I know this holiday was last year but i still wanted people to share our experience at the Los Tulipanes apartments were clean and basic although a lot of the rooms could do with getting updated i.e cookers and fridges needing renewed old and grubby looking. The main problem we had was we got broken into during the night while we were asleep all my jewellery was stolen and my phone the complex is locked up at night but the thief are still getting in by climbing the wall in the far corner round and down by the pool ( these are the apartments that have been updated).

According to people that go there regular it has happened a few times. The police was called and i take it was the woman it owned the complex came with them and she had the cheek to say we must of left door open and clearly you could see a mark on door where they had forced their way in and door was in locked position. They do have CCTV I have my doubts if it goes down that end. Will not be going back and that was our second year there.

Clean basic studios/apartmemts. Little mini market in reception very useful, staff very helpful.Bar often run by English couple Bob & Lyn with Isa.Provide basic foods like Pizza. breakfast etc.The bar and mini market are not provided by the complex itself. Pools very nice, cleaned every day, but very cold.(Wife went in but too cold for me).Always lock your doors carefully, get a safe if you are not careful.Still paper in the bin job for number two's.Don,t think our sheets were actually changed more than ? twice during 11 night stay.Plenty of sunbeds, but no mattresses on them.
If young I would say 5 mins to start of strip, but 10 mins. for us. A good 25 minute walk to main strip. Probably 40 minutes to the Port. A one way system being put in along the whole front, so buses don't go each way now and some tempory stops.2.30 for 2 on bus into Puerto centre. Approx. 5 euros in Taxi to Port.
Great place for breakfast is Bagatela. Just going up from the Port on Calla Teide is Russell's Restaurant, excellent food and entertaining. (Booking recommended).Very nice Italian about 10 minutes walk, parallel to strip(2nd on right from Apartments, then as far as you can go) it is called Ristorante Pizzeria"Mozzarella" - does takeaway as well. Carmen bar at start of strip is good for a drink and a bit of entertainment.Very quiet at this time of year.
A place I would go to again, cheap but adequate.

Me and my partner loved our holiday staying at Los Tulipanes. It is situated roughly a five minute walk away from the main strip and a 15 minute walk away from the main clubs.

The apartments themselves are pretty average, but for the money we paid we were very happy with what we got. The complex was fairly quiet, which is why we liked it, not having to Que for sun loungers or being woken up in the middle of the night by drunken holiday makers is lovely.

Its set back away enough from the main strip that you don't get all the noise but its not too far away that you have to walk miles to get anywhere. Ideal spot too if you want to visit Rancho Texas, 10 minute walk away from the complex.

Everyone there made us feel really welcome especially the bar staff (bob, Lynda and Danny) we would go back to Los Tulipanes just to see them again, they made our holiday brilliant, couldnt do enough for you, the place wouldn't be the same without them.

If you are going to stay here though I do recommend bringing your own towels as the ones they supply do not dry you at all.

All swimming pools were lovely and got cleaned everyday, apartments were cleaned nearly everyday as well. If you want a nice relaxing holiday then stay here, the place only has 30 odd apartments so it never gets too busy which means you can lay by the pool and relax without the sound of hundreds of people playing in it.

Single apartments can sleep 3 people but I wouldn't recommend it as they class the sofa as a bed, also me and my partner had to push two single beds together, however I'm not sure if all the rooms are like that.

Anyway had a lovely holiday, lovely complex and especially lovely people. we are even trying to go back there for Christmas we liked it that much.

Just got back from what I can only describe as a nightmare holiday.
The room we stayed in was filthy and did not accommodate for 3 people.

The bathroom was in dire need of renovation. The shower did not work properly and the towels supplied by the hotel smelt of damp.

We did ask on numerous occasions to get the above resolved but to no avail. We were told by the holiday company that it was 3* that was not the case. in our opinion it should not have had a rating.

The swimming pools (if you can call them that was small and dirty. The stated heated pool was was not functioning.

There was a strong smell of damp in the bedroom and this was due to rotting windows, bedboards and linen.

Those that travelled with me was totally disappointed and would never in a million years stay there again.

Los Tulipanes (The Tulips) is a small complex of 38 apartments, on two floors, grouped around a nice pool area.

It is at the top/back of the town straight up a slight incline from the San Antonio hotel, in a very quiet, secluded setting on the edge of open countryside. That location is ideal for lounging around the complex but it does mean that you are a good 15 mins walk to the nearest large supermarket (there are several small ones nearby) or to the bars/restaurants on the front. Once on the front you are another 15 mins to either of the main beaches and 30 mins to the old harbour area. So perhaps not ideal for those that have any walking difficulties. A taxi to the old town costs 4 Euros.

There is a small bar in the complex which as well as drinks serves simple meals throughout the day and evening. We did not eat there but the meals that we did see being eaten looked very nice and we did not hear any complaints.

Apartments 1-24 are grouped around the pool area, numbers 25-38 are at the rear, around the corner from the pools, facing onto a garden area and then a quiet side road. We were in 37, the rear ground-floor apartments have a small secluded terrace/garden area which we preferred to the very public dormitory-style sunbeds setting of the pool area. They get the sun from early morning until around 3pm, which is ideal as you can enjoy the best of the day and then the cool of the evening.

The apartments are basic and clean, although close inspection showed they could have been cleaner. On arrival there was clearly visible on the tiled bathroom wall a squashed bug. The cleaner comes in every day Mon-Frid, not on weekends, after several visits by the cleaner the bug was still there, I removed it myself.

On the subject of bugs, my wife was frightened witless by two of the largest cockroaches I have ever seen emerging from under the sink area. A call to reception produced the maintenance man who removed the dead bodies and provided a very strong insecticide spray which did the job, we never saw any more. Perhaps the cause of this was that the area to the sides and under the fridge looked as if it needed a really good clean.

The one thing to be said for this place is that the staff were super friendly and any complaint produced an immediate result.

Our apartment and the complex in general had a tired, worn look about it, well used, seen better days would be a fair description. The beds were comfortable, they looked fairly new. The linen was changed once a week and the towels twice a week. This would not have been a problem had there been an adequate supply of good quality towels, but there were two small hand towels and two larger towels and so badly worn that they would barely dry your hands never mind after a shower.

Arrived early afternoon and was allocated a room we did not like as it looked like it would get very little afternoon sun (No25).

I returned to reception and was given a better room which got the desired sun (No9). The room was a one bedroom affair with a bath and shower and toilet facilities, in the living room there was a small kitchen with oven and hobs.

The cleanliness was quite good for the
