. Certainly the building, rooms Maids and poolside is BUT.. the food is just 4 star.

The waiting staff are indifferent, the food repetitive and drinks very very expensive.

The hotel really caters for Germans / Spanish out of the 36 Sat TV channels the English have BBC NEWS 24 and the Cartoon Network.

Having said this we have been here 5 times and we return because we like a quiet poolside holiday and can go to the mayhem of Playa del Ingles for a 5 euro taxi ride. Take a stroll along the seafront to the lighthouse area. You will discover the best Italian restaurant I have ever known along with a host of other bars etc for grown-ups.

H10 is very very good but it is a shame the reports on this site and others have said the same thing for the 4 years the hotel has been open H10 MANAGEMENT TAKE NOTE AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE CRITICISMS!!

I stayed at the H10 Playa earlier this year and had an excellent week. The food / the service / the cleanliness were excellent I could not fault it. Since staying at the H10 no other hotel has met my expectations - 5 star in Egypt / Gran Canaria Princesss(both not great comparing it to the H10. Our suite was fantastic. GO

Looking at the hotel from the outside on our arrival we didn't think that it looked like the 5 star hotel that we had expected. This opinion soon changed on entering the hotel.

The large domed area of the hotel that houses the reception, bar and restaurants over 4 floors is quite spectacular. The rooms are large and very well kept, we stayed on the second floor which seemed strange as the entrance and reception is on the sixth floor, the layout of the hotel is unusual and takes a little time to become accustomed to.

The public areas and gardens of the hotel are kept to a very high standard and cannot be faulted. The maid service in the room was excellent.

The food left little room for complaint. At dinner there is a massive buffet offering a wide range of food as well as a freshly carved roast and other food prepared freshly for you as you waited. At breakfast the chef will prepare your chosen omelette for you as you wait, they also fry fresh bacon and eggs for you. The only reason that we didn't give the food a "5" was that after 2 weeks we had had eaten enough food to keep us going for a lifetime.

The hotel is in a very quiet location but there is a lovely walk from the hotel to the lighthouse at Faro and all the shops etc of that area.

The staff in the restaurants seem to be overworked an extra couple of staff in the dining room would make meal times a little more relaxing. The fact that you have to wait to be seated is excellent and saves the usual scramble for tables.

The evening entertainment was rather poor, the acts performed for about 45 minutes and to be honest for most of them this was more than long enough. I cannot comment on any of the daytime entertainment as we did not take part in it.

We used the hotel wellness centre twice, although not included as part of the holiday cost a 4 hour session cost 15 Euros each which we felt was good value for money.

Overall this is an excellent hotel for those seeking a quieter holiday with lively resorts within easy reach if desired. I would not hesitate in reccommending this hotel to anyone.

We returned from H10 on Sat 19th March after 7 days of 22 - 26 deg C sunshine, both of us well tanned!

Check in ran smoothly after a 22 euro swift taxi transfer (we booked direct via Orchid Holidays.) Similar to the previous trip advisor, we e-mailed the hotel before we went and managed to get an excellent room on the 7th floor, which is the top of the hotel, facing the sea, without extra charge. We were lucky as the hotel was about 75% full.

Breakfast was excellent with the usual wide selection of breads, cereals, fruit, cheese and pate with Bucks Fizz for those who cared to mix it. Many hot and cold dishes were available and omelettes or fried gammon and eggs to order.

Dinner was more hit and miss. Again the standard was good but the queues were horrendous unless like us you ate early, before 7:30 pm. Even then, you could wait some time for slices of pre-prepared meat which by that time was only luke warm due to the lack of proper heated storage. The wise ones amongst us side stepped this queue after grabbing a warm plate and waited for the chefs to cook excellent fillet or sirloin steaks, fish or pork chops, to name a few. Many other pre-prepared hot and cold dishes were available, some of which were quite nice but I have always found these at best 3 star standard, certainly not 5. The selection of fruit, cheese and pastries was excellent.

There are very limited facilities for lunch unless you are happy with a beefburger or club sandwich and warm chips. Anything else was vastly overpriced and it was better to visit Meloneras Plaza across the road where several restaurants served hot fish, Italian or Canarian dishes and drinks at greatly lower prices. Alternatively, the 4 times a day free shuttle or 20 minute stroll took you down to Faro Maspalomas where all kinds of food were available including Irish!

As the hotel is not AI you tend to drink far less, which you might say is a good thing but frankly I enjoy the freedom of sipping unlimited exquisite cocktails without having to ask how much they are, although if you want to do this you can easily stick them on the bill. I would estimate that to eat and drink to the same standard as AI it would cost a couple an additional 100 euros per day. Wine, beer and spirits were about the same price as in the UK although the spirit measures were larger.

Unfortunately, the entertainment is extremely poor and unprofessional. This is probably why most of the guests are middle aged and for all others a taxi ride was needed both ways to Les Ingles. Taxis were plentiful and cheap if this was your bag.

A massive golf course is being constructed just over the road where excavators, bulldozers, lorries and fuel tankers can be working for 10 hours per day, raising clouds of dust. The hotel did little or nothing to clean the terraces from this grit whilst we were there and Thomas Cook were at fault in not warning us of this both at the time we booked and when they sent the tickets.

Generally speaking, both the standard of service and friendliness of staff was excellent, but they will be having great trouble coping this week as they are fully booked. The interior of the hotel and rooms were very clean.

Beware of checking out late, if they have any spare rooms which are doubtful, as it costs an additional 45 euros to stay 6 hours after 12 noon.

I will leave you with two excellent memories as we did actually enjoy the holiday! Book a VIP trip around the island with Thomas Cook even if you came with another tour operator. They use a very entertaining and knowledgeable tour leader called Gary and eight seater people carriers which can stop at far more places than coaches can and the experience is fantastic! Green slopes and filled reservoirs (the first time in over 10 years!) Secondly, book a return airport transfer through reception and your eyes will pop out when you see the white, Mercedes stretch limo that appears at the door, and only 6 euros more than the normal taxi service!!!

Well what can I say that hasn't already been said!!

We arrived in the early hours of the morning and were greeted by friendly attentive staff. The check in was efficient and quick.

We were given the key and directions to our room and told our suitcases would follow shortly. Sure enough 5 minutes later the cases arrived.

We were really pleased with the room, exactly as illustrated in the brochure (if not better). Large and spacious, with a nice sitting area (setee and chair). Large bed (two pushed together) glass fronted wardrobes with plenty of space, mini bar, television and lots of toiletries in the bathroom.

The maid came in every day and the room was lovely and clean every time she left. She used to leave one of the towels in swan and heart shapes on the bed, sometimes with sweets.

The hotel pool areas were spacious with plenty of sunbeds, even if some of them were 'reserved' early. You gave in a card and were issued with towels for your stay and each day you went and helped yourself to a mattress for the beds. Only drawback was that the pool was quite cold brrrr lol.

The food in the hotel was excellent. Plenty of choice every morning and night. In fact, we were spoilt for choice. There was entrecote, chicken fillets, fish, pork, lamb, an duck being cooked in front of you every night.

On top of that there was an extensive buffet area, with ready prepared meals, of chicken and pork in sauces, stir fries, pasta etc., Lots of cakes and fresh fruit, cheese and biscuits. Have to say it is easily one of the best hotels we have stayed at for choices of food. Just a couple of times, it could have been a little hotter, but that said, there was a microwave at the end of the carvery area if you needed to use it.

The only fault that I would have about the hotel was in the dining room. For a 5* hotel, the service was a little inconsistent. Ice Bucket one night then not the other, and the staff seemed to be a little under pressure at times.

The hotel itself is stunning. The bar area had lovely little fountains/pools weaving through the sitting areas.

If you like a lot going on in the area I wouldn't recommend it. There isn't a lot there. However, if you want to chill it's definately the place to go. You can take a pleasant walk along the front into Maspalomas and that would probably take you about 20 minutes.

The entertainment is pretty low key and the highlight was a tribute to the Supremes.

On site they have a Wellness Centre, which you pay to use. In my opinion it was well worth it. There is a large swimming pool with four jacuzzis and spray jets etc. Then you have a hot jacuzzi away from the pool. A sauna, steam room and ice room just round the corner from there and then for the perfect relaxation - a quiet relax area, with bed and soft matresses, pan pipe music playing in the background and candles that you can light, to help you wind down.

We had a wonderful stay, and will definately be going back. Thank you H10 !!

Initial problems with our room were sorted out with the minimal amount of fuss, no questions from staff, and we were made to feel that our custom was really important.
The staff were always polite, curteous and professional, with a fantastic grasp of a variety of languages.
Food was plentiful and varied every night. The standard of the food was very high, always fresh and tasty.
The location is right on the end of no-where, behind a pebble beach which is suitable only for the brave. However this is more than compensated for by the spacious sun terraces and fantastic pools areas.
The entertainment was generally average, apart from the beatles and four tops, who were very talented.

We will definitely be returning to this hotel.

Just got back from a great holiday at a lovely hotel. The hotel is right on the edge of the town so you need to be up for a 15 minute walk along a new, well lit promanade if you want to see any life, get stuff from a supermarket or go shopping. We did this walk almost every day. The shopping centre on the sea front below the hotel does have some bars and eating places but no shops as yet - they will open in time as other hotels are built.

The pools are wonderful. 4 of them in total, one with waterfall, one that goes on for ever for those who like a long swim around the bar, one that has views of he sea and a kids one.

As we had a young 'un we were pleased that all the families with kids were putin rooms on the ground floor right next to the playground and kids pool.

Bar snacks during the day were varied and reasonable - abot 4 eu for a club sand. with fries.

The food at breakfast and on an evening was fine, plenty of choice - but did get a little busy and crowded at peak times. The waiters were efficient and friendly. You can also choose to sit outside.

The evening entertainment was OK- the best act was the Four Tops tribute band who were excellent...some of the others were just OK.

The hotel itself is stunning - with a huge dome in which is the reception, at the top, an a la carte restaurant and a huge bar/stage area with ponds, fountains and great views.

Plenty of sunbeds although parasols were at a premuim - so even though you don't like to - sticking a towel on a good spot before about 930 AM was necessary. Having said that on our first day when we couldn't get a parasol I went to reception to moan a bit and a chap dutifully turned up with a new parasol in minutes. So tat was great service.

We booked direct by email and got a bottle of Cava and bowl of fruit in our room. It seems that we paid the same as people who got last min. deals but less than those who booked in advance through travel agents. tip - we got a place for our 2 1/2 yr old free by booking by email.

Would definately go back and heartily recommend.

Booked into the Playa Meloneras Palace for 7 nights for our honeymoon. Arrived in the early hours and managed to book in fine, directed to room fine and porter brought luggage within 30 minutes. Amazed with the views from our room on the 6th floor, marble bathroom, huge bed, air con, everything there is perfect. No complaints about the food, very tasty, fresh and varied. Could not believe how well mannered the staff were, and the bar staffs generous measures of Vodka were well recieved! Entertainmant was good on the nights that we were there for it, most nights we enjoyed a drink outside watching the sunset over the sea and just chillin. Apart from the first day had no problems getting a sun lounger but even then the lifeguard was very helpful and helped organise one. Gradually there is more of a resort being built and we should see it in 2005 as we are in the process of booking again for next year. The palace is fantastic and would recomend it to anybody, you litterallly have to see it to believe it!
