this holiday village is a great choice for family's always plenty to do and with five pools (1 very large) you wont be over crowded, on the down side we felt there was'nt much shade to get out of the hot sun.
the entertainment team worked very hard to include adults and the kids with day time and night time activities apts were clean and had all you needed if you were self catering.
we were self catering so didnt eat at the village we went into town every night which is only 10 mins (out the back gate)away.

I really enjoyed my stay at Sun Tropical the things that I liked the most were the entertainment it was great and they never repeated a show so you would not get bored.
The thing I think iI was unhappy about was when we went to the tennis court the key for the gate would not open. Also when my freind fell over by the pool side she cracked the tile and we was worried that some one else would slip again and cut them selves on the damaged tile we told a rep about this but it taken 3 days! to put a sign down to stop anyone walking on it but the rest of it was fine, and I thought it was great.
Thinking about coming again later.

What can I say. This has been the best holiday we have been on. Our apartment was FAB and cleaned everyday by Marcia who was excellent. The pool and surrounding areas got cleaned almost everyday to a very high standard.
Can't really comment on the food as we were SC but we did eat in the chicken shack and the pizza restaurant which were lovely. Our children were given yellow bands which entitled them to free ice creams, lollies, pop and crisps all day long which did save us money!
The location is very stunning and have excellent views.
All the staff were very helpful at all times and nothing was too much trouble. The pools are excellent. We had one outside our door and my daughter was in there all day. She even learnt to swim.
We did get a back door pass which allowed us to get to the beach and town with a quicker route than going all the way round. There is a netto and it has everything that you would need. The market is good too on a Saturday and Wednesday which was really good for bargains and presents to take home, well worth a visit.
All in all this resort was lovely and we'll be returning next year, can't wait.
Don't be put off by what people write, a holiday is what you make it and this place is FANTASTIC!!!

First impression of the complex was WOW !!!!
We stopped in the banana block with a pool right outside our apartment door. The smaller pools where alot warmer then the main pool. The signs say no inflatables but they was allowed, which was great but what made matters worse is when people left broken ones at the side of the pool and they was left for days.
Fag butts was left under the sun loungers by the main pool.
The complex covers a larger area, but felt abit like butlins with the sun.
We had meals at the chicken shack and to be honest they wasnt the best meals we have had. There are some very nice places to eat on the sea front and a taxi into plays blanca town was only about 2.50e.
NOW the good points.
The swim kids classes was worth every penny paid, my son loved them and even swam his 10 meters.
Curt the football school coach was a star, really good and the kids all had a great time.
My eldest loved the kids club and went daily.
All the reps worked really hard and was brill.
YELLOW BANDS a god send, was given these at check in,the boys loved getting their free treats.
Would we go back yes I think so but poss about the same time of year as i wouldnt like to be there at a busy period.

Just arrived home from our hols. Entertainment was great for kids and adults around the pool supported by the superb king of the scotts CALLUM AND PAUL. Callum was undoubtably the best entertainment rep that we have come across and paul a close second. Many thanks. You both need to come to Cyprus hol village next year. not forgetting the evening entertainment, Mel Holly Alli Paul Jason and gareth fantastic.
The food on all Inclusive is very basic seems to cater more for the self catering.

My family enjoyed this holiday, one of the things i liked was the free yellow wrist bands, which entitled the kids to free ice cream and drinks, i was self catering so this was such a good thing as saved me money, not sure if they still do this?? would like to know as will go back as brilliant having bands
rooms was adequate and clean, pools are very cold, but the massive pool is so nice, i am looking forward to going back, most staff was friendly but had problems with one woman who worked in one of the eating places and one bar man in dome ignored my kids all the time even though they queued up for drinks he would serve people behind them so they would re queue again, so had to make complaint about that

I have just come back from the Sun Tropical on an All Inclusive basis.
The hotel was always clean and tidy with the apartments being cleaned daily. My only gripe was that the pool areas had litter around the floor.
The hotel food in the main restaurant was buffet style and there was always plenty to choose from,the menus changed daily. Children where also catered for with seperate buffet. There is three other restaurants to choose from, The Chicken Shack served snacks and Spanish Grill and Pizzaria which you could only visit once on All Inclusive(booked in advance).
The staff were friendly, but struggled with speaking english. The Entertainment for children was not bad with kids clubs and evening entertainment to keep them happy, the entertainment during the day was limited due to lack of participants but the evening entertainment was quite entertaining.
The location of the hotel is quite far out but there is a free shuttle but which runs hourly to Playa Blanca.
I would certainly go back again.

This is a well laid out complex, clean and well kept. But to describe it as a 4* accomodation is misleading. The appartments are reasonably spacious but for the whole week I was there, there was no satellite TV that worked, apparently it was off throughout the complex and had been for some time. Even if it did work, there were no TV remotes in the rooms and I was eventually told that I had to rent one from reception. Why did I feel the need to watch TV ? Simply because the entartainment in the so called 'Dome' was appalling.
It is a complex that is not situated close to the beach or shops, and is a good 20 minute walk from those facilities along poorly maintained roads.I walk a lot, and had to walk from the centre to the appartments and return and this took me 40 minutes at a very brisk pace.
The food was just about acceptable. fairly tasteless and unimaginative, and many times only luke warm. But I will not overly criticise the food too much as the staff in the restaurant were friendly and efficient.

The rooms were very basic but kept clean, maid service pretty much every day.
Food was terrible, we went AI but ended up getting a refund on this as it was that bad.
Location, nice walk (10 mins) to Playa Blanca.
Entertainment was nothing special and most nights was in house.
We stayed in the Benalmadena Holiday Village(Costa Del Sol) previously which is far superior to Lanzarote so we were very disappointed. Believe that First Choice are misleading with the 'Holiday Village' brand.

We knew what to expect from Sun Tropical as we stayed last year at the Holiday Village in Majorca and found it to be excellent for families / children. Sun Tropical accommodation is a little more traditional / basic than Majorca but still not of a bad standard.
We had requested a ground floor room and got it, next to one of the small pools. Kitchen equip very basic, glad we never ate in!
We were breakfast only which we found to be very good, plenty of choice and all nice n warm! Entertainment was very good - not too sure about the Dome arrangement though - seemed quite bare especially when quiet.
Whatever you do, don't see the on site PRIVATE doctor unless you're at death's door. They charge 120 euros for a 5 min appointment!
