This was our first time on a Thomson platinum holiday. The hotel was every bit as good as described in brochure. The rooms were a good size and cleaned every day.

We reported a broken air-conditioner switch it was sorted the same day. The staff were friendly. There were sometimes queues for the dining room but we never had to wait too long to be seated the food was good and there was always plenty of choice.

I would recommend this hotel if you are thinking of going to Gran Canaria.

We found the hotel very clean, the staff were freindly but they forgot to give us a early morning call! The only complaint is we had to cue every night to get in the dining room, the cue was massive!

Some nights they give us free cocktails to stop the complaints! However the breakfast cue was not so bad. Some of the sunbeds was broken but there was plenty. Also our chair was broken in room we reported it but nothing was done!

The hotel was clean but was really only on a par with a 3 star hotel. The room was quite small and lacked draw storage space, the beds were lumpy and a little uncomfortable but overall were quite adequate.

Another oddity was that there was only one plug socket in the room and this was in the bathroom by the sink which was not the safest place to be when wet.

We found the food to be very good but unfortunately the vegetarian options were not very well labelled. The outside restaurant also did some very good food at a lunch time.

The resort itself is very large and no matter where you stay you will walk a lot, however taxies were everywhere and buses were very reliable as and when needed. Both were also very reasonably priced and the taxies run on a meter.

The hotel entertainment was not the best ever seen but some acts were quite good ie the drifters and supremes.

We found the staff quite good and they were always helpful despite being a little slow at times. There were a few queues at meal times but we ate around 7pm and were not held up for too long. We probably spent more time waiting for lifts than waiting for food.

The most dissapointing thing we found was that the towel brigade were always reserving their sun beds in the best spots and the hotel turned a blind eye despite the brochure promise! The sun beds themselves were also odd as they didnt fold flat therefore you couldnt lie face down without bending your spine backwards. You also have to watch out for the shaddow caused by the hotel itself when sitting around the pool area.

The hotel GCP is NOT worthy of a Platinum status. It is a nice hotel, but decor-wise it is dated.

All areas are clean, (however maid didn't use CIF or similar in the bath until I complained, and there was fluff under the beds!)

Food is very good, but not excellent, a good variety for even the fussiest of palates.

The location for the hotel is ok, but if you have anyone in your party who is not able to walk far, you would definitely need to use taxis to get to the beach etc.

Staff at the hotel are ok, not over-friendly, but a few do make the effort, as you'd expect them all to.

The resident duo who sing each night would not be employed by me, or indeed nearly any of the other holidaymakers!!! Other acts are very iffy, and the entertainments team had no get up and go at all!!!

We stayed in this hotel for 1 week. The staff were really friendly and spoke good English.

The room was nice and very clean.

At peak times the dinner queue gets busy but never queued any longer than 10 mins. as the food a great choice so much variety and always plenty of it. The restaurant staff were amazing, nice and quick with your drinks.

The Thompson staff at the hotel were very helpful and suggested loads of great days out.

This was the first time me and my fiance travelled abroad together and will never be forgotten. The hotel was fantastic!! The cleanliness of the hotel was excellent. The staff were very helpful and made sure everything was ok.

Entertainment was on every night with a different act.

I would definately return to this hotel.

The Gran Canaria Princess, I have been to this hotel eight times at the end of the year it would be nine. The cleanliness of the hotel is very very good, the food is great and you get a good variety. The location is just right not to far from the beach, shops and the night life if you want it.Hotel staff are very welcoming and would do anything they can to help you. The Entertainment is very good.

We stayed in this hotel as it was advertised as a Platinum hotel in March 2006. Unfortunately it is no longer a 4 star hotel as it had been given over to German only all-inclusive. This resulted in excessive queues at the dining hall and poor service throughout. The quality of food particularly in the evening was poor. Too much fish and veal.

Towels on sun loungers as early as 7 a.m. despite warning not to reserve seats!

The evening entertainment was abysmal and unwatchable due to large pillars blocking the view no matter where you sat.

Taxis were required if you wishes to visit any of the shopping centres or the beach. However, they were no more than 2 euros. Trips booked by the reps were very expensive, better to use local buses or taxis.

I have stayed at the ran Canaria Princess on two occasions, My wife is currently on her 6th visit.
The staff are excellent, cannot do enought to help, one year my wife had a minor Mechanical problem with her wheel chair, seeing me "tinkering" a member of staff summond a maintience man to assist, not only did the engineer tighten the loose screw that Was the original problem, but he gave the entire chair a quick once over, even went off to find a bicycle pump to put a bit more air in the tyres. ( had brought on with me but the engineer was acting totally on his own inititiave.
If my wife was about on her own at any time members of staff would always check to see if she needed any help, even the one's who didn't speak any English, made the effort to enquire if she was in need of assistance.
If the lifts were in high demand, a member of staff was always on hand to escort us in the service lift.
If you stay there and have any concern, just mention it to the reception and it will be delt with.
I have no hesitation in reccommending this hotel
