We stayed here on Bed and Breakfast. The food was ok,but never very hot.
The location is excellent and the views are fabulous.
We didnt have much dealing with the staff so cannot comment.
We didnt avial of the Hotel entertainment but when passing the bar there were never many people in there.
The roome we had was on the 5th Floor and as there are no lifts the stairs are hard woek.
The room we had was dreadful, there was mould growing up the walls in the lounge area, kitchen area, and bedroom and the smell of dampness in the rooms was awful. All our clothes in the wardrobe felt damp too so we left most of our stuff in our suitcases.
We would definately never use these apartments again

We stayed in room 626 on the top floor and the view from the balcony was amazing! (Thigh muscles are wicked now too after climbing all those steps!)

Apartment was quite dated but it did us as we were only there to sleep and shower.

We had a few niggles while we were there :

Patio door pane was loose from the frame as the frame had come apart, we had to fix the rubber strip and bang the whole frame back into place.

Stairwell light was out for 2 days/nights

Shower was fine of a morning/afternoon, but of a night, forget it! It ran freezing for 1 minute, warm for one minute, then boiling for 1 minute which meant we had to hold the shower above us when it was warm....pain in the rear!

Big puddle of water coming from under the door were the boiler was housed. I'm sure the maids were confused as to why our towels were always sopping wet, but that was just because we had one on the go all the time blocking the door otherwise we would have slid everywhere on the floor.

We didn't complain as I just wanted to enjoy the holiday and didn't want any fuss.

The maid/s came every day and changed the bedding and towels, mopped the apartment and balcony floors and left a loo roll every day (always 2 spare), no complaints there!

Room was equipped with a kettle, microwave, iron, ironing board, hairdryer, crockry and cooking implements although we didn't use them apart from glasses as it was so cheap to eat out.

The entertainment from what we saw was dire, we felt sorry for anyone who was there all inclusive and were tied to the place.

On the subject of all inclusive, there were set meal times for breakfast, lunch and evening dinner. There were NO snacks in between, no ice lollies or ice cream for little ones and the free drinks stopped at 11pm but the bar was open until 12, so it would cost to drink until the bar closed. We were told this by a family who were A.I. with 2 little ones.

We wouldn't stay there again as we have got to know the area from meeting some wicked ex-pats who have showed us better places where we can stay.

We stayed at the Aquarius in the old harbour of Puerto del Carmen. Firstly what a great location.

We were self catering so don't know what the hotel cuisine was like.

We had an early flight from Gatwick and arrived at the Aqaurius at 11a.m Although we did not expect to get in then we did not think we would have to wait until after 3pm! (4 hours seems a bit excessive).

The apartments are adequate and functional.

However the cleaning left lots of room for improvement.
I have never complained before anywhere on holiday but under our beds there was so much dust I just had to.

The balcony was never cleaned during the first 6 days and sfter my complaint was cleaned once during the fortnight.
Sounds bad but it wasn't all bad. The views from the balcony were stunning. (4th floor and above only)

The pool was nice but very deep 1.75m at its' shallowist. Not enough beds and brollies. A freefor all at 9.30 am. We spent our days on beach so it did not worry us.
If you have small children it could be a problem. There is a kiddies bit but it is very small.

Overall a good location but they need to get their act together on the overall cleanliness of the rooms.
We had a great holiday anyway.

We stayed at the Aquarius apts in February, and have absolutely no complaints.

We were selfcatering so the food wasn't an issue (there's no problem with eateries anyway found a fantastic restaurant around the corner "Bodecos"Irish/Polish) and great Irish bars with loads of crack if you wanted yet the apts were so quiet too if that was the mood.

The location was fine but I would agree that there is a lot of steps and it is a bit hilly.

The staff were pleasant no complaints there and we will definitely stay again for value for money its really good and location suited us perfectly.

We stayed at the hotel all inclusive in October and I have to say I can't fault it.

The staff are great and the entertainment was also great.

The food all inclusive was amazing and well prepared.

The rooms were cleaned everyday and also fresh towels everyday. The hotel has 24 hour security as it is such a large place, this makes you feel safer.

The only thing about this hotel is that it is built up the side of a hill so is quite a hike to reach the rooms, we never found this a problem but someone with walking difficulties may do.

We will definitely be going back to this hotel.

I agree with the most of the comments made by other guests.I would add, that if you cannot swim the pool is of little use as it is all very very deep therefore extremely dangerous.

Unless you are Spanish you cannot watch t/v no english programmes and it costs a great deal, staff do there best but because there are not enough of them you feel reluctant to bother them.

Lots of steps made my enjoyment of this complex very difficult. As a single person this was not ideal as there was very little to do.

Entertainment was dreadful and walking into and back from the town was not safe. I met some great people and had a good holiday would come back to the resort but not to the hotel.

The hotel is located in an excellent location in the old port with most rooms having a sea view, those on the lowest level do not. There where all types of guests, apartment owners, time shares, all inclusive, half board, and self catering.

The rooms were clean, well furnished, with ceiling fans (A/Cs would have been better but we were there at the end of August) Staff were on the whole pleasant and helpful but were a little thin on the ground.

While the swimming pool had plenty of sun beds, towels were tied around the few static umbrellas, with people sitting under them at least an hour before the pool opened at 10:00. This could be easily solved with a few more portable sun shades. The pool area is important for accommodation in the old town as there is no beach immediately near.

Major problem though was the food, it was poor compared to the buffets offered by most hotels. We were actually served boiled carrots and green beans at breakfast. In the evening meat was carved and left out to dry. The very busy staff did not have time to take any drink orders until you were well into the meal.

The hotel provided a duo as entertainment and a karaoke night, so two out of seven nights were covered. While this was not a problem for our party I did feel sorry for the all inclusive guests, with nothing to do but sit around the one and only bar with no entertainment.

While I would stay at the hotel again it would only be on a self catering basis, and I would take my own beach umbrella.

As previously stated by other reviews these apartments are definitely not suitable for anybody with walking difficulties. However, the room I stayed in was comfortable albeit very basic. The room was cleaned 5 times a week and we had towels changed 2 times in a week. I would recommend keeping the plugs in the sinks and the bath when they are not in use to prevent cockroaches visiting you in the night.

The hotel has a snack bar which has a variety of snack foods such as - toasties, sandwiches, pizza, chips etc. The food we had from the bar was good.

I think the location of the apartments is very good. It is right by the harbour and therefore at the bottom of the hill - a bonus in my book!!! There are lots of bars and restaurants in the old town and all are very good value for money. There is also a supermarket about 2 minutes away from the apartments - opposite Mulligans Irish Bar.

the hotel was quite a way into the old town, a lot of walking, the best beaches are a long way away from the hotel.there are no lifts so anyone elderly or people with a lot of suitcases it is quite a jaunt to get into your rooms, having said that they are very nice and comfortable with soft sofa's very clean and the maid service was excellent.the only reason i would'nt stay here again was the location.

the hotel is situated in the old town quite a long walk from where the night life is.having said that a taxi is really cheep only about 2 euros. the entertainment is dominated by irish bars, fair enough if you like that sort of music.there is a good place in the old town called the crowded house,a brilliant duo called mad dog and the englishman, excellent guitarist.for the younger people go to a bar on the sea front called route66 great music.also on the front is the american indian bar, very friendly staff and if you spend enough you get the last round of drinks for free,(fab cocktails)all in all a great holiday, but i would check where you are in the resort, as it is very very hilly and if you have walking difficulties i would think twice. p.s there are no lifts at the hotel quite a pain to drag cases up all the flights of stairs,

These apartment are lovely and very clean and tidy the maid service is excellent and we really enjoyed our time here. I will always book to come back to these apartments. The apartments are situated in the old town of Puerto Del Carmen but this is still a lovely place to stay especially for couples and families. Plenty of bars and restaurants and a lovely view of the habour. This is only a short walk from the main area and shopping centre and the night life. Excellent area to stay. There was no entertainment at the hotel that I ever saw anyway but I have heard that this has changed now. Looking forward to going back this May too.
