went to this hotel with an open mind after reading the reviews on here, like we have done in the past.
You walk into the hotel and it is very impressive. But look a litle further and you'll see how tired it is

Reception

was very rushed the receptionist couldn't wait to book us in and get rid of us. gave us a scrappy bit of paper to say where the AI was allowed and a badly photocopied bit of paper trying to encourage you to upgrade to a better AI blue band, and telling you what you're allowed to have and not allowed in AI.
she pointed us to our room and that was it, next.No have a nice time or anything. On checking out handed over our keys and safe key gave us our deposit back and walked away, no goodbye nothing very un welcoming.

Followed her instructions at to where our room was long walk away from the lift on the seventh floor.
bedroom were clean but very dated, two large beds and a put me up for our 13 year old son, and a balcony with two chairs and a table with a nice view.
beds however were very very very hard. Bathroom was large, howver felt very dusty and a bit grubby, The maid cleaned our room very well.

Fodd was ok in snack bar by pool time it right and you get fresh pizza's but they go very quickly. A little tip, buy a bottle of water in the supermarket up the road and fill this up with the free water for your room, don't get bottles of water.

food in restaurants well presented an lots to choose from, included stuff for diabetics and some diet bread seed nuts etc. but can understand how people have said it would get boring. Waiters were ok but two mornings for breakfast there was no coffee and they just shrugged there shoulders and walked away. couple of the plates were cracked and dirty.

The entertainment is a joke the worst I've seen, spent most of our nights in the piano bar, which was not a lot better, however it was easier for us as it was near the pc where our son spent every evening on the internet, as there was nothing for him to do.
One day we did take a look at the teen club, supposed to be archery but they were playing chase (my son is 13 not 6)

The pools are impressive, and on most internet sights you see them all lovely and blue and empty, that is because they are so cold, they don't even warm up in the afternoon only went in once or twice, also watch around the pools tiles missing and quite slippery cos of the scum around the edges. Also by the poolside snack bar, you can see where the food and debris from there gets blown into yep the pool.
plenty of subeds loads of them so no worries there not a lot of umbrellas

the hotel was full of spanish and only really geared to them ,
The hotel is huge and spread out, but not much to do or see.
there are a few bars a couple of minutes from the hotel that you could walk to.

there is a little rocky bay outside the hotel that is great for snorkling

We caught the free bus to the town, not much to do there either.
On the whole very disappointed.
I quite but my finger on it, nothing wrong with the place but nothing right with it either
would not reccomend this hotel to my friends or family

We were in a club palace room but not on the black band. So didn't have the perks but to be honest you didn't need them. Our rm was ground floor overlooking sea to Feurteventura (rm 1112)great fpr 2 5year olds as no balcony drops to worry about. It had 2 double beds and a fold down bed, huge bathroom. Maid service was ok but floor could have been done better. Hotel was lovely very clean. Food was very good pizzas in snack bar at lunchtime were great. One of our little boys went to the mini club he was the only British kid there but he loved it and the staff were amazing. Entertainment was good. There were tribute nights where the staff dressed up and sang along to grease abba etc but they put their hearts and souls into it. Some of the best animation teams i've seen in a long time. We were lucky to be there the night Spain won Euro 2008 and the atmosphere was electric wouldn't have missed it for the world. Reception staff were always helpful and polite. Restauratn staff were lovely great with the kids. Overall a great holiday so much so we got back Thrusday and booked again on Saturday for next year.

The hotel is huge and very well designed. The only downfall is that the rooms are in need of decoration due to being tired and used. However i saw a programme of decoration occuring whilst we were there. Dont let the size of the hotel put you off beacuse there are ample pools and eating areas. there is no issues with sunbeds has no one seems to book them at 6 in the morning.

The hotel food was the best I have had and we have completed 7 AI holidays. Plenty of choice and they cater for special requests. The dinning areas are very clean and staff excellent.

Altough this hotel is a majority of spanish guests, mthere are a high percentage of Brits. The AI package is excellent and well worth the extra especialay if you have kids as they tend to eat and drink all day.

I would recommended this to anyone but ensure you hire a car to see the sites. There is a hire car company based in the hotel with reasonable rates of 35 Euro a day.

we would definatley use the H10 chain again.

Walked in and the foyer/reception is massive. Having read some reports expected reception staff to be rude and surley but they were the complete opposite

Hello all. We stayed at the H10 Rubicon Palace for 2 weeks in May. I honestly cant fault anything about this hotel.
We stayed all inclusive and apart from extras outside of the hotel, we didnt have to spend any extra money.

The hotel was perfectly clean with maids coming into our rooms everyday and cleaning them from top to bottom.

The buffet resturaunt had a great selection of food every day. If your a lover of veal you had the choice of that every day.

The location of the hotel was lovely. Your right on the edge of the island. Although there wasnt really a beech where we were. there was a long promanade that went as far as the eye could see.

The hotel staff were ok. They didnt really speak much english which ment we struggled abit when asking for help. The animation team were so friendly and happy to help. I felt like they took that extra mile to make our holiday one to remember.

During the day the entertainment was ok. Not to in your face, but they gave you the option to take part in games and stuff.

Of a night the entertainment picked up. With the minidisco for the kids, then the adult shows and entertainment.

Me and my family enjoyed this holiday so much that where preparing to book in july for a futher to weeks. So I better start saving up.

We arrived at the Rubicon Place at the beginning of the Easter holidays, with a bit of anxiety after reading some of the reviews, but I must say we all had a fantastic time.

The hotel was very clean with the rooms being cleaned daily, and the maids left chocolates on the beds, weather forecasts for the following day and swan shaped towels in the bathroom!

Our room had a lovely sea view and we had lovely views looking over to Fuerteventura. We knew that the hotel was a little bit out of Playa Blanca, but were a bit surprised quite how far, however there is a hotel courtesy bus which leaves hourly, and a good coastal path which takes you to the centre of Playa Blanca and also down to the new marina, it is possible to do, but it is a long walk. We tried it on a cloudy morning but by the time we got into Playa Blanca the sun was shining and it was very hot so we got a taxi back, which only cost about 3 euros.

The staff were very friendly and helpful not only to the spanish holiday makers but to everyone, especially the animation team, which I must say work extremely hard, they try and get people involved on the daytime activities but were not offended if you said no.

This was the first time we had gone All Inclusive, and the standard of the food in the restaurant was very high, although after a fortnight it did become a bit repetitive. Also, the men should be prepared to wear long trousers everynight, as shorts and 3/4 lengths are not allowed. The first week the hotel was quite full and so both of the restaurants were open, however the second week was a bit quieter and so only one restaurant was open, so breakfast and dinner became a bit of a free for all!

We ate our meals out in the terrace which was quieter and more relaxed as you didn't have everyone walking past you trying to get to their food. My only disappointment was the snacks throughout the day - they were extremely limited - you had a choice of 3 different types of sandwiches, 3 different pots of ice cream and a cake and that was it, and when lunch was being served in the restaurant the snacks were taken away, so you had to go into the restaurant, I must admit I was expecting more choice ie chips, hotdogs, burgers etc which you could get in the restaurant but not as snacks throughout the day.

The hotel provide pool towels for everyone, which was really handy, and cost 50cents per towel to be exchanged for a clean one, and even though you're not supposed to reserve beds everyone does!

Quite a few people we met had been staying at the Rubicon Palace for years, and mentioned that standards had slipped, but as it was our first time staying there we were really impressed, but if you looked really closely there were a few things that needed attention to make it perfect!

My family would definately visit the Rubicon again

Hotel itself is very impressive quite large with a few swimming pools plus a Spa centre. They was a small kids club plus a couple of playgrounds. Entertainment staff were fab as were the bar and restuarant staff. The food was very good with lots of choice and of a good standard. The rooms were the only thing that lets this Hotel down. They were quite shabby and in need of updating but apart from that would recommend this Hotel.

Very disappointed with this hotel. Arrived at our expected time but had to wait for two and a half hours before our room was ready although they did give us a meal ticket to pass some of the time. Very large room with two double beds for party of 2. However, walls had dirty marks and damp patches and not all the electrical sockets or lights worked.

Food was good and plenty of it but was very repetitive. Restaurant was clean but had cracked and dirty crockery. Free water at all meals.

It is a brisk 20 minute walk to nearest supermarket, seems further when you are carrying water. Beautiful beach at Playa Dorada, about 45 minute walk. You have to watch your feet as hotel has lots of different levels. Some areas had 2 or 3 inch unexpected drop, enough to jar you or stub your toes coming the other way.

Staff at reception were not particularly helpful. Whole hotel seemed very unfriendly and cold. There were exceptions and must mention our waitress Elena who was delightful.

Piano bar was nice but other entertainment seemed to be mainly for the kids until 10.00pm, then some sort of game (mainly in Spanish)for another 30 minutes before the animation team came on. Played pool on a few occasions but sometimes balls had been mixed up and tables weren't level.

Definately wouldn't visit again and don't think it is 4 star standard.

We booked this hotel for a weeks break, having stayed at similar standard hotels previously.

On reflection, we enjoyed our stay and on the whole this hotel was as billed in the brochure, cleanliness was OK.

The rooms were kept clean on a daily basis.

The pool area was in need of cleaning prior to guests taking up their places for the day, in doing so there is no need to clean around you. I know that most of the rubbish, I include cigarette butts, are discarded by the guests but a rearrangement of cleaning times would sort this out.

I do agree with other comments that the staff are geared up for Spanish guests but never the less they were curtious and helped when asked. As for the comment that Spanish guest push in during meal times, well so does everybody else, it's the way the buffet is set out, would you wait behind other people walking along a line of food if you only wanted one item at the end, Not likely!

We were disappointed with the AI bar, suggestions that you get only locally produced drinks is rubbish, you don't even get that, there are plenty of spanish drinks that are not part of the package and the bar staff needed to enjoy their work. Whilst in Mexico last year the bar staff were always smiling and looked as if they enjoyed their work, maybe this would result in a good tip at the end of your stay, but this lot, I wouldn't give a cold to let alone a tip, and it's not the language because I speak fluent Spanish.

This Hotel is OK as a one off and I do recommend it to others, personally I wouldn't go back.

What a fantastic hotel! We had no complaints about anything. Everywhere is sparkling clean, the staff are extremely friendly and helpful and there are small touches which make your stay even more pleasant. For example, they give you towels to use by the pool so you don't have to use your own, the cleaner used to leave us fresh flowers in our room every day and the waiters in the restaurant were friendly and worked very quickly to ensure that tables were not left with dirty plates etc after people had finished their meal. They have a courtesy room you can use if you have a late flight as you have to be out of your room by 12pm. We left our luggage in their safe room, stayed by the pool using the hotel towels, then went to reception who gave us the key to the courtesy rooms. The rooms (1 for men, 1 for women) have 4 shower cubicles, a bath, toilet, hairdryers, plentiful sachets of shower gel, shampoo etc. The rooms like the rest of the hotel are spotlessly clean. It's great you can spend all day by the pool and then use the hotel facilities to get showered and changed ready for your flight - I have never experienced this in a hotel before.

The pools are great, some of them have waterfalls which the children loved. They are clean and safe. By the main pool is a large enclosed pool bar where every day lunch consisting of burgers, hot dogs, pizza, salads, sandwiches etc are prepared if people don't want to go into the main restaurant. There is a freezer full of ice cream that you help yourself to as well as plates of melon and other fruit. You help yourself to water, coke, fanta etc as well as coffee and tea from machines. Bar staff serve you with beer and/or spirits.

The food was great. There was a chef carving meat from freshly cooked joints, then there was a further chef who cooked the "theme" of the day, eg on chinese night he cooked special fried rice, prawn crackers and chow mien. Then there is the buffet which has a huge selection of meats, fish, vegetable dishes. Then there's the salad bar filled with fresh salad along with coleslaw's, pasta salads etc, jugs of olives, salad dressings etc. There was a bread section where there were loaves of fresh bread and rolls which you cut yourself along with bottles of olive oil, garlic cloves and fresh tomatoes so you could do as the Spanish do and rub the garlic and tomatoes on the bread before drizzling with the olive oil - delicious! The desserts were great too. There was always a selection of lovely pastries, creme brulee type dishes, platters of fresh melon, pineapple, kiwi etc, there was 3 different types of ice cream and always a hot dessert such as rice pudding or crepe Suzette. I've seen on this site that people complained there were no "children's food" such as chicken nuggets - well I think that's great! My children are fairly fussy but always found something they were happy to eat.

I have also read on this site that the Spanish guests get priority and if you are not Spanish you have to queue up for ages to get your drinks - absolute rubbish! We never had to queue for more than a few minutes for a drink and always found the bar staff extremely friendly. There were a lot of Spanish guests and I have to agree that the game shows and quizzes are a bit biased in their favour but then it's no big deal. The entertainment staff were the hardest working animation team I have ever encountered. They put on shows such as Grease, We will rock you, The lion king - which meant they basically acted out the shows in great costumes, miming to the song tracks but great fun. The professional shows brought in to the hotel were great - a really fun clown show, an Earth, Wind and Fire tribute act who were amazing and other shows such as a dancing show, a parrot show etc. Entertainment was great. Even if you don't like the entertainment you can go upstairs to the Piano Bar where there was a great duo singing and playing guitars.

I could go on and on about this hotel. We had a fantastic time and had no complaints about anything - apart from the weather which tended to be a bit cloudy and the "light breeze" was in fact sometimes a gale (but then nobody can be held accountable for the weather!). I forgot to say the rooms are in low buildings dotted around the place which makes the complex feel very spacious and uncrowded. Lovely rooms with huge bathrooms and lovely clean towels changed by the maid on a daily basis.

The hotel runs a courtesy bus to the Lanzarote Princess hotel about 4 times a day. This is great as the Princess is only a short walk from lots of shops and the marina. Be aware, nobody queues for the coach and when it arrives it's every man for himself! To recap, this is a fantastic hotel, very clean, spacious, great entertainment, great food - what more could you want?
