We stayed at the Noelia and were taken aback by the friendly reception we recieved. Everything about the room, and the hotel was explained in detail, we were made really welcome.

We were on half board basis and we took the first sitting at evening meal, which was at 6-30pm the food was very nice, and you had a large variey to choose from.

The hotel was very clean your rooms are cleaned everyday, your towels and toiletries were changed everyday.

The location of the hotel is ideal for everybody, not to far to the nightlife, whichever way you turn when you come out of the hotel.

Ideal for shops and bars.
We cannot praise the hotel staff and especially the maids, enough, whatever you wanted they did it straight away and with a smile on there faces.

We stayed for ten nights, and saw some, but not all, of the entertainment some were very good but a couple of them were struggling badly.

If I had to complain about this hotel it would be that the water in the four pools is wet? (that is how good this hotel really is).

It is a beautiful hotel in a good position, run by a very hard working group of people, and I would recommend it to anybody.

I had very high expectations of the Noelia Sur after reading a lot about it in brochures and on the internet but to say I was disapointed is a understament.

I have no complaints about the staff who were very helpful at all times but I found the food in the resturant ordinary at best and on some occasions very poor.

The restaraunt had some sort of carvery on virtually every night but with hardly any vegtables or potatoes to go with it. The potatoes they did have were either fries or boiled drizzled in garlic. On occasions they did have jackets which I normally had.

In our room we ordered some drinks to go in our mini-bar unfortunately our room seemed to have a few electrical problems and it took three visits from the handyman before it would work properly. We also had problems trying to get the T.V. to work. I took it upon mysef to have a look behind and there was some very dodgy wireing there.

Unfortuately my partner isnt a very strong swimmer so it came as a bit of a shock to find there is no real shallow end in the pool. As soon as you got in the water was up to your neck which made her very uncomfortable. We got around this problem by going up to the small pools on the rooftop which I thoroghly recommend if you like to sunbathe in peace. Dont be put off by the fact there is a nudist area because it is only a small part of the roof and is blocked off.

On the evening I could not believe the poor quality of entertainment. We could only stand having one drink before deciding better of it.

The bottom line is I have stayed in much better 4-star hotels and a few 3-star ones as well.

This was our 5th time to the Noelia and what a pity I've already booked for new year week!!

The hotel has really gone down hill, its basically organised chaos to say the least, the dining area is a disaster, you are allocated a table upon arrival but you can bet the next night someone else will be sitting at it, because the head waiter is just in a blind panic every night. There isn't enough tables for the amount of peolpe and the food is awful.

The rooms are nice though and cleaned every day. onto the pool area, this was the best laugh ever, we would sit on our balcony in the morning watching all the sad people queing for the sun beds and smack on 9.00 the pool attendant would move the rope and the race was on, people even argueing over "their" spot for the beds and what was worse they were British, I've never laughed so much over my morning coffee.

We can't comment on the entertainment because we always go to our friends bar in Los Cristianos ( the Irish Welcome ) for sure we shall not be going back to the Noelia after new year week.

Just got back from Noelia, it was fantastic. The food was really good and I've put on 4lbs. The reception staff were really helpful and the rooms were cleaned daily to a good standard.

This is the second time we've been to the Noelia and we will definitely be going again. This is the first time we have actually made the effort to get back to a hotel for the entertainment which was really good.

Visited Noelia in May and loved it. When we arrived we were allocated a room 2 floors up on the left hand side of the pool area, this side doesn't get any sun and as we also had huge palm trees outside our room. We considered up grading to a suite on the sunny side of the street. It would have cost an extra 75 euro per night and was a bit expensive, however when I explained to the recptionist that it was the lack of a sunny balcony that was the problem she moved us to the very end apt on the 5th floor. It was like having our very own penthouse complete with sea view (over the buildings but even so).

We found the dining room a bit disorientating too much of breakfasts include bacon eggs etc, omeletes cooked to order croissants and other freshly bakded produce as well as all the fruits and breads and cereals you cna imagine.

In the evening you opt for a 6.30 sitting or 8.30 we went at 8.30 the food was lovely but a gain confusing. In the evening you have an allocated table and they are situated very close together, this probably happens more when there are only two of you. It didn't really bother us, as the couple next to us were very nice, but it does spoil the old candle light dinner for two concept.

We ate out twice once in Mamma Rosas very nice a bit pricey but good and the Chinese beside Harry's Bar which was great. Harry's is a must its situated opposite the Nostramus Mare Resort Pyramind. Its upstairs overlooking the fopuntains and a couple of times per night they do a fountain show with classicla music, a bit like the Barcelona fountains but on a smaller scale, Harrys also sell Miller, which can be hard to find.

Anyway overall loved it and we are taking the kids to the Nogal Beach in August, went to see it when we were there in May and they were digging up the pool area, hopefully all complete by August.

The apts looked nice but nothing compared to the Noelia, I think I'm hooked on the whole 4 star thing, ah well. Adios

First time me and my boyfriend have been away on holiday together and I had chosen the holiday so was a bit nervous.

Had read positive and negative comments about the hotel on similar websites to this. When we arrived at the hotel first impressions were very grand!

Much better than any hotel we had dropped people off at on the way. We then checked in, very efficient. However we did have to leave a credit card number, which I guess was just so we couldnt make off without paying bills etc.
Nothing dodgy ever become of it anyway.

We were given some free happy hour drinks vouchers for that evening. We then made our way to our room, on the 2nd floor. The room was exactly as I'd seen in the brochure, very spacious and exceptionally clean. We were both anxious about finding cockroaches etc but didnt see one all week.

Our view from the large balcony did however face a very grotty hotel which looked like an 18-30's, but not really a problem, didn't plan to spend all week on the balcony anyway.

After unpacking we had a walk round the hotel, the pool was lovely with plenty of sunbeds for the time of year. Might be a problem in the busier months.

There is a really nice part tucked away were there is sand so its like being on the beach. After looking round we were really pleased with the whole hotel. I had made a good choice.

We then went to explore Playa de Las Americas itself. It is a good 10 minute walk either way to the shops, bars and restaurants but a nice walk.

The food at the hotel was very nice every night. My boyfriend is a very fussy eater and he found something each night. I am not fussy and found there was too much choice and stuffed my face! Breakfast did get a bit boring towards the end of the week, typical 'spanish style' full english but you will get that at any hotel.

We didn't bother with the evening entertainment at the hotel so cant comment on that. Instead we went for a nice walk into the main part of Playa de Las Americas each night and had a few games of pool in the hotel. We spent a lot of time in the pool, and enjoyed it when they got the inflatable crocodile out on most days - even tho I think it was meant for the kids. The pool seemed a bit cold at first but found it best to drive straight in, it was also quite deep even in the shallow end.

Couldnt find anything to fault the hotel apart from the way the tables in the restaurant are too close together, we had a very unpleasant pair of german girls next to us. Who kept giving us dirty looks, we werent suprised to find the next night they had asked to be moved up a table.

Also the drinks system at dinner seems a bit strange, you have to sign the bill which is then added to your room tab. We felt more at ease settling the bill each night than fork out a fortune at check-out. We will definitely return to this hotel in a few years, want to try out somewhere else first - maybe Gran Canaria, but we want the same exceptional hotel as the Noelia Sur.

Note - if you have ever got the teeniest bit sea sick DO NOT go on the whales and dolphins trip on a boat. We did that one day, thought it was a bargain at 20 euros each. We saw one dolphin and then both had our heads in bags the whole trip. So did 5 more people out of 15. We both wish we'd gone to Loro Parque instead!

My wife and I stayed in the Noelia Sur hotel in Playa de Las Americas from 25th March 2005 to 8th April, 14 nights.

When we arrived we thought the hotel looked great. It is designed in an art deco style and is very striking. This, however, turned out to be just about its only redeeming feature.

The only way to describe the way that the Noelia is run is organized chaos. There seem to be too many chiefs and not enough Indians.

A few of the staff are friendly and work hard but most seem to do as little as they can get away with to get from one end of their shift to the other. This is most apparent in the maintenance crew and the dining room staff.

After we had been there a few days we had a note put under our room door saying there would be repair work done to our balcony next day which would take about 30 minutes. We looked carefully at our balcony and could find nothing wrong, so we went to reception and asked what was going on. The girl assured us is was a routine maintenance inspection, so we were quite happy.

Next day we went to Los Chrisatianos for the day expecting the men to have come and gone by our return. We had hardly got back at 5pm and were wanting to shower and change for dinner as we were on first sitting when they turned up.

Still thinking that this was just a quick inspection we let them in, only to find them dragging an arc welder, cutting saw and angle grinder into the room and plugging them into the bathroom sockets, then proceeding to cut and weld on the balcony. It appeared they were fixing a second handrail a few inches above the existing one. At this point my wife went down to reception and complained loudly to a senior manager, who insisted the work had to be done by law as the present rails were too low. Fair enough, but not surely while the room was occupied? They were told to finish as quickly as possible and had the new rail in place by 5.30, but they left the balcony covered in soot, welding rod ends and iron turnings and we again complained and the hotel had to send a maid to clean up. This balcony fixing went on for the rest of our stay which made it almost impossible to sit outside on one's own balcony for hammering and grinding.

The Wednesday before we left they held a fire drill and the staff evacuated the entire hotel into the street, including people in the pool or in their rooms. Apparently they do this the first Wednesday of every month. We failed to see the point as most people are only there for a week or 2 and in the event of a real fire very few would have been through the drill. They may need to train the staff but not surely at the inconvenience of all the guests! We have stayed in many hotels but have never seen one do this before and neither had anyone we spoke to.

Couple this with the dining room fruit juice machines and hot water and milk urns continually going wrong, there rarely being enough staff in the diner to keep he tables clear, much of the food being cold and some being downright inedible through bad cooking (I had some lamb chops that no joke I could not even get a knife through let alone my teeth) We came away feeling that the Noelia was badly run by a management totally indifferent to the wants of the guests in a Fawlty Towers style.

The poolside entertainment advertised on the internet and even mentioned still in the bumphf we were given at check in did not exist. The volley ball court seems to have been turned into an extra sunbed area, there was no sign at all of a crazy golf course anywhere, and the one thing they did do for the many children in the hotel, which was to float a huge inflatable crocodile in the pool, only apparently happened once in the fortnight we were there, a pity because the kids loved it and played on it for hours that day.

All in all we came away very disappointed with the hotel. We do not feel it deserves its 4 star rating by a very long way having stayed in much better 3 star hotels. We got the impression that it was run by people who had no real idea of the hotel trade and were full of bad ideas.
We love Las Americas and will certainly go back but we would never set foot in this hotel again under any circumstances. Not unless they seriously get their act together anyway.

We even had to report a missing window on a 2nd floor landing after it had been missing for 2 days, presumably to get repaired. A small child could easily have fallen out as the sill was only knee height. It was fixed in hours after we complained, but why wasn't the hole blocked when it was removed in the first place with so many children in the place?

This hotel has some serious problems.

Hotel 4*on entrance.

Lobby , bar. lounge and dining room of that standard.

Rooms are a good size as are the bathrooms, but the bathrooms need a refit, particularily the shower, and the rooms definitely need a coat of paint.

In a covenient position 10 mins amble from either beach and the promenade runs all the way round from Los Christianos to Puerto Colon.

Staff at hotel were all very helpful

We didn't see any entertainment so cannot comment

Lots of choice for breakfast and dinner but would recommend the food that was cooked fresh on the buffet as the best choice. Two sittings at dinner so book beforehand if you have a particular choice the first one being the busiest

After staying at this hotel two years ago went back with high expectations. Sorely disappointed in food, entertainment and leisure activities.

Ate in hotel on first evening and this was enough to discourage us from eating there the rest of the week. Breakfast time was chaos, no organisation, ran of out orange juice, coffee, etc.

Children's pool is unsafe due to ornamental rocks at edge of pool and slippery surface. Clientel were not children friendly.

Entertainment during the day did not exist and in the evening entertainment was very poor.

Tenerife was excellent, recommend visiting Christie O'Connor's Irish bar, excellent food, great entertainment, only five minutes away.

Would return to resort but not Noelia Sur.

Visited this hotel in November 2004. First time to Tenerife. First impression of hotel was excellent but later discovered this was not a true reflection of hotel.

Meal times turned into a free for all, due to buffet style service, very difficult to attract a waiter for drinks, waited for over half hour for a drink for ourselves and our son. Food was very poor on the first and only night we ate in the hotel. Breakfast time was worse than school dinners. No organisation, lack of juices, coffee, squabbles over plates, toast, who was next in the queue.

Children's pool area unsafe due to rocks in pool, small children require to be heavily supervised at all times. No freedom for children. More like a couple's hotel!

Leisure activities very basic, goals broken for five aside football, no mini golf, which is advertised in brochure, no children's club etc.

My first experience of Tenerife was great with plenty of eating out places (good job!) and great pubs especially Chirsty O'Connor's just off of Veronica's strip.

Would return to Tenerife but definitely not Noelia Sur.
