The suite was fabulous with superior touches - there was a circular jacuzzi bath with foam treatments - fantastic experience.
We dined in the Caleta suite - food was superb definately a 5 star standard.
The hotel is 5 star, fantastic pool, reception and dining facilities.
Bad points - not very child friendly - there is loads of steps, the pool bridges hand rails are not adequate and there is a massive drop from the hotels man made beach to the sea - it simply gives the illusion of beach front.
But a fantastic hotel if you are a couple with no kids

our room was not ready when we arrived 2 days later we got a room with a sea view which we had paid extra money for when booking the holiday compensation offered upgrade to suite this meant moving our clothes again declined.
At breakfast bird poo over the chairs, screens and high chairs also birds eating off buffet
beds not made until after 3 pm
Shortage of sun shades you had to get up early to put your towel on beds to be sure of a good place to lie
Shortage of staff meant even a wait of 10 mins at reception, 30 mins for a bottle of wine room service
Restaurants closed except for buffet only a la carte at weekend when locals all arrived
Totally dissappointed with this hotel certainly does not rate 5 star
Still here until 07 06 07 cannot wait to get home

There was only was restaurant out of the three published that was open which served a buffet which was not particularly nice. In fact at

The food was terrible -flies everywhere landing on the cold meats and salads at the buffet! The hot food was cold.
The breakfasts did not offer the choice and quality of the other hotels we've been to in the same catagory. They seem to be doing everything on a shoestring - the bathroom toiletries were a joke!
No slippers and you have to pay to use the spa! We got no chocolates either at the supposed turndown - no beds were ever turned down so we were at a loss to know what they acturally did!
Some of the staff were very good - reception very helpful and friendly. The managers could take lessons from them. At the so-called guests welcome evening one glass of cava per person and a small dish with a few olives were provided - everything was rationed - unlike other hotels.
The managers just spent their time speaking to Spanish guests ignoring others - such rudeness we have never encountered before anywhere. So much for the "welcome evening".
The Caleta restaurant had a very limited menu and is nothing to write home about. Potatoes arrived about 15 mins. before the rest of the main course and by then they were cold. Most peculiar way of doing things.
The bar staff were friendly enough but too regimented about closing times. Overall a very disappointing holiday and there is no way this hotel should have 5 stars - it does not deserve them. The standard simply is not there - they seem to be doing everything on a budget -pennypinching.
Would not return to this hotel.
