these were very clean and not a cockeroch in sight, all staff were very helpful and it was within easy reach for every thing

Second visit to la penita as it is one of the better self-catering accommodations. Very hard working staff who ensure your stay is a good one. I would recommend these apartments to anyone

We booked these apartments on the feedback left from other travellers and we were not disappointed at all. We are booked to go back to La Penita again for New Year in 9 weeks time!!!! and will use them when we visit PDC anytime in the future.
Apartments were very spacious and clean with everything you might need. First time I have had an apartment with washing-up liquid and cloths provided. Microwave/grill, kettle, coffee maker, fan all provided free of charge. Gates locked at night and security on through the night.
As for reserving sunbeds!!!!! us british are as bad as all the others, it wasn't even light and they were up after 7am putting towels out. One night we arrived back at the apartment at 2am and there were 4 towels out - pathetic - you know who you are. Plenty of sunbeds, we always got one around 10.30-11.30am.
Location was great, take steps down side of bar area and they lead you out on to the main road, where there are plenty bars, shops and places to eat. If you like live music visit the American Indian Cafe, Mulligans and Charlie's Bar where some great bands play every night. If you are a fan of drag shows then you must book to see Titty Trollop & Co at the Music Hall Tavern. One of the best nights in PDC. Try the Star Bar or Flannigans in the old town for a free drag show and good night out too. Loads and loads to do from markets, island tours and camel rides and trips to other islands. We ran out of days/nights to do everything we wanted to do on our 14 night stay!

This was our 5th visit to lanzorote & stay in la penita every time they are the best aparments in pdc. excellent location & spotless very well equipted Cant wait to go back again next year

La Penita is perfectly situated just off the main throughfare in Carmens new town. The Apartments were impressively clean and the pool and garden area was cleaned by dilligent staff every day. Although most sunbeds got used, they have a stack of extras and it was never a problem. If you like Lanzarote/Carmen you'd be hard pressed to find a more suitable residence. La Penida has an entertainment guy called Pedro who tried real hard but was limited to Waterpolo, bingo and tennis etc. A security guard patrolled every night and a security key entrance is in use. The poolside bar was no more than proficient and some of the fare was a let down however, for a few steps more, there's a street full of excellent choice (NOT the Mucky Duck though!)

We went to La Penita in March 2007 and we had a brilliant time there.
The place was lovely and well looked after, cant speak highly enough of the staff they were very helpful and always busy doing something around the complex.
We will definitely be returning to La Penita.

La Penita Apartments Are So clean and well located We loved our stay so much we are going back to the same place again in september 2007 We could not find any fault what so ever with the La Penita Apartments Thank you to the staff they were very helpful and very obliging really couldnt say enough about them they were excellent.

We have just returned from La Penita apartments, and all I can say is wish I was still there. We had a lovely holiday. The complex was very clean, all areas being cleaned regularly.
The location was ideal as no hills to climb with our buggy, just 5 minutes walk down the street brings you to the shops, bars and restaurants and 10 minutes stroll to the beach.
I have stayed in Lanzarote twice now and have never come across such well equpped kithenette microwave, toaster, kettle, coffee maker and we even had a free fan, which was ideal of a night to cool bedroom down as the temp reached 105 during the day.
The staff were very friendly and spoke good English, pedro the kids entertainer did a good job of keeping the kids happy with water polo, pool competitions, darts, bingo. More for the older ones but our 2yr old was happy in the childrens pool, and there is a little play area in sand which is nice and safe.
I would definately visit these apartments again and recommend them to anyone looking for a self catering holiday in Lanzarote.

The hotel is in an ideal situation, being sandwiched between the old part of the resort and the new(still being built) parts. It is just one row back from the seafront, and from our 1st floor balcony we had excellent views over the rooftops to the sea.
All day you will see a variety of staff, gardeners, cleaners etc hard at work, and this shows as the hotel is exceptionally clean and well maintained. All of the staff are extremely polite and helpful.
We didnt stay in the hotel much to sample the food and drinks, however the quality of food was very good.
The entertainment was a little bit of a let down, but this was due to the entertainment rep having to take leave as there had been a family bereavement, so this was unavoidable but expected.
Sun beds did tend to be taken/reserved very early in the mornings, as with all holiday destinations there are people who reserve them and then dont bother to use them (you know who you are)

There is a tv which because of the lack of entertainment our daughter made full use of, there are a few english channels, one being a film channel which showed some really recent films.
Very safe complex, would have no hesitation going back again in the future.
