This is one of the best hotels we have stayed in it deserves the four stars and more. The staff are brilliant and helpful the food the best I had in a hotel the sunbeds are padded and comfy its location is very good all on the flat plenty of shops which ever way you walk.

This is one hotel we will be returning to very soon. When we arrived we took the train to the hotel which cost 1 euro and thirty cents and about a twenty Min's walk to the hotel.

The way back to the airport we took a taxi for all four of us and that was twenty euros.

Just returned from the "Pez"and we found the hotel excellent.

The meal times, breakfast 7:30/10:30 evening 7:00/9:30, extensive buffet well presented. Main bar open every night whilst we were there for entertainment, although we never went it always appeared to be full

A lot of older people staying[including us] no facilities for children.

Pool and garden area well maintained, but unable to use due to the weather conditions during our two weeks stay.

We are hoping to return to the "Pez" again and would certainly recommend it to the mature guest

We returned from a weeks holiday at the Pez Espada on the 17th of March. The hotel is really lovely very clean and deserves its 4 star rating.

The dining room is decorated like a high class restaurant, we would say that the food is five star "excellent". The position of the hotel could not be better, right on the beach.

As with earlier reviews we experienced the weddings, there were two on our first night, they went on a bit late and did get noisy, basically the wedding guests took over the whole of the public areas of the hotel, but hey, everyone loves a wedding, looked as if they were gearing up for another as we left too.

The only downside to our holiday was that a new toilet block was being built in the lounge, unfortunately this was directly below our room, so we did experience some hammering and drilling, early season maintenance they call it, I don't, I call it building work.

To sum up, if you don't mind losing the use of the lounge and no entertainment (looks like most week-ends)then this could be a good choice, you cannot fault the room and food quality, but I do suspect that it is a case of "this is the situation, take it or leave it".

We enjoyed it anyway, might even go back if nothing better is available.

The hotel is kept very clean and the dining room and all the staff without ecxception wer very friendly and helpful
especially in the bar and restaurant.

There was a very good choice of food especially at dinner, breakfasts being the same every day. I liked the way that they brought your coffee in jugs at breakfast.

The hotel had plenty of sunbeds and there was always some available. So that although some people did put towels down early, there was no need to. The other thing I liked about the beds was that most of them were laid out under parasols so that there was shade if needed. The pool area leads straight on to the sea front and promenade, access is via a gate and you use your room card to open it on returning.

The only downside is the entertainment, the main bar was not even open on Saturdays due to weddings. On other nights there was one act only lasting about 3/4 to 1 hr a few were good but hardly worth staying for.

Cleanliness in all public areas is excellent. Bedrooms are a fraction 'tired' and perhaps a little difficult to keep perfect with fitted carpets, but don't let that put you off.

The food is excellent and you will be spoilt for choice at both breakfast and dinner.

One of the best locations on this coast. The hotel garden opens out onto a great beach. 5 or 6 euro cab ride to the main shops.

The hotel staff, without exception were first class. They made us feel 'comfortable' and 'important' we really mattered to all of them.

Entertainment was as you would expect of a Spanish hotel...OK...The 50s 60s 70s guy, dont miss him. Ace.

Brilliant Thompson rep based at this hotel.

We have just returned from the hotel Pes Espada and we found the holiday that good we have been today and booked to go again with our son for July 2006.

We stayed half board and the food was of a very high standard.

The hotel was cleaned daily and was very nice and tidy.

The hotel staff were amazing, very friendly, and e.g. the Thomson rep was fantastic.

The hotel entertainment was quite good however we didnt sit in and watch it as we went to the shops on the night.

We were on an allocation on arrival holiday a choice of 4* hotels, the Yaramar, the Angela and the Pez Espada. When the coach pulled up outside I was amazed this hotel was classed as a four star. The left hand side was a different design to the right hand side of the building. The left being standard rooms and the right superior rooms with large balcony over looking the pool and with afternoon sun, no need to guess what side of the hotel we were on.

The public areas are spacious the staff friendly and the food good, although a small buffet area.

The entertainment was probably the best we had seen and the main lounge has happy hour three times a week.

The beach is just in front of the hotel with shops and bars all around. We just did not like it here though, some very snobby people were staying who would have been more at home in the Savoy or Dorchester who just looked down their noses at some people.

This is a Med Playa hotel and last December we were at the Rio Park in Benidorm this was more relaxed and friendlier, also four star hotels should not have dirty room carpets or tatty bedroom furniture. Thomson have a bit of cheek classing this hotel in the same group as the Yaramar or the Angela.

NB Not recommended for wheelchair users or people with walking difficulties due to steps around poolside & garden.
Clean bed linen & bath towels every day.

Hotel& room cleaned & tidied to a high standard.
Wide variety of food very well cooked and presented.
Friday nights ladies were given red carnations, cigars for the men a nice. touch I thought.

The location of the hotel was perfect if you wanted the nightlife and the bustling bars you only had a ten minute walk to the marina were you could dance the night away till all hours. This meant a good nights sleep was always had.

If you walked along the prom in the opposite direction towards Torromolinos you had a wide selection of bars, cafe`s & restaurants which cater for all tastes.
Not all the staff were outstanding but grew on you as the days went by.

Christine & Ann (Animation) & Rosa (Lifeguard) were a good laugh and we warmed to them straight away.We have also vowed to stay in touch as we became good friends.Nightime entertainment was very poor the best show was a trio called Casino.

Just spent Christmas and New Year at the Pez Espade and could not fault it. We came here not knowing what to expect from area or the hotel but were pleasantly surprised. Food was of a very high standard with plentiful fresh fruit, always oranges, apples, kiwis, melon and pineapple, and good choice of cheese and biscuits. The Gala Dinners on Christmas day and New Years Eve were truly gala dinners with unlimited wine, cava and an open bar all evening. Staff never stopped all night to ensure everyone had a superb night and could teach some of our so called 4 star hotels a thing or two about catering for large numbers!

Hotel was spotlessly clean, rooms spacious and nothing too much trouble for staff - anything asked for was provided in minutes e.g., extra pillows and blankets. Benalmadena marina was superb and just 5 minutes walk, Metro served excellent food and Kaleido had a great atmosphere, the other direction to Torremolinos is showing its age a little but the Cosy Nook made the best home made chips (just like the ones your mother made pre low fat diet days) and is worth the short walk! Public transport is excellent - very easy to get to Malaga on the Train from Torremolinos, you can get the bus to Marbella and walk down through the old town to the front, get a taxi from here along the golden mile to Puerto Banus and dine in the Marina with the rich and famous, well worth the extra expense. You can also get the bus to Mijas and Fuengirola, this is first time we've never hired a car as we didn't need to.

Lovely atmosphere out and about through the day, but evenings were quiet with people tending to stay in their hotel. We spent an evening at the Torrequebrada 5 star hotel to watch the Rat Pack which we would recomment, and in the casino afterwards - take your passport if you want to gamble. Luckily we met up with some very freindly folk and the bar prices were very reasonable. Guests here older than us but everyone out to enjoy themselves so we thoroughly enjoyed our evenings.

All in all we have had a superb Festive holiday here, anyone comtemplating getting away from it all for Christmas should try it - we did and hopefully it won't be our last time.
